Well, if this counts, I'm on Nofap and am slowly growing myself. Although I'm actually experimenting on myself and how Nofap effects me and the reported benefits.

@Razard86 I refuse to believe that everything is a remix. There's definitely some room for novelty and uniqueness in content creation. -

@Roy Ok, I was triggered a bit because I value excellence, and pirating seems like a lazy approach to gaining content for free, and is disrespectful to the directors, producers, artists, actors and actresses that have worked on that film, sometimes hard work, only for it to be free content. How are they getting compensated for their work? Allow me to take your logic and extreme it in a hypothetical for a bit. If so many people around me, my clan members, are pillaging, raping, amd raiding coastal villages, shouldn't it be really illegal? I mean look at at all the booty and treasures we can bring back! Meanwhile, the survivors are enslaved and feel really bad about their situation. In this hypothetical, the raiders is you and everyone you saidxwas pirating, and the village is the content, and the villagers geting killed, raped, and enslaved, are the content creators that feel like shit knowing some, or most of their hard work, is being stolen for free. The key issue here, is how do we protect ourselves, assuming we are content creators, against plagiarism, in particular from big businesses? -

@Bobby_2021 Isn't that essential throwing the baby out with the batth water? If Netflix content is shit, does that mean all episodes in Netflix's is shit? Does that mean episodes of all other genres is shit in Netflix? Does that mean all types of documentaries in Netflix is shit? -

@Yarco 12 minutes of ads that are not skippable, per hour? I don't know, that also sounds risky to do, when a larger portion of their audiences are millenials than boomers or zoomers or the elderly, which some have shorter attention spans. If you meant for the movies that're 1 hour plus, ok, but then what about the episodic shows? Or documentaries that are less than an hour per episode? Good solution for the apps, but what about when Netflix is on tv, or the computer? I'm leaning more to ad banners especially for shorter than an hour episodes or movies because, if I'm not mistaken, even if those ad banners are skippable, a person can include multiple ad banners or even pop ups around the beginning, middle and end of an episode. There are plenty enough lessons from this Netflix situation, like what to do when, if in your role and given field of interest, that when your small business is growing, and the more successful businesses in your niche start trying to copy you, what do you do to manage or even counter that? I felt like if the founder of Netflix could've done, they could've patented their streaming services to be trade marked to them exclusively. I could be wrong in saying that, but I saw an opportunity for the owner of Netflix to patent his streaming service when almost nobody or no other business at that time seriously considered streaming services, so he could protect his online property. Am I right in saying that it's possible to trade mark streaming? -

@Husseinisdoingfine No, because this forum is full of spiral wizards on the path to self actualisation and spiritual realization. Also, Neoliberalism over Liberalism over libertarianism and anarchism any day. While it's limited, it's much better than it's previous ideologies. -

@Yarco Ok, a better example would be a temporary bubble burst in the market. I agree that Netflix is in the right medium and direction, and that it just needs to adjust it's path and either niche down further or niche up. I don't know, maybe more documentaries versus tv shows would be a start. I still watch Netflix for the occasional drama and tv show stuff, but more for the documentaries. For me the documentaries is where Netflix's value shines the most, at least to me, so I don't think I'm canceling it anytime soon. I also don't know exactly why they are increasing subscription fees, maybe it's related to the increase in competition from big businesses like Amazon and Disney, typical predatory behaviour with their decision to add online streaming, just because they have the extra funds to try and outperform Netflix, and other online small businesses like shudder or other streaming services. I don't know what you mean about Netflix being like the cable tv services. When you said that Netflix would be better offering a free subscription and ad support, and then you said that nobody would watch ads for a cheaper subscription, how would Netflix support itself then, when it's free, and ad supported, but everybody avoids watching the ads? Unless you mean Netflix uses ad banners? -

@Pure Imagination Probably for many different reasons and factors, like differences in what you value, cognitive and moral development, personality traits and life experiences so far and other lines of development. I think it's probably the volume of woke stuff in ads that is annoying to watch through, combined with ad annoyance in general. However, that's just one of many soft forms of programming and grooming on the societal level, and in this case I don't mind as the minority groups in those ads need to be a bit more normalized in mainstream culture. -
Other than infinity, all of the posts so far about what is true freedom, isn't true freedom. It's 'true freedom' with conditions attached to such a concept, by you, which converts it into limited freedom. So long as you don't ego death, or become infinity, or shapeshift into some kind of creature or non physical entity, then it's safe to claim my true freedom as living the best kind of life, making millions, travelling to several countries, meeting new people and places, having new dates and sexual encounters, providing a better place for your family, a nicer job and career for yourself with your own working hours, with the ideal career, business, the best body, with the best kinds of hobbies you could pursue, with your own home. All that sounds really nice, but that's more like financial freedom or independence, but not true freedom.

@Antor8188 Also, I'm currently doing Nofap and am on day 11. I've also done a number of test runs with this Nofap challenge, with their different modes. I've verified, in my direct experience, several of their long lists of benefits. One of them, ironically, is that it does boost your energy, and makes you hornier than normal. In such a situation, I can see how that can add more motivation towards dating women, because a person who has light, moderate and heavy addiction to watching porn, and has a moderate to high frequency of masturbating and ejaculation, when they discipline themselves into abstaining from masturbating to pornography, will be far more likely to engage with the entire dating process. Some men in such a state would likely have to do frequent dates, or find some other interest and hobbies to channel their attention to. There are more that I've discovered that work and don't work, but I'll be sharing them later. In short, to answer your question, if you want to date, and you are in an ideal situation in your life to support that pursuit, then yes Nofap can give some extra motivation.

@Antor8188 What do you mean that masturbating would make you less attractive?
-
Hahaha. If only that was the case.

Danioover9000 replied to Scholar's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@DocWatts Yes, this is a slow but solid path to growing into spirituality. I can see someone similar to Glink, who already has a world view tied in accepting the possibility, but that's assuming such a person also does the practices and isn't just believing what he/she wants to hear, which can become a problem later. Someone like Mr. Girl, who seems to be strongly atheistic despite being contrarian and has some capacity to hold meta conversations, doesn't seem to be open enough to consider the possibility, which is also tied to him not even taking a psychedelic as well. Someone like Destiny is also another unique problem, in that yes he also has had psychedelic experiences, but he also has had dealt a traumatic one where he seemed, despite what the video showed, hasn't fully recovered from that past experience. In fact, I'd assume here, without those bad trips, I think in this video he would've sided more with Glink and tried more harder to steelman his argument over Mr. Girl's argument. -
Yes, Ukraine won first place, and UK second. Spain came 3rd.

@Raptorsin7 Naturally, a consequence of a false accusation, is like crying the wolf. At some point, nobody is gonna take an accusation seriously when and if there is a growing rate of false accusations. There was also a Youtuber who did similar, except he flagged other channels that gave a solid critique and that disagreed with him, copy right claims.

Do you guys think it's just business as usual, or karmic? What I mean by karmic, that Netflix might get the blockbuster treatment. -
@MarkKol Sounds like you are doing ok with contemplating work ethic. For a refresher, go and rewatch and note take Leo's contemplation using the mind, and contemplation using a journal, the 64 most fascinating questions, what are questions video, and the different levels of comprehension. Those 5 will get you started. If you follow what each video suggests to do, especially the contemplation using a journal, it's solid for the most part. It's common, in the beginning to middle of contemplating to be distracted by various things, by things around you, or by answers to your question. Give your mind permission to wonder about the main question, let it explore many answers, and try not to get too distrated by what's around you unless it's relevant to what you're contemplating. While concentration and contemplation are mostly different, what is useful about concentration exercises is that it teaches you to bring back focus to the focal point, or whatever you were focusing on for that exercise. Very similar to contemplating, but you have more wiggle room to be looser, as long as it's related to the main question. I personally use a modified version of Leo's method. My take involves less listing or worded questions, and includes imaging as part of the contemplation process. If I have some time I would draw the question, and draw out some of the answers. This way helps me overcome times when sometimes the process becomes boring and dry to me.

After some time of watching this again, they did make a few good points, it's just way too devising for my take. Joe Rogan and TYT should come together and talk it out. -
Danioover9000 replied to Epikur's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
This, right here, is one example of why I hate TYT. While they are progressives, how they speak and communicate with their body language makes them look too hubris and prideful with their political takes. Too emotional and reactive with little logic to sequence ways of actually helping people instead. There are better progressives out there with more sane takes of the political situation than TYT. -
Such devotion, commitment and vision. 40 years of playing D&D, and running a campaign that lasted that long.

@Antor8188 Yes, while approaching other women. On days you aren't approaching, you should analyse past cold approaches, and do visualization and positive affirmations of successful dates, and sex, while being comfortable being a player. When you can do, cold approach. Rinse and repeat the theorizing and practicing until you can easily do this.

@Someone here I probably agree that it's a good idea to showcase healthier forms of leisure and entertainment here online. It seems like sime people struggle with what is good banter versus what is trolling, while intending to be funny but worded in a wrong way. A sub forum where it's just entertainment discussions and pop culture might be a good idea to show, again, healthier ways of being funny through text.

Danioover9000 replied to Realms of Wonder's topic in Life Purpose, Career, Entrepreneurship, Finance
@Realms of Wonder My perspective, and I've experienced this before, is that trying to tackle multiple things, aka multi tasking, compared to doing one thing with near singular focus, I tend to do much better single tasking versus multitasking. However, it will depend on many things at that time, so one example from me, is that I have a different way of contemplating things and topics, where I switch between focusing on that thing, to focusing on multiple things to generate many answers, so in this case it ways slightly better to sort of myltiplex my focus than to singularly focus. In most cases, an intuitive feeling is mostly right, so go with that for a while until you feel secure, confident, happy and satisfied your creativity enough, that you could affird to focus more on your dating. Don't jump immediately into dating when it doesn't feel right, when you are not secure enough or confident enough. Same goes for multiple other contexts in your life, don't go against your intuition if you can help it. -
Danioover9000 replied to EternalForest's topic in Intellectual Stuff: Philosophy, Science, Technology
@EternalForest A bit of both. In the beginning, when you don't know much about scientific concepts, there's still some wonder, but as you continue to learn more concepts, that initial wonder begins to wane, until it's dry and boring logic. And of course, when a new discovery is made in a scientific field, it reignites that wonder, until the cycle once again makes it mundane. That process is what put me off of science as a whole. When I was a kid, after watching Jurassic Park, I took a liking to dinosaurs, to the point that I accumulated dinosaur toys, books and even drove myself to read some scientific books about dinosaurs. It wasn't the facts, numbers or the sophisticated wording that explains those dinosaurs that made me like them, it was the presentation, the art and other subjective experiences about dinosaurs that made me imagine those creatures in my mind, that was the main factor, not the dry logic behind them. Good rule of thumb, if you want to be a scientist, or be successful in life, lead with the right brain more than the left.
