Rest in peace Don Beck?

The disrespect in this thread is abysmal. A person has passed away, and here we are focused on talking about him and his work in a negative light? Everyone has human faults, but they also have good sides to them. Let's take the time and instead of talking about him trademarking Spiral dynamics or siding with Trump or miscatagorizing Ken Wilber, let's talking about what good he did in this world, like co creating the spiral dynamics modal first. Let's give a minute of silence please.

@Manusia Prey, to God, or yourself, for the strength to forgive them, and integrate their faults and 'evils' into you, because that is your shadow you are projecting onto them. -

This a good rap music to me: It's these types of rap music I'd like to hear, that cover some topics like the ego and spirituality, and darkness. Yes, there's some language in there that still echoes back and has roots in gang and rap culture, but it's these types of music that's nice to listen too. Nice beats and instrumentals as well, kind of gave me a rock rap vibes with it. Hopefully rap music evolves away from stage red towards stage blue/orange/green type of music, it's getting redundant when rap's all about the streets or gangs or whatever. -

@integral Not just the use of guns or training to use guns, but about what guns are, the history of guns, how guns are made, safety measures, training in managing and maintaining a gun, also the statistics of them all, from local grade to military grade guns, all the facts and stats from left to right wing politics, all the pros and cons of gun ownership. make all Americans learn about guns as mandatory for your education. Doesn't matter if your traditional/conservative/patriotic, or moderate or democratic/liberal/progressive/socialistic, all must learn about guns. Learn so much about guns that it actually reduces the need to have guns. Same with teaching and educating people about sexuality and genders, from grade 1. Saves a lot of confusion latter on. -

@Thought Art Compassion for the victims, the shooters, and the polarization that this gun culture is in the USA, which is more a stage turquoise value, where spirituality is more valued. funny feelings in your chest, also called love. In tier 2, which comprises a small group and a small percentage of individuals, at that level, they are deeply aware of the depth and complexity of fixing a problem, like gun culture of America, at least vastly aware of it than those in the lower stages, who are not aware of this complexity and depth of the issue. The gulf of understanding and awareness between tier 1 to 2 is like that of a pond to an ocean, that vast and alien. -
@ShardMare Simple, putting aside my mission statement and the goals I listed there which are numerous. I simply invade cinemas and watch some movies, and play arcade games the entire summer and parts of autumn. This is the logical consequence of being shut in for the majority of the winter and spring. Time to cinema flick and game

This is a good video on rap: However, it misses the meta point here. I can give the counter argument, based on Spiral Dynamics and integral theory. Here's the hypothetical: Imagine having slightly different values, cognition, morality, personality, states and life experiences. Now imagine that you have different cognitive development, which is more autistic and mild schizophrenic, that you mostly interpret what's around you more binarily and literally than metaphorically and abstractly, and you listen to your favourite rapper, in a diss track. Imagine you actually believe every word that is said in that track, and you end up attacking the targeted person in that diss. Are you telling me that it's ok to let these words incite violence, with little legal ramifications to the author? -
@Someone here I'm 25 . I just yesterday switched my career from studying philosophy in university to studying business. Because many people adviced me that I can't make good money and decent career with a philosophy degree . So even tho I adore philosophy but I had to sacrifice my passion for money ?. Now I'm pretty sexually hyper person .I get horny so easily . I'm kinda addicted to masturbation and watching porn. But I have decided..enough is enough . I need to get off my ass and stop doing lame ass beta lazy shit and get my life together. I want to marry . To satisfy my sexual cravings and also my emotional craving to own a house and have a family .you know raising kids and all that cool shit . Now I'm not graduating in less than 5 years .because I changed my field to business. So I'm starting from scratch. But I'm in fact looking for a job while completing my uni degree . I want to know how realistic is to think about getting married at this life situation. And what is required for me to get married ASAP. There is a barrier of time and hard work . I can only have these things in the future, not in the now . I believe if I let loose and just lose myself in the present moment, that I will never ever achieve something significant in my life . The problem is I misuse the present moment by engaging in short-term hits of dopamine, you know..stuff that gives you instant pleasure but fuck you up in the long term like smoking and watching porn and wasting a lot of time on online forum mentally masturbating about useless shit lol. If anyone have enough experience in this field. Please give some piece of advice . Thanks ? Are you sure you want a marriage, and family? that's 15+ years of even more hard work. Not only do you now have to take care of your wifey, which is one difficulty due to differences in psychological development, but be committed to staying in one place to raise your children. Are you prepared to help raise your baby son/daughter? To wake up in the middle of the night to clean diapers? Ready to buy addition baby stuff like the cradle, cram, baby toys, baby food? Not to mention increase in stress in managing crying, cuz your baby/toddler's gonna throw a tantrum at high volume, sometimes frequently per day. Not only is it expensive to raise a baby to toddler to early adolescence and late teens, but it's mentally and emotionally taxing. So taxing, that if I had supernatural powers to show you clearly as you being a dad, you wouldn't be one. Seriously. Of course, there's the lovely experiences of being a couple and being a parent, but it really takes a matured ego to handle all that. Judging from how you write, you're not ready. Sorry.

@whoshearts It's probably more that this forum, the majority of users are a bit left leaning, and some are spiritualists, and JP is more right and leans conservative and a little bit traditionalist/religious, so those ridiculing him are ridiculing their projections they are not aware of.

@Rokazulu I also agree with these, to be aware of what our fear response is, before censoring it. I don't like seeing extremely graphic imagery or sounds, so some cases seems like censorship could be justified? -
Danioover9000 replied to Danioover9000's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Rokazulu Of course, but I think it's worth a try, maybe not only with censorship or cancelation, which I'd leave as kind of a last resort for people deserving of cancelation. Have a listen to Eminem's slim shady mode, during the Everlast drama, listen to that last diss track from Eminem. Is that not justification enough for a state to step in and either censor, cancel, or whatever. Ridiculous it all started due to either Eminem or Everlast passing by the other, not saying hi or acknowledging the other. Tragic, but on the other hand we get to experience high level disses from Emcees. A question remains though: If part of those threats actualized though, would that justify censorship and cancelation? I assume your are more against censorship? I'm all for harmonious culture and holistic learning of other perspectives. I'm just of an age where I'm picky with my information intake even in leisure and entertainment mode, maybe I'm in the greens mode In your hypothetical of Call of Duty, I agree that there should be fair warnings and disclaimers to the content. I think the music industry does have that when they where broadcasting rap music, like there's more mainstream rap, but at midnight there's adult sex crazy rap or whatever. I do think that the state and the industry should probably introduce more regulation cuz some music even in mainstream are sexual and violent. While I do agree with your hypothetical, what about the cases where listening to sexual and violent rap music had a strong correlation to increases in gun crime and sexual assaults? Not even a hypothetical, I can list you hundreds of cases where a person or a group committed crimes that are related to what they listen to. A real life example, not of rap, but it involved John Lennon, whose music was misinterpreted by a person, that incited some kind of violence in him that it motivated him enough to shoot him. In such cases, does this justify censorship and cancelation? If not that, an investigation? -

@Someone here If I'm forced to answer whether the majority, or minority, should rule, I'd say the person or group whose most skilled and qualified to be in that position of power. Practically speaking, the more you know, the more life experiences you have, the more richer your mind is with it's many internal systems, the more states you can access, the more developed you are the better ruler/leader you can be. -

@BlueOak I 100% agree, this ideal approach towards education, and letting students explore other domains of mastery early, holistically exploring early what they could be good at, and letting them specialize over time is crucial. Even though there could be hurdles in providing 500 plus classes and curriculums that allow for this type of learning, and maybe quite expensive, it not only produces geniuses but alsk saves so much time and energy for society as a whole. -

It all depends on the stage, cognitive and moral development, psychological development, states of consciousness and life experiences, along with societal infrastructures, of the person and the people. If a country is not ready for socialism, no amount of forcing of persuading the population to be progressive and socialist in their view would do it. Likewise, if a country is democratic, it's not ready to regress to an authoritarian dictatorship. It seems like no matter what person or group wins the votes and gets to rule the country for some time, ultimately the authority given isn't permanent but temporary, meaning that that power can later on shift to another group, so ultimately who/whose group should hold absolute authority? By what standards do we adjudicate that kind of power to? Who gets to decide that? How do I know that is the right authority to give to? -
Depending on the peeson, empathy has different types and degrees. If I came across a person, and in our small talk I learned he plays chess, I can emphasize with that 'chess player' because I too play chess. If I came across a person who's sad, I can relate, even if later in the convo I learned she's sad for being kicked out of an online game community because she cheated, which changes my empathy for her. Despite not being exactly a gamer cheater in the past, if asked if I could emphasize, I can when I substitute that to me getting kicked out of a group because I wasn't good enough or slowing down the team, or just for being weird, so if it turns out her motivations for cheating is similar to mine, because the game was too hard and she needed the A.I engine to calculate moves, or if this was F.P.S, she'd use aim bot to shot properly because of wrist problems, then I'd emphasize more. What's the difference between empathy, sympathy and pity? Do any of these need past direct experience?

@Preety_India I 100% agree, especially the rap music 20 + years ago, and still to this day. I grew up listening to Eminem and luckily for me, because I received enough love from my family and some friends, the experiences I had travelling to different places, and that I was a bit different psychological to my peers then, I grew up fine. If I'm being honest, I'm in it for the music beats and lyrical sounds and the relationship between tbe music and vocals, despite some of them, if interpreted literally, can be downright sexist, misogynistic, inciting violence, rapey, domineering, demonising ect. Back then I mostly listened to his songs, but over time I didn't. Nowadays I listen to other musics with the occasional rap, and mostly freestyle rap about flowers and gardens.? -

Another example which happened, is Eminem's view of Donald Trump, which is negative, and expressed implicitly in a song where he suggested that he would be bombed in a car. Of course he took this serious and sent FBI to investigate this, but the charges shortly dropped. So,the point of this example I'm making, which is a bit different from censorship and cancellation, is that is this legal grounds to take and sue an artist for inciting violence at a person or place? -
Danioover9000 replied to Danioover9000's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Rokazulu I understand that. In the flip side, from a person whose stage green/orange, whose cognitive and moral development allows him to emphasize and be compassionate to others, psyche and ego development is higher, states of consciousness more holistic and emotional, and wjose life experiences are diverse, would justify censorship and cancellation of a rapper on the grounds that such a rapper, whose stage blue/red values, lower cognitive and moral development, abnormal psychological development, denser states of consciousness and lesser or more limited life experiences, as being in tbe streets as a gangster for example is harmful psychological to younger more impressionable minds inchildren and teens. He may argue subliminally that the rap music is perpetuating gang violence. However, not all rap music is centrally about the thug lifestyle, or the gang bangers, the sex, money, fame, assaults. So, how does society sort out the wheats from the chaffs? In my opinion, maybe Eminem is biased towards censorship and cancel culture because, well, he's slim shady. Also earning millions from his album sales as well. What do you guys think? Is rap music just entertainment or is more than that? -

@Butters The main dangers are related to your respiratory system and cardiovascular system. If you have issues with your lungs, don't add more stress to them by breathing rapidly. Also, don't generate too much tension while holding your exhale, and especially your inhale as that creates internal pressure upwards to your brain. If you're unlucky, you could cause a tear in the capillaries in your brain which can lead to stroke, or cause long term bruising of the inner layers of the capillaries and veins/arteries that'll lead to a stroke in the future, or a heart attack. Fun fact: Dim Mak is a martial art that focuses on striking vital points of the human body, to compound pain or cause immense damage through over stimulating the opponent's nervous system. While there's fluff and wierd strikes, strikes to the arteries/veins, especially in the neck, are more dangerous as they can cause momentary spike in blood pressure upwards to the brain, which can either cause an immediate fissure in the capillaries right there, or long term scarring that'll eventually Actualize later in life. Honestly I'm fed up with Wim Hoff method breathing technique and shamanic techniques flippantly being adviced without proper warnings and disclaimers to their potential dangers to a person's lungs and cardiovascular system. Just because a method works for one person, doesn't mean it works for everyone. It all depends on your health and if your lungs and heart can hanele it. -
@How to be wise ? Trump's advice would be: lie seriously, myriadly line by line.

Danioover9000 replied to Eternal Unity's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Razard86 At this point, honestly the problem is so big it doesn't matter what race, gender or age of the main group causing the gun issues that are causing a very particular problem. More importantly is we got to come up with solutions to effectively regulate guns. That's it. Even taking into consideration the value systems, cognitive and moral development, psychology, personalities, states of being and life experiences, we still need more regulation. And don't ask in this worded way. Why? it makes you look like you want to paint the user@DocWatts in a bad light. Naughty.
