I'm not aware of any Leo vids that discuss that, nor anything else. I guess it's just them imagining being in your situation and imagining how difficult it'd be for them to cope, thus assuming helplessness. They don't consider the importance of feeling capable, independent and autonomous.

Oh. Anything in particular that interests you about that?

Except I don't know anyone who actually has the goal of abolishing the white race. It's just a motive projected onto people who are unconcerned about how many white people there are in relation to other races.

@improvementedward Well the basic idea is anything that is challenging enough to occupy your full attention without being impossible. Doing any activity pushing near the limits of your attention and skill can produce flow. So if you do something successfully and don't go into flow it's too easy, and if you fail to do it it's too hard.

@Roch Self-pity? Or what exactly.

@ZZZZ Sometimes you need to live life for a bit. If life slaps you around enough, you might want to get back on the path. Also, spiritual theory is pretty boring. -
@ZenDancer The underlying uneasiness and dissatisfaction with life becomes quite apparent to me when I stop my habitual distracting activities. At the same time it feels more empowering and fulfilling to be quietly with those nasty feelings than immersing myself in distractions.

@Charlotte Good stuff.

Most certainly not all. It's not a necessity. -
That's a myth. @Ampresus Anyways, my recommendation is experimenting with this and seeing how you prefer it. Armpits and pubic hair/balls are definitely something to shave or trim for hygiene and comfort as well as sex appeal. Back hair, buttock hair and back of the neck hair seems to be also something not that appealing, as far as I remember polls among women confirm this. I don't find much wrong with hair removal anywhere else either, according to personal preference. There isn't really a place that it's unacceptable to remove hair from. Of course it's worth keeping in mind that with some places, removing hair from there requires you to also work on the surrounding areas in order not to look ridiculous. Do be careful with buttocks and the back of the thighs though as those areas get a lot of friction and pressure in daily life. Definitely shouldn't shave those to avoid agony, trimming should be fine.

Markus replied to theking00's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@theking00 You need to accept it in order to escape it. Accept it to such a degree that you have no fantasies and hopes of escape anywhere in the back of your mind. -
Life will show you that its nature is dukkha (an inherent lack of satisfaction), if you see enough of it clearly enough. You can't force any kind of insight or realization. Someone can tell you it but it won't matter. I haven't realized it fully myself. There's these thoughts of "well yea, life is unsatisfactory, but that's because x, y, z. If only those weren't the case, it wouldn't be unsatisfactory." It's bs, but I must truly see it, not conclude it logically. So my recommendation on seeing how life won't make you happy is giving it time, living your life mindfully and reflecting on it. Especially reflecting on the instances you get emotional/triggered.

Markus replied to Bluebird's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Bluebird The Buddha supposedly did escape samsara. By my intuition and experience his core teachings are very on point so I believe it is indeed possible. As long as there is any karma or ego, as long as there is any you, you are bound to the cycle of reincarnation. If you shed all karma, there's nirvana, liberation. Which is a much much taller order than the awakened states our popular teachers are in. -
Markus replied to Aaron p's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Aaron p Hard to tell what the matter is. Could be a purge, could be clinical issues. Feeling like shit by no means predicts awakening. -
@Tiny Nietzsche You think this will work because you haven't developed sufficient awareness of human psychology. We want wealth in order to have freedom to do whatever we want, because we think such freedom will make us happy. Why though? It's a false assumption. Unhappiness is caused by craving. Craving and desiring things. The mind is a survival mechanism, it focuses on problems. The nature of the mind is to crave whatever isn't present, thus cravings will never run out. Everyone thinks that if only they could manage to fulfil whatever they desire, they'd be happy. But in reality, it's a constant struggle of seeking out things to soothe our cravings. It's a lack of peace. It's miserable. Sure, you can find ways to numb yourself and ignore that with all these new bursts of excitement, but you can't escape the fact you're running in a wheel, and can't stop.

@darind What's your objective with the book? Maximizing the eyeballs it gets or telling a sincere story? Or something else?

I stand corrected then. I said it based off of the "How To Become Enlightened" video which I watched years ago. -

The relative not existing is just an idea to you. And many do tell people not to concern themselves with ideas of past lives, because it's a distraction. Adyashanti is reluctant to talk about past lives (he's had visions of his) due to that. -
Markus replied to jamsterX's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@jamsterX The first sounds like an out-of-body experience. It's hard for me to say because I haven't experienced floating above my head. The second sounds like a legitimate experience of non-duality. -
Markus replied to mandyjw's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@mandyjw There's a lot of fascinating stuff possible within the realm of experience. There was a period where I thought there to be quite a lot of metaphysical reality to energetic, subtle experiences. I would connect to different masters and concepts, and be affected by their energy. Looking back at it, I think of it as a cognition. There's a degree of underlying reality to places and people having different energy, but the mind can cognize these things in quite a wild manner, leading to paranormal experiences. And that cognition can vary a lot from person to person. The second thing is that subtle phenomena are very alluring and easy to get sucked into. If you want enlightenment and increased consciousness, the right focus would be seeing through cognition and experience, rather than getting lost in it. -

@Tony 845 Kriyas are a normal occurrence with an active kundalini. I've had some kundalini experiences, as well as seen them in others. -
Markus replied to BIggleswerth's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@BIggleswerth Buddhism is a very broad thing, with different branches and varying interpretations of those branches. I'll contrast what seem to me to be the prevalent views here vs How I view the Buddha's teachings. I notice a lot of emphasis here on awakening, having insights into the non-dual nature of reality. How self and other/the world are not separate. And so having this realization in a complete manner would lead to full enlightenment, and the cessation of suffering. Meditation, self-inquiry, and psychedelics are used to try to reach this realization. The character and relative nature of the "enlightened person" is considered a separate matter, as it falls into the realm of duality. The Buddha's first noble truth is that life is suffering. It may be more accurately stated as life has an inherently unsatisfactory nature. Due to fear of the unknown, caused by our inability to understand the world, or guarantee our safety, we seek to control life. Our need to control creates cravings. Cravings basically control our lives. Cravings are the cause of suffering. Only by completely and clearly seeing the impossibility of gaining satisfaction in life, will our mechanism of craving start to exhaust itself. Bit by bit. Leading to a greater freedom with it. Until, by the extinguishing of all craving, liberation is reached. -
Markus replied to legendary's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yea, I wasn't intending to keep it to any particular topic but rather address what I found relevant. Though thinking of it, I think the matter of people having different experiences they consider absolute is an important thing to consider when discussing if there is an endgame and what it might be. -

@Pouya Some assume due to scripture/teachings, some assume because they have memories/visions. -
