It's because they are human. They are heavily invested in their concepts and beliefs. Anyone that has spent half their life or more dedicated to a specific belief will be very attached to that belief regardless of how awake or enlightened they are. You just can't dodge bias. Not completely anyway. -

Man i am confused. So which one are we going for? Take a vote? -
This made me laugh. I have this picture of you sitting opposite your therapist with a scary grin saying "I am Javfly33 and everything is one". I hope your therapist doesn't try to get you locked up

This is Philippians from the New Testament. It's one of the shorter books in the Bible at 1629 words. That means it's 47th out of the 66 books in terms of length. Here is a link telling you a little bit more about this book of the Bible https://overviewbible.com/philippians/ What now follows are my favourite versus and what they mean to me in terms of my development. 2:4 - And look out for one another’s interests, and not just for your own. This is a very important element of my Alcoholics Anonymous programme. What you give, comes back. Also, this helps to get you out of SELF and out of your own head. 3:14 - Do everything without complaining or arguing. A good prompt to help contemplate if you are dwelling or otherwise sitting in victim mode for longer than required. 4:6-7 - Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God’s peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus. Love this. If I read this with my heart I feel like God is literally giving me a cuddle and telling me everything is going to be okay. 4:8-9 - In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable. Put into practice what you learnt and received from my words, and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you. I read this before I pray or meditate. 4:13 - I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me. Resilience!

Look, all this mental masturbation stuff doesn't quite fly on this section of the forum, I don't think it works. It's best left for the other sections. I think it's more practical here. All this talk about dualities and illusions is nonsense mate. Forget it. EDIT: Sorry. My post here is useless and quite judgmental. Maybe you get some benefit from this kind of inquiry.

Awesome post.

If you decide to use a term like "real men" then you can expect virtually every person who reads your post to also have their own interpretation of what a "real man" is, and therefore, the term is virtually useless unless properly defined and even then it's probably still useless.
-
Why would they (the men) be catergorised at all? Not to mention what is the definition of health here anyway? In writing that a healthy woman will not get involved with an unhealthy man, whom are you referring to? One particular woman you know or speaking on behalf of a group or a cohort? Or you could be playing devil's advocate and getting a good discussion going of course.
-
Lol, I don't think men can really measures there realness by the health of the women they have sex with. What happens if a real man sleeps with an unhealthy women, he turns from a real man to a fake man like a man turns into a werewolf
-
@Applegarden haha, actually I like your edited post. Especially the bit about many of us having double standards. Ain't that the truth. Sometimes I think real personal development and growth can be measured on how much or little we are running around like hypocrites in life!

That's one hell of a word salad you just puked up.

She decided against it in the end. Ever since OSHO and his fleet of Rolls Royce cars, opening a cult has been difficult in America. They are not taking any new applications, not even from Teal Swan.

Why didn't you just accept the contract? Who said it was a negotiation?

@Danioover9000 Hi. Yeh, I think it's understandable people want to give up something if they've heard that others have benefited from giving it up. I guess anything not done in moderation can cause issues. I think people obsessed with masturbation and/or porn would benefit from some kind of abstinence programme that is supportive. Peer support can work wonders. If you can't do it in moderation then that's when you have to really take responsibility and try something different. There's a big difference to doing something frequently (but being able to take it or leave it) and needing and having to do it as a compulsion. For me, fapping doesn't cause any negative consequences to anyone including myself. I have other obsessions and/or addictions though that are problematic though.

Are you talking about insomnia?

The video talks about all the access women now have to "top tier men". The problem for women is that they first need to survive being overwhelmed by the "bottom tier" LOL, who will swarm like bees around honey given half a chance. I guess the problem for many women is that the bottom tier is massive compared the top tier haha It's like moving into a lovely house with a peaceful back garden before you realise you are right next to main land railway line.

How is this not a troll thread? Someone that has stated several times previously that he has reached higher states of consciousness through dedication to the work of Byron Katie yet he opens a thread up on a fairly advanced self-development forum about whether or not a Doner Kebab is healthy. Might as well open up a thread on the benefits of smoking.

Thought I'd ask as overwhelm is my middle name right now! It's work related anxiety but I've had this forever pretty much. Each job eventually consumes me. I'm getting better at coping. AA has taught me a lot. What you describe about wanting mummy, I can relate, but I call it "the monster under the bed". I'm 44 and have been having that a lot ever since we hit 2020. The difference now is that I have the awareness that it's pretty much all "monster under the bed stuff", that inner feeling of angst, doom, catastrophe, like at any moment something bad will happen so I can justify all my fear! I had a meeting with my boss a few weeks ago about work stress. But AA has taught me good accountability so now I have a little smile to myself sometimes and realise that these meetings to discuss stress levels are partly me convening a "monster under the bed" meeting. And of course, who else can sort out my monster under the bed issue? Only me! You also have a degree of insight like me. We can no longer plead ignorance! We know too much about self-development and ego etc.
-
Hello mate, what specifically was overwhelming?
-
Man, I've read your post 3 or 4 times before typing this, but I have to ask... what are you talking about? Because somewhere in there seems an interesting point! Seriously. But can you reword it or something?
-
So you the see psychiatrist but it's your mum that needs to take the medication? I'm trying not to laugh as I know you are working hard on your mental health, and I am too. But this did make me laugh, not sure if it's a typo?

Right here we go. We will start with James from the New Testament. It's one of the shorter books in the Bible at 1742 words. That means it's 45th out of the 66 books in terms of length. James is a brilliant book in that it conveys a strong message of action and behaviour change. This should suit us self-actualizers Here is a link telling you a little bit more about this book of the Bible https://overviewbible.com/james/ What now follows are my favourite versus and what they mean to me in terms of my development. 1:2-8 - My brothers and sisters, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all. But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the wind. People like that, unable to make up their minds and undecided in all they do, must not think they will receive anything from the Lord. Resilience and faith. I also see Law of Attraction and manifesting. 1:19 - Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry. To be truly present with someone. Not to react on impulse. Keep calm. 1:22 - Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice. and 2:22 - Can’t you see? His faith and his actions worked together; his faith was made perfect through his actions. Avoid obsessing. Avoid mental masturbation. Just do it. You are more your actions than you are your thoughts. 3:7-10 - Human beings can tame and have tamed all other creatures – wild animals and birds, reptiles and fish. But no one has ever been able to tame the tongue. It is evil and uncontrollable, full of deadly poison. We use it to give thanks to our Lord and Father and also to curse other people, who are created in the likeness of God. Words of thanksgiving and cursing pour out of the same mouth. My brothers and sisters, this should not happen! As Russell Brand would say, be kind and don't fuck anyone over. 4:10 - Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Need I say more? Watch out for self-entitlement. 4:12 - God is the only lawgiver and judge. He alone can save and destroy. Who do you think you are, to judge someone else? Work on yourself. Other people will do what they want to do. Also, don't be such a hypocrite.

WW3 will probably be more of an accident. There will be tension, and a stand off, and then a mistake in (fail safe) missile technology, with others retaliating automatically and boom, most of us in America, UK, France, China, Japan, Israel, Iran, and Russia will be instantly barbecued. Those of us that experience a brief climate of 100,000,000° Celsius will be the lucky ones.

@Inliytened1 Are you talking about reincarnation? In terms of Leo dying many times? Like reborn as Leo this time but was someone else before?
