An incel has no way for building a social circle of hot girls. He would have to spend years going out and socializing with hot girls and becoming very charismatic and socially calibrated. Once you got pickup skills talking to girls is easy so building a social circle becomes pretty easy. Of course by that point you probably don't need a social circle because you can pull consistently. Still, some of the hottest girls you will only get through playing the status games. The hottest girls love status more than they care about your cold approach.
Lack of compassion is certainly a problem in the PUA community. The community tends to attract sociopaths because that's who the hottest women sleep with the most. Empathy is not rewarded in game, it loses you lays. Women are not attracted to empathy, regardless of what they might claim.
Yes, much of the way pickup is taught is toxic masculinity. Pickup tends to attract a lot of sleazy guys because it is taboo and hardcore. Many guys who get into pickup spend most of their lives thinking with their dicks. They have low integrity and will not hesitate to cheat both women and men alike. The funny things is, men get cheated by PUAs as much as women, because cheating is a way of life.

Bootcamps are very low value. You are better off just finding a couple of solid wings. You will learn more from your wings in a few weeks than from a bootcamp.
To me, seeing more in-field and new in-field is almost always worth it. But if you've seen a ton of in-field already then maybe not.
I find that I learn the best from watching solid in-field.
There's not really any special information in game. It's about fine-tuning your game in small ways. All of it adds up over the years. There's no magic pill, just a bunch of 1%-5% improvements that stack up.
$300 for HotSeat is a pretty good deal if you've never seen it. I saw it live back in 2012 and was happy to pay $300 for it. This at home version is newer and you get the benefit of being able to rewatch it at home. I wish I had that back in 2012.
The biggest downside is that it tends to be flashy game, which is actually not the best game. It's made to look more interesting for viewers to watch than it is solid game. But it's good to try some flash game just to see how much you can get away with. It expands your range. Just don't get lost in being so flashy. The best game is more chill and normal.

I find watching in-field way more effective than a bootcamp. Bootcamps are pretty bad value. All that happens on a bootcamp is you are told to approach.
The HotSeat really opens your mind to what is possible in game. Although much of it is flash game. But still, even seeing flash game is good to grow some balls.

There are plenty of social mechanisms now, more than there have ever been in history. Social media and the internet actually makes it easier than ever to find these as well. You just have to actually go out and do them.
College/uni is a great example. You can either be the type who sits in their room all day or you can be the type to join a bunch of different societies/clubs and meet a ton of people. I was the type that sat in my room all day and now I can see how dumb that was. But even after college/uni, there are literally endless social activities you can go and join. Go and travel the world if you really want to meet a bunch of people.
People still go to bars all the time. People still go to clubs. Clubs are fucking packed. Bars are fucking packed. The jiu jitsu classes I go to are fucking packed. There are 20k+ people in the average uni/college here who basically party in real life every day of the week. That chart shows that more people than ever meet in bars and clubs now too. 61% of long term relationships (in the US, in other countries I suspect it's substantially higher) still meet through non-online methods. I suspect the rate of short-term or casual relationships that occur from real life socialisation is really high too.

I can't really think of any social mechanisms that have been removed. I think a more likely frame is that in the past those who were naturally less social did not have any options at all to satisfy social desire other than to get over it and learn socialise. Now the internet gives those people a way to get social stimulation from their couch, but as it turns out that laziness has costs, especially for guys, as their sexual value hinges on social skill. I don't really know if society or dating apps are to blame for that. You're right that they don't help, but they're also not as big of a problem as you make them out to be.
Think of it like this, if we banned dating apps, do you think the percentage of dudes not getting laid would go down substantially?
