Don't frame it as "I do pickup". Girls will not understand this, it sounds creepy to them. Instead she should just sense that you are a highly social guy who goes out a lot, talks to everyone, and is in high demand socially. She should just sense that you are the kind of guy who has no problem getting laid or talking to new girls.
Do not try to explain the technical details of pickup to her. She will not underastand it nor does she care to.
If she asks why you go out so much, tell her you work on your social skills as part of your personal development as a man. I will sometimes just tell girls I approach that I used to be very introverted and work a lot on my social skills.

You got it backwards. Girls are not hot because they are arrogant, they get arrogant because they are hot and have enormous sexual options from a young age. So then they get spoiled because guys throw themselves at these girls and these girls learn from a young age they can use their looks to skate by in life. There are actually practical reasons to use a number system. It's not done for ego. Hot girls require adjustments to ones game. A hot girl can be teased much harder than an average girl who is insecure about her looks. I can call a 10 fat. I cannot call a normal girl fat, she would lose her shit. Hot girls also tend to have a lot more sexual experience so this needs to be taken into account. These are stereotypes but there is some truth in them and making such distinctions helps guys get laid, which is why these distinctions are made by guys.
I am not endorsing this system. I am just explaining why guys use it.
I can often predict whether a girl is a stripper, model, go-go dancer, instagram model, or cocktail waitress just by looking at her body and face.
Also for example if my wing goes to a club and tells me: "This place mostly has 6s and below" I roughly know what he means and then I know it's not worthwhile for me to go to that club. It's gonna be a waste of my time. On the other hand if a wing tells me, "Bro, this place is full of 9s!" I have a reason to go. I could have reached these conclusions myself, but having a reliable wing saves me time. So it becomes a communication tool among guys. It's not totally accurate but it gives guys a general sense of things.
Yeah, a 10 is only a 10 in the eyes of the guy doing the assessment. Obviously it's subjective and guys have a wide range of types.
I have one wing who loves THICK girls with huge asses. I don't find that attractive at all personally.
I have another wing who will only sleep with small, anorexic Asian girls who are not FOB. He thinks that 95% of girls are too fat, even when they aren't. I personally think he's crazy because he passes on a ton of otherwise stunning girls. But that's what he likes. He will only approach skinny Asians. I don't find girls that skinny to be 10s, but that is his 10.
But despite those subjective disagreements, there is wide agreement among people as to what counts as a hot girl. That is why strippers and models get paid for their bodies very consistently. Everyone recognizes a beautiful face or body instantly. Girls recognize it too. Don't pretend like you don't know which of your girlfriends are bombshells. And don't pretend like you don't recognize male-model looking dudes. Our brains are wired to recognize beauty, even if there are subjective quirks in taste.
If I show a photo of a 10 to a group of guys, they will unanimously say, "God damn! You slept with her??? No way!" Plenty of guys will even struggle to believe that is possible. It can shatter a guy's reality to know such things are possible.
From a guy's subjective POV there is a huge difference between having sex with a 6 vs a 10. Many guys might simply be too intimidated to fuck a 10 even if she is begging him for it. Even approaching a 10 is hard for most guys.
You might say this is all shallow and none of this matters. Yeah, for a girl none of this matters. But for a guy it matters very much.

Being drunk actually makes one's game sloppy and ruins odds of pulling.
Maybe 1 drink is okay, but anything beyond that will actually ruin your game if you got good game.
And pulling drunk girls is a huge pain in the ass. Girls who are too drunk become impossible to pull and have sex with. Which is why guys who got good game avoid the most drunk girls. Classic newbie mistake.
Your own mind will trick you like that and get you to believe that having fun with your friend is accomplishing something. It isn't. Fun is fun. But it's not enough to get you the skill set you want.
You must force yourself to approach 10-20 sets each night. No excuses. It's best to start approaching immediately upon walking into the club. The first girl you see, you approach.
Which is why when you get a bit more experience and comfort, you should hit the clubs solo. Solo you can really do some damage in the club. Hanging to your friends too tightly will not allow you to get laid. You must be ready to break off from your friend to approach girls, and bounce them to new locations. It is not enough to just approach a girl and stand with her in the same spot the entire night. Once she's attracted to you, you've got to bounce her as much as possible around the place and then outside the place to other places and ultimately to your apartment. Pickup does not work without leading and bouncing.
Solo is highly efficient. But it's emotionally hard, because when you're out of set you feel very alone.

Do not be detered by rejection or awkard moments. Those are all totally normal and they don't matter. Get very used to girls rejecting you or ignoring you.

After watching just the pathetic bad attitude of many on this forum about girls, i decided to go out and approach as many girls as possible to see what they are like. This is something which i never do, so relax a bit because this is going to be fun for you, lol. The rules before i went out:
- no drinking;
- approaching alone, no wingman;
- try to spend as much time as possible with strangers;
- no pickup lines, authentic conversations.
When i was in the bar, the most difficult thing to do when looking back was the first approach. I just went to do it annyway, which quite surprised me. The conversation was pretty sollid and she laughed a lot, but she had a boyfriend. The following 5 approaches where just like this, everybody had a boyfriend, lol. What also was verry funny to me was when i did the approaches, almost always, the girlfriends of the girl i approach in that instant grap there phone. The girls i approached thus far, where all nice and enjoyed my company. But i wanted to go to another bar to change things. 
The following two approaches in the line-up before the entrance i can just say where the most awkward social experiences i ever had. I asked a girl if she was enjoing her night, she looked me straight into the eyes and then turned away her body. I just didnt experience for her anymore. I was just dumpstruck. The girlfriend of the girl then turned arround and said that i was to nice and must be a fucking dickhead in order to be more attractive. The guys in the line-up just laughed me out, but i didnt give a damn fuck. Went in the bar and approached 2-3 girls, 2 of them where blowouts. The third was a pretty sollid approach but she had a lot of social value so after a while she just ignored me because there where also other guys. What i also found funny was the effect my approaches had on other guys. When you see me rocking it there are no excuses left i gues.
Then i switched bars again and approached 4-5 girls, 2 of them went pretty good and there was physical contact. But one of the girls i approached was 15, so then i stoped. But the other girl liked me untill i said that i went out alone, lol. From that point on the conversation went downhills and the stoped touching me. 
This was my night out, much learned here. In conclusion i can say that my objective was met, but i suck shit in flirting. Like really. If i didnt do a lot of spiritual practices i would have been depressed now because there is much work to do. But im happy i did it annyway, and i will go out at least 1 time a weak to practise this.
