  1. Raymond Dalio is an American billionaire investor, hedge fund manager, and philanthropist. Dalio is the founder, co-chairman and co-chief investment officer of investment firm Bridgewater Associates, one of the world's largest hedge funds. A great human being.
  2. Talking on perspectives, it's interesting to note that the Japanese hear the call of the cat as 'Nyan' and the rest hear it as 'Meow'. Upon careful examination of the call of the cat one can realize that both are right .
  3. Better the vocabulary, better the chances of different perspectives.
  4. Hello! You realising the fact that you have shallow breath already shows that you are one step out of the problem. Just surrending to the concept that you now have shallow breath helps. It could be due to the body being tight that deep breathing is not possible. Yoga really helps loosen the muscles of the body and helps develop natural deep breathing. Basically more relaxed you are, easier it is to breath deeply. Deep breath also helps deal better with trauma which are already stored in the body. Focusing on the breath whole might work too from the other way.. deep breathing relaxes the body.
  5. One of the most interesting topic of psychology is placebo for me and how the mind convinces the reality with the conviction of an idea! Please enlighten us with your deep research skills, the intricacies of Placebos. Interesting story of placebo narrated from my Friend back in college nearly 8 years ago which changed my reality - A prisoner who is sentenced to death is programmed everyday for a prolonged duration that the prisoner on a certain date and a certain time will be given a solution with poison and that solution will kill him. And when the day approaches the prisoner is actually given a solution with just sugar and the prisoner actually dies of it. Not sure of the authenticity of the story but it was interesting at that time. Every pharmaceutical research deals with placebo for a reason and it's very interesting how just the idea of taking a pill actually cures a disease even if it's a fake pill astounds me till date. Also please give us examples like affirmation and so on which help us and other "Placebos" like social conditioning which is harming us.
  6. How the economic machine works by Ray Dalio is an amazing video and depicts perfect yellow characteristics. Very interesting video for generations to come.
  7. It is contextual If you kill a tiger for self preservation then ego is for the win. Fear is good hear, kicks in the fight of flight and gets you ready for survival. If you kill a tiger for trophy then ego has done a bad job. That's why the topic of 7 sins have been passed down through generation to know the evil ways of the ego. But the primary job of ego is the most important and why it has existed and evolved - survival, without that we wouldn't have even existed. My take on it is balance.
  8. Time is unity - what gives meaning to physical matter - from the movie Lucy
  9. @Germo Schedule is right ? You can move to next level once you are comfortable with the concentration for a while. Yes atleast in the beginning minimum reps for preparatory exercises.
  10. Hi Laurastrala, great to hear about your free flows, awesome vipassana sittings must have given you sensitivity in all areas of your body making it easy for you to feel deeper. I used to feel the flow in the center of my body too for the longest time but over time through visualization I am able to feel it through my spine. You should checked out Sushumna Pranayama from Santata Gamana's Kundalini exposed book. I wake up almost every day in the range of 3 30 - 5 am too and if I am unable to go back to sleep I am fatigued too, sleeping early helps me . While trying to go back to sleep focusing on the third eye helps too. I feel you with the energy and being connected to the body, feels amazing!
  11. @Dlavjr Kriya Yoga or Kundalini yoga helps activate and channel through.
  12. I get what you are saying and once you start repeating that pretense of not hearing when someone is speaking for long, placebo takes over and you ll stop hearing. Sounds to me like you are having doubts on the path of spirituality and some day in the future you ll regret going on this path when you see something that once attracted you of other actuality. To know other actualities would give perspective of what other perceptions has in store for your life. For me personally spiral Dynamics was great to understand this and be thankful for where I am. It also set a path and a goal to work towards. Maslow's hierarchy is good too. For me once I understood different psyches it was a no brainer to choose the path of a good and deep life.
  13. There's a saying in my native which says something in the effect of "Something which doesn't change as a plant will never change as a tree" I see this is as more about the rigidity of mindsets and also the additional junk of those people. The work is actually what helps the change. Ofcourse some can get woke without the work but I am guessing the odds are high on that.

  18. Amen! No one's below, no one's above.
  19. The ending totally is!! Goose bumps. I also liked the part where she explains that we are similar to the earthworms that are not able to experience light all around them. In a way we too have teotl all around us and not experience it.
