  1. Yeah just to add to that he said how his weight hasn't shifted more than 2kg since he was 25. He has been practicing Hatha Yoga (specifically Angamardhana) from age 12 to 25 every single day until his enlightenment and apparently that was enough keep him physically fit though out his life until now. That's why he wants more people to learn Hatha Yoga as well But yeah, our preferences of how these Gurus should look like is pure ego and really goes in the opposite direction of what they are talking about in the first place
  2. Where did you learn that story about Sadhguru and his teacher? ?
  3. Wow where did you learn that from about Sadhguru?
  4. Same here! If Leo comes near Netherlands, I'm down
  5. What he talks about when he says that the solar system affects us is that he is trying to show us how in a cosmic scale, we are derived from this solar system and all our energies comes from no where but the sun itself. So there is a very interctate connection between living beings on earth and the solar system itself. So the more aligned we are with the geometry of the sun, the more health benefits we can reap out of it, both psychologically and physiologically. If you check out Sadhguru's videos on "Hatha Yoga" you can get introduced into this more. Also if you are looking for a particular practice that can help you get these health benefits, check out "Surya Kriya" although any Hatha Yoga practice should do but I think this one in particular is quite powerful. You can learn these yoga practices in depth by a certified Isha teacher and they could be found all over the world these days. Type in "Isha Teacher finder" on Google and you can find a teacher close by to you.
  6. Initiations are actual sciences in the yogic cultures but they are quite rare knowledge to the common people. Maybe you won't be able to intellectually understand the whole scope of these sciences but there are bits and pieces of information here and there. In this following article for example Sadhguru talks about how initiation affects him. I hope that it is fine to post these links here. https://isha.sadhguru.org/us/en/wisdom/article/how-initiations-affect-sadhguru Also I think the biography book of Sadhguru called "More than a Life" would also interest you a lot if you are interested about these mystical dimensions that we rarely hear about. Personally I have being part of his Inner Engineering program and all I can say is that I definitely experienced something deep within me which I cannot properly articulate. During his "initiation" during that program, I was overflowing with tears and I did not know why. It was a two day event and it happened on both days. I am doing my daily practices outside these programs ofcourse but I very much would love to also be part of his more advanced programs such as Bhava Spandana or Shoonya. I think his physical form is negligible to what his real true nature represents and that I see as the real inner guru. Sadhguru's physical presence is definitely not a necessity to advance in my spiritual journey but it can definitely be a guidance to a lot of people who cannot easily find that inner guru in the beginning. It is ofcourse important to not end up worshiping these gurus as that is not their real intention Finally here is a video of him explaining the significance of Initiaton
  7. Leo, I always wanted to know your thoughts on Sadhguru after you briefly spoke about him on the Turquoise / Spiral Dynamics episode and noted that he is a very advanced being himself. I have being following his work for a while and gave myself the chance to see him live at one of his events. He repeatedly tells people to not fall into the trap of worshiping him or anyone for that matter and I really resonate with that. It's easy to start worshiping a guru's physical form but what people really miss is the non-physical presence which he really is and that that matters more than his physical presence. I agree that finding the Inner guru is all it really takes to succeed in the spiritual path but beings like Sadhguru have also created huge waves of consciousness in this world. What is your honest opinion of him and have you ever thought of maybe getting guidance under a real guru such as him to boost your spiritual journey? I'm very curious to your opinion.
  8. @moon777light I made an account just to reply to this thread. I actually just learned Surya Kriya from an ISHA certified teacher 2 days ago and I have to say I noticed an immediate effect on my sense perception, both when I was in the process of learning it and practising it at home yesterday and today. There seems to be a very deep and intricate part to Surya Kriya and I am very eager to continue my practices for one mandala cycle (40 - 48 days) and see its benefits. I am a regular practitioner of Kriya Yoga as well (by Lahiri Mahasaya) which was recommended by Leo in his video ''Importance of Real Yoga''. Therefore I immediately felt this sense of change in perception right after trying Surya Kriya. Surya Kriya cannot be taught via a video. I was sceptical as you before but taking part in the session made me realize why I am thankful for not learning it through a video. The reason being that these very powerful techniques of yoga need very careful attention when taught to someone. Every single intricate movement needs to be perfect. The ISHA certified teachers are trained to hand these techniques to you in a very special way. A video would never do justice. Finally, most of these places are specially designed in a way such that the atmosphere greatly helps you with learning these teachings of yoga. I really felt it as soon as I stepped into the hall of my ISHA teacher as I felt naturally meditative. Therefore I highly recommend you to learn Surya Kriya from an Isha Certified teacher if you wish you learn it. Some of the other students who learned with me on that day also were practitioners of Surya Namaskar and my teacher told her to keep practising both Surya Namaskar and Surya Kriya and they don't contradict each other. It's just that Surya Kriya is the original version so to say.
