Not just mindfulness, it's drowning it with unconditional acceptance until you stop demonizing it and it gets assimilated again. Of course, there will be people around you who will try to pull you back down because they have work to do on themselves and get reminded of disowned aspects of themselves and it makes them uncomfortable. To become whole you have to have a big pair of balls otherwise you will just adapt again to what they want you to be. -

@Rilles Every moment of every day. Self love is shadow work. Love everything that arises until it lets you go. That's what I'm doing now. -
I'm not saying love criminal behaviour. I'm saying love your ego, your anger hate disgust attraction infatuation aversion, your perspectives and beliefs. If you are interested in this work then this is what you must do. If you want to be a normal human being with that view then leave spirituality because this is not for you. When you love yourself naturally the duality neutralizes. That's how this thing works. That's how you get peace. Then you can take it further and look at enlightenment and you will also find that you are the one doing all of this. It's your dream, our dream. If You cannot handle that then go do something else because you're wasting your time here with this work. This isn't for the feint hearted.

Rather than taking advice from the outside to "stop judging" which I don't think works, just focus on loving everything that arises for you, even if it contradicts any spiritually material concept like oneness or humility or kindness. The more you do this the more you will naturally rid yourself of the conditioning of your mind that is causing you to see such duality in "the world".

So you're asking us because.... You dont believe them? -
David Hammond replied to SQAAD's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The only way to go about that is to ask an individual directly rather than meta analyzing humanity. Otherwise you can never have a relationship with anyone if you have a pre conceived idea of what they are. Get curious. -

You're thinking in terms of time and space. Nothing was created. Ponder that for a while. -
David Hammond replied to SQAAD's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@SQAAD It can be the desire to be unique, the desire to fit in and be trendy (tats these days are very common), or a parental drive - some of my friends have tatoos of their children's names and birthdays. Lots of reasons. -

Go for it. You ought to be able to take action on doing what you need to do for a guy your age. Enlightenment comes after you have done and seen it all. Then you will know that it's all passing one phenomena. But you had a good time and learned something. That's important, to learn something from your experiences. You came here to have experiences did you not? That's why you manifested into the configuration that you are now- a person, with drives and urges, in a world of "other people" who are also looking for the same thing. At least let God complete his universal purpose through your apparent seperate body. That's why you are here. It's cannot be any other way. -

That's egoic suffering. This won't happen if you identify as your feelings, express them fully to yourself while feeling them viscerally and then totally totally accepting yourself in this expression at the moment exactly as you are. Keep on practicing radical self acceptance until your perspective of yourself shifts and you understand without a doubt that these expressions are the highest love that you have been seeking all along and suffering because you couldn't find it -

Self inquiry is what I've just described. I don't ask questions, I just sit on that boundary I feel until I'm not aware of it anymore. -

@Inliytened1Hi my friend. @cetus56 please let me address this because I think it will be useful? You say your ego has to die for you to wake up to yourself, right? That is the case for either drug experiences or not having enough training in states - which you can earn from a recognized dzogchen lineage holder, or someone respectable in adwiata or a real enlightened one man band (very very hard to find, you won't find it on youtube). State training which I am talking about is how the Buddah became enlightened. That's a story given to us from the Buddhist science of enlightenment and the Buddahs realization is a science that can be practiced and eventually nirvana can be attained. Permanent enlightenment. Enlightenment is also a process if you look at it from a different way. It's called the noble path. I speak of that a lot. But as far as being nothingness having an ego as opposed to being an ego with a memorable non dual experience, the difference is permanent enlightenment and intellectual understanding. Bodhi is intellect, and in a Buddah the bodhi is also awakened. That's because intellect is needed in being able to see through what causes separation. Without the development of bodhi you are basically pissing in the wind with your practice because you cannot get to permanent realization without understanding the steps. And that requires practice. Nothingness or God is reality, but experience tells us that you and I as nothingness is an ego inside a body and the evidence of this is sensation tied to belief. That belief and sensation never goes away. And you don't want it to go away either. Because being nothingness is not what you want because you will just be a mess. I had a discussion on here about ramana maharshi and i said that ramana was a mess. He wasn't trained by a swami, he just woke up and let his body be eaten by rodents and didn't care. That's why he got arthritis in his hips? Who knows? But there are certain consequences you pay for ignoring samsara. But the belief and sensation can be seen directly for what they are if you are already disidsntifed from the body and mind as the witness. Once you are the witness all you need to do is put attention on the sensation of boundary between body and world and eventually the boundary will collapse and you will wake up from the dream as the universe. But for the witness already not identified with body and mind it's a very small step from being formless witnessing presence realizing that this presence is not local. It's everything. So no ego death required. Just skill and understanding. That's what this meditation practice will do for you. If you feel you are dying then you are still the body or mind. When you say you're enlightened I know you are not because you have not done the work to understand all of these stages of meditation states. No hard feelings and I'm not saying you didn't have a bona fide experience either. I don't know. But what i do know is that you speak from ego as if it is real. When you speak as nothiness having an ego then you can be called a master of the work. -

@Shin I am talking about the personality. That's perfect and needs to hear that it's perfect You dont respect me because you don't respect yourself. Until you learn to love.eveything about you like a child then you won't understand. Yeah I need to organize my house and take out the trash. Chop wood carry water, but not the same attitude towards my person. -

You're trying to change me. This is about you, not me. -
David Hammond replied to Ponder's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This is all you. Your thoughts are not reality. I'm a very nice person and I'm an ethical person. I followed the path of the middle way and earned my right to enlightenemnt. I'm not diplomatic and I think that upsets people here because self development is what you do. Leo is an extremely judgemental person who basically looks down on the majority of people in the world. I think when you follow a person like that you resonate with them or even try to emulate them. Self development isn't actually supposed to be like that, it's supposed to be about loving whatever arises in you to death until you stop demonizing it. You demonize me, that your problem. That's your cross to bear. I'm not saying that change cannot happen, I'm saying that change happens by itself when it's ready. The shadow is the way it is because of people like you, people who destroy a child's self worth by badgering them until the meet your demonic ideolization of a plastic person and what they should be in order to accomdate their insecurities. Everyone I know loves me. Because they actually know me, they are not reading squiggles on a screen and interpreting that according to their own damaged self image. Try not to be so personal. I never harassed anyone on here. -

I know you're not enlightened. It's ok. Bullshit is everywhere. Do you speak your suspicions everywhere? Why not make peace with the universe? It's all you any way? Why fight it? Make peace with yourself and you will find that you really don't care what people say. At this point you do care and are pretending to not care. So the bullshitter is you. It's all you. -

Let's take a moment to reflect on this situation. You're telling me what to do. Literally forcing me to live upto your ideals when we have evidence in this thread that you are delusional and an ego who had an experience of your true self. You're the Zen devil here In just going about my business. The only thing I said is that I'm enlightened and now all hell has broken lose. I've never forced anything on anyone here. I'm the most peaceful nicest sweetest guy you will ever meet. Everyone who knows me thinks I'm great company and I'm humble. I accept everyone for what they are. How does that make me a devil? -
David Hammond replied to Ponder's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Why are you trying to change me? Lamo! What is it with you? This should be the first thing that goes even after one non dual experience.. yet here you are hammering on -
David Hammond replied to Ponder's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
But you're not enlightened. Until you get there you won't understand. I know it's cheesy but it's the truth. -

The personality canmot be changed. It can soften with time. But I have only just recently become permanently enlightened. When you become enlightened all you can do is accept yourself. Change happens by itself. But I literally cannot "change" me because that would be nonsensical. I've already said I'm a shitty teacher. I'm not nahm, he and I had different experiences and parents. Ask him if you are not sure, he will tell you that personality is perfect as it is. I don't hate anyone because I dug into the shit and saw my own reflection. How can I hate anyone now? No one on this planet can upset me because I'm the worst of them and the best of them. The only way you can describe reality is not two but not one either. One implies another. One isn't even happening, nothing is happening. No other way to explain it.. -

You do have. Ego hates. We are both the same universe and the same ego appearing as nothing. I get it, but you don't understand that the ego must be included
