I think one of the main miscommunications was @Princess Arabia wants to address the problem from a societal root cause and @Something Funny is addressing the importance of the individuals foot print on society and how that is still a important responsibility. I would say there both important. From a personal point of view i try to strike a balance between them as going over board on personal foot print tends not to be the most wise use of ones time like never buying anything with plastic and avoiding every capitalist consumer issue, but there is alot that personal responsibility does for society and the main one is you want to walk the talk and lead by example.
