It's an apparatus which links the inner world with the perception of the outer world. You don't even have to get rid of it and it isnt a bad thing if you're living as a good person and getting rid of it doesn't necessarily mean happiness, fulfillment or meaning in life. -

Just because someone is blissed out and transcended their ego doesn't mean they are a good teacher or able to manage a spiritual community. You can even be a bad person without an ego. -

I would prepack and precook food so all your meals just require heating something up or scooping something out of a bowl or chopping up a piece of fruit. Might be daunting to prepare meals every day the deeper you go. Maybe take Sunday as a rest day and use it to prep for the week? -

You are in the present moment all the time. Are you talking about calming your thinking mind and resolving emotional issues which keep you free having control over your mind ? -

@Leo Gura would you say bad trips are akin to dark night of the soul experiences through meditation? I had a few bad trips and I found working through and with this devil has been a lot more efficient and effective with Ayahuasca... and full of LIFE AND LOVE AND SPIRIT... where when I was doing Vipassana it was more traumatic and lacking love and full of so much delusions and solid physical... I can sit now with my legs crossed for some time after using psychadelics whereas before five minutes with my legs crossed and i literally felt like a hot block of melted Chernobyl concrete... left me with a lot of problems actually and I can see now how problems mixed with certain meditation traditions can be just as dangerous as the wrap psychadelics get. I don't want to become dogmatic and rigid or stage blue with a modality personally (still honor, thank, surrender to it, etc.) because I don't think THAT the modality itself is all of God but I think every modality is different and each technique is important depending in the person, their past, their problems, their physical shape/illness/mind, etc. It's so paradoxical and confusing and beautiful.

Quite beautiful. I feel grateful my body is young so I can fully open my heart and have some time to stay here while it's open. -
What have you tried before?

This really is a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing. -
I think it's fear and doubt in their own path or on the flip side of the coin it's not seeing how many paths lead to love and divinity.

There is confusion and there isn't. The mind body and soul exist and are there to help. step aside and grow into the tree you were always going to be. It's time to wake up. -
Remember, first hand experience is number one. Don't take someone else's word on anything. Try what you wish and wish what you try. Trust your heart and you will never wander far.

Making what I think is real progress and becoming happy only for it to come crashing down and to feel completely destroyed, foolish and demoralized for thinking it was possible to be happy

I agree, changing environments is very powerful and can be very helpful. Some feelings still follows though which can lead to different bad habits but the benefits are there and it's worth it to move.

Feeling completely unlovable and like a cancer on society Feeling completely trapped with no hope of change for the better and wasting away in such a state Feeling shut off and unwanted by anyone Feeling of having to face inner pain and like it is an endless ocean that can't be crossed Feeling helpless to do anything due to forces truly out of my control

Interesting. So this is to block recommendations and distractions?

I think it's important to do both consciousness work and personal development. Surrendering fully to a spiritual practice and living in semi or full renunciation I think can sometimes not be the best choice while for others it could be. For me I feel I have some sort of purpose here on earth. I want to better myself and help others as well and I've found deceptive spiritual stuff like feeling like "what's the point if life doesn't matter and ego just ensures suffering only" is just another emotional wave of wanting something and various other beliefs and feelings hidden underneath or connected in some way. It's all bunch of tangled rope and for some just dropping the rope altogether but clearly that isn't the case or everyone would be enlightened so I reject this approach. Consciousness work should be practiced along side our daily lives or what else is the point if it isn't being put to use in situations which make it valuable such as conflict?

there aren't really any "meant" or "shoulds" with either of these modalities. they're very open and the only hard rules for them is safety, not doing them in a dangerous place or standing, etc. both are basically just about building some momentum up with the breath, following it and letting go. wim hof adds a little more structure to it sometimes and holotropic takes more structure away but that's about it. there is a video course on the wim hof site and through the various guided recording they sometimes prioritize a sort of breath sprint experience and others it's just kinda going along with the feeling. you can do it sitting, with music, without, for just a few rounds, or as many rounds totally 3 hours. -
It won't give you a more fulfilled life but being satisfied sexually really allows for some breathing room and the opportunity to have deeper insights and further understanding of emotions as well as the ever changing nature of the terrain that is reality. I would say it's like having enough money to not be in super survival mode all the time. It's really difficult to make deep inner changes if you're having to worry about where your next meal will come from or if you can afford rent. Same with food and water. You can survive okay on one meal a day of a little protein and water but that isn't enough food to climb a mountain. I think sex is comparable. It's possible to prioritize it too much and make it soulless kind of like McDonald's but even a little McDonald's every now and then isn't the end of the world. I would say it's a force that comes after food, water, and more basic stuff but we have it and it needs to be honored. I'm found not only the act of sex but everything that leads up to it like dating, the suspense and all that can really show all sorts of stuff about oneself and pinpoint areas of insecurity.

Wim Hof and holotropic breathwork are almost exactly the same technique and are easily interchangeable and both can actually be integrated together. The only difference in the breathing I would say is that Wim Hof takes on a slightly more masculine approach with how when it's practiced they break up the breathing into sets and give the practice a bit more structure with holding the breath when you feel your experience peak. With holotropic breathwork they get you started with the first round of breathing and basically set you free from there to follow your mind, release, go on a journey, whatever. It's a more free form approach. Wim Hof technique varies this up as well and has basically incorporated holotropic breathwork. Sometimes during Wim Hof workshops they will do a 1 hour free breath which is basically holotropic breathwork. During other sessions they will do 3 sets of 60 breaths or 5 sets or 60, etc. Both techniques play music during group practices but holotropic breathwork stresses this more such as saying follow the feelings from the music. There is a more gentle, feminine apraoch with holotropic breathwork with the music and art expressions after a session. Wim Hof they do say to follow your breath and not push it as well like in holotropic breathwork. I would say the techniques are basically exactly the same but Wim Hof they give you a few more tools and some slight variations on the structure of the practice. I've found knowing both to be beneficial because sometimes I want a bit more of a push while practice which Wim Hof does with the structured sets and other times I want to just let go and focus less on the breathe and more on the music and experience which holotropic breathwork does. They're both completely interchangeable. -

I've done it for an hour before on my own. It's quite safe but to work through things it can be important to have a facilitator there to guide you better into the emotions and get you to release them. For this I allow myself to tense up and push against the tension and do what my body wants. I'm thinking a weighted blanket and something heavy to push up like a sand bag could be useful for releasing during the breathing. -

Nice write up. I did 50 minutes of a holotropic / wim hof breathwork last night and I had a similar experience. I feel my body get tense and I can feel these blockages, not sure how to describe them, but it's like they're holding where all my negative states are I think (not 100% sure on this from my own experience). I feel like sobbing right now. I did a holotropic breath work seminar last summer and had a similar experience but was less willing at the time to wonder into the tension in my body and I am also SUPER self conscious as a man to cry and let stuff out in any sort of group setting so I found myself just stopping where the tension is and not journeying into. I'm going to start doing long sessions of this modality daily I think for the next week and see where it takes me. If I think it is something I can use as my daily practice I may start doing 30-1 hour a day. It seems to bring up stuff and make me feel more aware but not a sort of clear/empty aware but like stuff I'm holding onto. I've been grumpy today and told my friends I felt this way. They asked why and I just wanted to snap at them and to mind their own business and that sometimes it's fine to feel this way so shut the fuck up but reframed from doing so. I think this practice is good but don't push it too hard or it can bring up a lot of stuff and you might not be in the position to work through it and thus give yourself hard days without the proper space to work through it. -

Some say he was full of love and compassion for those torturing him and all of humanity as he died. Some teachers aren't as far along as we would like to believe. Also, that doesn't make their teaching useless. I think that's why it's important to not defend, idolize or speculate about teachers. How far along is superfluous. It's about following and cultivating our intuition and treating what works for ourselves. The guru is ourselves, not someone else, so it doesn't matter if someone is only partially awoken or truly purified and enlightened. -

Listening to the podcast and really feel for the guy. You can tell he is on a journey and still always growing. We all are.
