I've really gotten into reading over the past year or so, and it's started to become one of my favorite hobbies! My question today is if anyone has any tips to read more? Right now I turn off all technology an hour before bed to get my reading in for the day, but I'd love to hear any more tips. What's worked for you? Thanks in advance for the responses!

Thanks to everyone for all of the advice, I'll definitely give it a shot! I'll also check out Leo's video on this as well, I haven't seen that yet. -

What do you recommend instead? Thanks for the response! -
Like others have said, what if you flipped that idea? What if instead of thinking "Why do x, we're just going to die anyways," you think "Why not do x, we're just going to die anyways?" There is a real freedom in that mentality, and I hope you're able to find peace and hopefulness on your path!

I've really found just diving into my feelings of fear with self-compassion has been super helpful. Just sitting and embracing those feelings, while comforting myself tends to drive away the worst of the feelings pretty consistently. There's this psychologist named Kristin Neff who has some self-compassion exercises and meditations that have been really useful for me, and I think they could be useful for you too. If you just google her name, you should be able to find her site. I especially recommend the "soften, soothe, allow" meditation.

I think this is something that is constantly changing and needs to be constantly sought. For example, your life purpose at 25 is likely to be very different from your life purpose at 40. I think there are some things you can do to figure it out at whatever stage of life you're at right now. Some specific things I would recommend are: Taking action and doing stuff: The more you put yourself out of your comfort zone, and the more things you try, the more of an opportunity you have to develop and discover your passions and purpose in life. Join a club, try a sport, meet new people, and just generally put yourself out there! Read and Learn: We are super fortunate to live in an age with more knowledge readily available to us than at any other time. Starting the habit of reading books, taking courses, and just generally educating yourself can help you to discover your passion and purpose as well. If you're looking for a place to start, I recommend a book called "The Happiness of Pursuit" by Chris Guillebeau. Self Reflection: I set aside a few hours every month to just reflect on the previous month, set goals for the upcoming month, and do a little introspection. Setting up a similar system for yourself can help keep you on track and make progress factor. Good luck with your journey!

I feel like our subconscious is such a complex entity and often the only way it communicates with us is through feelings. I've started diving into and embracing my feelings and have found it to be very productive in dealing with issues and also just feeling good in general.
