Because the month you are born in determines how you are being treated by your parents and teachers. A child born in Jan-Feb are generally bigger sized than peers of the same year. They are treated as leaders of the group and are also treated to be smarter in junior school. Children tend to be precocious and arrogant. But things taper off after they grow up. Those born in March are super friendly. Those born in April are very hard-working. Those born in June tends to take a neutral stand to most things. Those born in Aug, Sept are hardworking esp at younger ages. Born in Nov, Dec tend to be followers when young. But things taper off once they grow up.

What if now you are told to pick between $50 and a gold bar worth $20000? Now between a gold bar and a lovely wife? Now between a lovely wife and born and living in very poor state in say Africa or living as middle class in America? Now what do you choose between $10 mil dollars, dying today vs living frugally for 100 years. Do you desire health? Maybe your definition of desire and Buddha's definition of desire are different so you see things differently.

Haha reminded me when I visited my prof last time. I was desperate because I had to score a good grade for my honours. I visited my prof quite a number of times on my own accord, just knocking on the door and see. But it's not as easy as you think. You still have to be polite, respectful and you have to come up with work to show and discuss with your prof. If not, he will brush you off and tell you go back and do this n that. In the end, i did get the grade (Grade B+) I need to get the honours I want.

I am not American but I think America should just readjust their presidential term from 4 years to 5 years. Absolutely too much time wasted on election campaigns. Out of the 4 years in their term, half a year is spent on celebrating their victory and another year on campaigning for the next election and talking about it after that. Plus, there's state elections and house of representative elections plus more. Simply waste too much time and money!
