But the Chinese did unite a vast piece of land with a huge population and managed to get everyone to use and write the same language thanks to the draconian rules used by former emperors. Other books that you can read are Atlas Shrugged, The Fountain head by Ayn Rand and The Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey. This is called going down the rabbit hole.

If you find that guys are just trying to take advantage of you/sleep with you, then you need to love yourself and simply decide that you will say no to sex until both of you reach a very deep stage in your relationship (because you love yourself). You like to test other guys but have you ever thought how guys test you? Most guys (with lower morals)'s Modus Operandi is this: Either a life partner or a sexual partner. According to Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, you need to fulfill the lower needs before you can work on self-actualizing. You don't really need major success but you need a surplus of air, food, water, security etc before you can focus on self actualizing.

I don't seek enlightenment. I have some spare cash but I am still very much in the survival stages of fear, shame, guilt n hunger. I only hope to tap in and assess more divine energy through the books and resources. I am just curious about other religions but you are right, there will be dogmas attached and these may interfere with enlightenment work.

Yes. I am born a Buddhist though I am not in India or China. I know some concepts and cultures of Buddhism having being born and raised in them. I read some Buddhist scriptures but they don't get to me easily. Later on, I also read some books and scriptures on Christianity. It was very challenging to engage the Bible so I read some interpretations of it. I told my parents that I want to be a Christian and they were open-minded about it. The concepts in Christianity are more relatable to me but in the end though I attend some Church events and stuff, I am still not baptised. I also read Conversations with God. The book is actually anti-Christianity. It talks about how We are One and Everything is God. I also read some other spiritual texts.

Hi all, I would like to know how do you discover the divine power within you? Do you have any strategies or tips that you use to realise the divine power within you? Other than through Meditations, what other methods do you use?

Ego is defined differently by different people. Even teachers like Eckhart Tolle defined them differently from world renowned psychologists or other self help gurus.

Of course, the ego and self-image are related. There are healthy ego and bad ego. In this case, we will refer ego as mainly bad. The self-image is what you think of yourself as. For example, if you think of yourself as someone who is capable of earning 50k a year and nothing more, you will act in accordance to that image. So once you earn an amount similar to 50k a year, you will stop working so hard and think it's enough. After contemplation, you now want to see yourself as earning more eg 100k per year or more. But what you see is different from what you feel. So your ego will come out and say 'No, you are not good enough' 'You can't do that' etc.

Your mind's job is to protect you from danger so it will come up with all kinds of dangers that might happen. For example, if you want to go bungee jumping, it will tell you the danger of heights and falling to death. If you want to drive fast car, it will stop you from going so fast.

Hmmm what about intangible qualities like fear, shame and guilt? Is God in them? I mean, the Bible mentioned that God is Love. So if everything is God or everything is in God, then can we say fear and shame is also in God or is it just your own interpretation of things.

Yes it is worth reading scriptures. However, I think I learn faster when I read through interpretations of scriptures. I was not spiritual when I was young. Always been a very Science person. I never read a single religious text till I was age 25 or so. Guess that's how I did so well for my Bachelor degree with Honours. But I need a lot of help when reading spiritual texts.

But other than happiness, what else do we have? I mean is Happiness the same as love? What about peace, joy, energy, excitement?

They are essentially similar. If you really want to make a distinction, you can say that screening tests are purposeful and conscious to the person giving the test. For example, asking how old are you and what do you do for a living? But shit test can be subconscious and happens automatically. Like if a waiter ask a couple a question, the lady will usually keep quiet first to see how her partner respond first. Then when making payment, the lady will usually keep quiet first. That's a shlt test.
