What a thread. Does heroin bring you closer to God? Does 5 MeO DMT bring you closer to God? Does using heroin daily for a protracted period bring you closer to God? Does using 5 MeO DMT daily for a protracted period bring you closer to God? Does the OP note the difference between these scenarios and the consequences implied? If Full Actualization is to merge the self with God and realise the Truth of who "you" are then an agent which makes you feel utterly complete and devoid of any fear of dying can bring you closer to God-Consciousness. This does not mean repeated injudicious use will give the same outcome. -

Sixteen hours a day has been done by some without too much trouble- Lt Colonel John Paul Vann (US army, Vietnam- deceased) had a regime of 8 hours work, 4 hours sleep and repeat (ie twice the normal standard productivity per 24 hours) which he sustained for years . Back in the day as a junior doctor doing 100 hours a week and on occasion 56 hour shifts (9am Saturday to 5pm Monday) was not uncommon. This training can be useful but leaves a mark which lingers and leads to some degree of psychological dysfunctional adaptation in many. Hence the drinking culture which plagues the profession and can become a lifelong trait. Enjoy your relaxation but as with all things, moderation. -

Dissociatives (Ketamine, PCP, DXM, MXE etc) are psychologically addictive for many users and clearly problematic for some. They are however profoundly psychedelic and can provide insights which make the usual agents (LSD, psilocybin, mescaline) seem positively 2-dimensional. This does not alter the observation that with considered conscious use they can allow one to deconstruct aspects of the self in a fashion closer to 5 MeO DMT than the more standard compounds. They are just another valuable tool the use of which requires wisdom on the part of the user. -
We frequenters of Actualized.org love Truth. Here is some Truth - 1. Unless you have had your LSD analysed you cannot rely on your suppliers assertions re the dosage. Marketing is after all a thing; 2. I've been called a nit-picker for questioning dosages and here I go again. Milligrams of LSD? And 200mg (eg 1/5th of a gram which equals 200000mcg) tabs? Come on people- ignorance is a poor ally in this work; 3. Taking lots of psychedelics with poorly considered intentions , lots of expectations and little integration is wasteful and short-sighted. There is a limit to what they can do for you and should be used skilfully to facilitate the work rather than believing they do the work for you. 4. Overuse causes diminishing returns.

Infinity would be better replaced with the word Unfinity ie un-finite ie without limit including those imposed by the concept of time. -

I think its more complex. Ultimately, "Being" is all that there is. "Being", abiding unsullied by any overlay of judgements can be after the bells and whistles full blown (but rare) sudden and dramatic event, or it can prevail through sustained inner work to deconstruct any overlying judgements, or can appear to "be" if neither of these has occurred and is held slyly by the ego as an obscure belief. The latter is a trap which is a form of short-term bypassing which will thwart a truer realization from unfolding. Radical uncompromising self-honesty is required. What is "normal self-esteem"? Usually a product of a less dysfunctional childhood and nurturing than many receive. Healing and alignment with Truth works both ways, but make sure the healing part is not assumed to have happened. For most who have it, low self-esteem (which is not aligned with truth) needs addressing head-on to dismantle the notions which underpin it and this is where the work lies. It is the difference between "lip-service to Being", or "Being, Undivided". -

IMHO, the essence of what Leo says is spot-on, but making a vid when he hadn't properly integrated his experience leads to the incautious use of words which can be latched on to concretely whilst missing the message he meant to convey. What is "one year doing psychedelics"? Acid every Wednesday, DMT every third Tuesday and 5 Meo on every prime number of the month? What is 20 years meditating? Daily productive 1 hour sits, or being distracted twice daily for 20 minutes? "Psychedelics are 20x more powerful than meditating" is meaningless. So, the best measure of the efficacy of psychedelics is the production of a musical composition or a book? Rather a limited view methinks. Psychedelics will show you more efficiently and rapidly than any other modality (IMO) , and for some very traumatically, how ones head is full of ones own constructed bullshit and the limiting effects this has as it permeates through ones whole life. And the paradox of this bullshit is often those carrying the most are the least aware of its presence. They really are remarkable. But it is not as simple as "take psychedelic, get enlightened", there is real work to do which is just facilitated by the compounds. And this work is intense and not for everybody, hence my unease at the blanket recommendations sometimes made that these are a magic pill that everyone should use. If you consider the quality and often masterful insights Leo presents in his vids, then that should speak for itself. And I don't agree with all his stuff but my own experiences gel with his expositions. But in terms of "showing" they are better then Leo cannot in the way you would prefer. Direct experience is the only way to "see". -

A great demonstration of how flexibility of thinking exists on a continuum and is somewhat predicated on ones experiences, which underpin beliefs. "Sorry" is purported to be the hardest word to say; I think the phrase "I don't know" would appear to be harder. -

High-dose LSD is an arduous business and increases the chances of the experiencing not "grinding fine" as Bache states- the duration alone can allow such far out levels of consciousness to evolve to make integration difficult. Worth experiencing if only the once. Too much illumination for too long is toxic to "spiritual sight" and can blind. Even the 20 minutes under 5 MeO (whose illumination is not the same as high-dose LSD) has damaged some. Once one has grasped these realms lower doses with clear intentions are so much more productive for re-sculpting the "self" instead of just demolishing it. -

This is a good thread, and I like OPs thoughts- which are fully real, but not in the way that they might appear (to some). And that IMHO is the crux. Using a glib medical analogy- many here seem to be "making themselves ill" working on developing TonyParsonsitis or a Malignant JimNewmanoma. The Advaita-tron abiding in Non Dual reality still has bills to pay and interestingly (or sinisterly/perversely) they achieve this by feeding their non-existent bodies on the wages of the seekers. Its less hard to be "peaceful and enlightened" when your crust comes from talking to a rapt audience than if you had to do a job which required ready access to knowledge (ie no 20 second pauses before acting) with really "real" consequences if not done well. Think of a pilot or a neurosurgeon. Overthink a little less but skilfully use the ability (or "burden") of thinking and purify your intentions. Live the life and realise that flexibility of where one chooses to be grounded as it all proceeds is the route to a less miserable constricted life. The world does not really need more gurus. -

He is wearing black because it absorbs "the light of consciousness" whereas white reflects it. My take on this vid- as someone who has taken psychedelics literally hundreds of times, alone, over a 30+ year period: -He is right insofar as they are incredible tools for this work but when you actually analyse what he says in this vid it is nothing but a re-hash of many of his prior insights, now couched under the umbrella term "miracle"; -He demonstrates disdain, condescension and an incredible amount of hubris which is not that rare in the post-honeymoon period of sustained psychedelic use; -He is right that the progress these tools allow cannot typically be achieved with the more established modalities especially meditation, but he risks a correspondingly more dark "Dark Night of the Soul" unless he reflects a little on this path; -He as far as I can tell has not smoked DMT or 5 MeO DMT and yet if he claims that his approach is to really get the deepest insights then he should. Forget the self-serving claim that these ROAs are too fast for "the work". They have much to offer the serious seeker. Speaking the Truth, even if blunt, should not be avoided because of the notion of how "The Enlightened" should present themselves, and no-one can accuse Leo of being so bashful. I reckon if he were to watch this vid in 5 or so years, I suspect his own Loving, Truth-telling Infinite Consciousness may cringe. Leo- "think of the children" who cling to your every word despite your disingenuous caveat that you are not telling anyone what to do. Your clear knowledge of human nature should really give you pause for thought. -

Another doctor here. Good to see a sound comment. Expect to see this countered with stuff along the lines of "but that's just the body;its not consciousness which is the real SELF which cannot die". -

Understanding the nature of thought through thought is a fools errand but that doesn't mean metaphors cannot capture aspects of the essence of the question. Serotoninluv has a good "grasp" of this IMO. Heres another metaphor which is again limited but "sheds some light" on the matter. Picture a small pan sitting atop a gas hob, containing simmering water, with a transparent lid covering it. The gas is the energy source, the bubbling water is the "sea" of consciousness and the whole is unseparated through the bottom of the pan. The steam in the pot are like thoughts arising, an unavoidable consequence of the energetic process and these are the same as the water but in a different form. These coalesce on the inside of the lid to form water droplets, the same as the steam and water in the pans' base, but "lacking" in the energy of the other 2; inevitably they fall back into the water and become united with the source. The illusion is created by the mind thinking the steam can take the form of ice if so willed, rendering them solid. This is at variance with the process which has been described and is as it is, despite what the steam might wish. It flows, it takes forms but in reality there is nothing which has or could change. (Insight on LSD-25 and methoxetamine). -

To be on the safe side don't listen to random advice on the webz before knowing which species of mushroom you are using. All the respondents are assuming you are taking P Cubensis in which case 1g is a fair point to start if dried; 1g fresh will do very very little. If you are taking P Azurescens then 1g dried could slap you quite hard. For an "awake" place on the net there are a nauseating amount of assumptions being made daily, and an overwhelming amount of obeisance to The Appeal to Authority concept. -

Some personal musings on the above: Bufo as a way of "getting" 5 MeO is a total crapshoot- the percentage can be upto 25+% which means 93mg could cripple you.And why 93mg and not, say, 90 or 95mg? The facilitator is risking the well-being of the user due to assumed proficiency as a healer when they really have little claim to such a title. The words above also imply a subconscious set of assumptions regarding an outcome, reified through conceptual notions of what non-duality actually "IS". And the experience has been deemed a failure, re-strengthening the desire to search more seriously henceforth. As Leo has often opined- the mind is a tricky beast. Sometimes, what we desire when bestowed proves to be radically at odds with our notions whether or not we "know" we have them. When its embodied that we really know nothing, what we receive becomes what we sought, which simply is. 5 MeO is like a modern-day ramp allowing one to more efficiently do the labour which could also be done through other methods like the well-established modalities such as meditation, yoga etc. Like being on top of a hill and trying to steer a heavy boulder to the plain below instead of just letting it fall under its own weight and gravity. -

Awakenings I think are as varied as the egoic structures which need dismantling to reveal/ return to the source. Commonalities will be there but so will nuances. Things may be non-dual but reintegration will reflect in some ways what had to be worked through as the process continues. "IT" affirms ITSELF, and is utterly boundless. -

Nitrous oxidises cobalamin (vitamin B12) making it ineffective as a co-factor for an enzyme called methionine synthase which is vital for methylation of nucleic acid components. Long term consequences include blindness, dementia, peripheral nerve damage, spinal cord damage with consequent weakness/sphincter problems/balance issues. -

Place a Cheeto in the palm of your hand, seeing there is no separation. That, right there, is infinity. How does it feel? Eat it, and how does that feel? Infinite. (Cheetos- How did enlightenment happen in far-off lands where Cheetos weren't? I often wonder...….). -

Much of the ayahuasca-related purging comes from tannins which enter the brew from the leaf material. Techniques exist to remove these which reduce the vomiting . This can also be largely avoided by using a concentrated caapi extract and extracted DMT. I personally think that the shamans know their prep is GI irritant, accept that purging is probable and choose to frame this as cathartic, which typically feeds into the expectations of the (Western) drinker. So the idea feeds expectation and manifests as "real". I have also not found mescaline (as the hydrochloride salt) when extracted from Peruvian Torch to be nauseating but consuming masses of raw/dried cactus would certainly increase the likelihood. -

^^ Dilaudid aka hydromorphone when taken IV exceeds the pleasure factor of IV heroin because the former crosses the blood-brain barrier faster. When taken orally its less impressive. As un-politically correct it may be to say it, opiates are entheogenic in their own peculiar way. As is well known, their ability to hijack the mechanism of the egos construction detrimentally is almost unrivalled. "You would have to be brainless to not enjoy opiates". Literally brainless and not in the "brains don't exist"* fashion. *attributed to L Gura. -

Leo, the aim is not to contradict you in any way. Have you experienced vaporized DMT at any time, particularly at the breakthrough level? I would love to get your take on it.
