I don't understand humans anymore. How does this man even exist? https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-says-he-had-every-right-interfere-2020-election-2024-09-02/ -

How do you get through to someone like this I wonder? I've been thinking about this and have no good answers. I've know people like this in my own life but they would never have a serious discussion about it. Which is why I thought this was an interesting opportunity. The conversation always breaks down at why. I assume because they literally don't know why themselves. -

You guys want to wax philosophical. I don't want to imagine possible answers. I want real answers from the person in front of me. -

What religion? Who is teaching you these things? Why does it matter it it's not normal? How is it hurting anyone? Why do we need to put a stop to it? How is it hurting society? Straight people can be turned gay but gay people can't be turned straight? What if they go to confessional and repent? You keep stating what you believe. Over and over... I am not asking you what. I am asking you why? I am assuming your answer will be "my father and/or preacher told me and I believed them and never looked into it or questioned it further." "Also I met a pushy gay person once so that proves it." -

I assume this person is heavily brainwashed and all their family and friends probably feel the same way he does. For him to change might be like someone trying to leave Scientology. So just survival? What's deeper than that? -

That's what I'm asking him to explain. I've been trying to contemplate it since I was sucked into this thread. Some please illuminate me. None of what this person is saying makes sense to me. -

Why would this be harmful to society? I don't understand. -

Why!!!! What will happen to society? -

This is so shitty. Fox news and republicans in a nutshell. If the only way you can win is through lying, you don't see that as maybe the wrong side? The fact that you were wondering if you could run as a democrat in the first place is my point. How could you have ever thought that would work? You really had to ask someone else? Consider this is a strong example of your lack of critical thinking. Honestly the fact that people like you exist is really disturbing me lately. This election, trump, project 2025...dammit... -

So, gay "children of men"? I don't understand. Even if some people could be turned gay. Why is that dangerous? What will happen to society? -

If you run for office will you be honest about your policy to criminalize homosexuality? Or are you trying to hide it from people and do it secretly? I don't understand how you think you can run and win as a democrat. Why do you think the people on this site would want to help you do that? It's absurd. It's seems like satire performed by someone even more bored than me. -

You have not explained this at all. What is dangerous about it? -

How many gay people did you know that tried to do this? None of my gay friends and family were ever trying to "influence" me. Their gayness usually never even comes up. Turns out we can just talk to each other like people and not have it be about sex at all. This is just bigoted childlike thinking. "I got robbed by a black guy one time so that must mean all black people are criminals" -

Maybe you are confusing what is true for you with what is true for everyone else. I had a gay friend when I was younger and had no female prospects. I could have had sex with him at almost any point. I never did because I'm just not into it. I'm not gay and you can't turn me gay. I probably could have had sex with my dog too. But I didn't do that either because I'm not sexually attracted to dogs. Could you force yourself to be attracted to animals? I personally cannot. But that just might be my own shortcomings... -

That's precisely why he won't tell us how. If everyone knew about this, we'd all be converted and there would be no more families or future. It would be like a gay version of that movie "Children of men". -

Or this is a projection? -
I don't really disagree with most of that. I've noticed some of the negative effects of too much porn consumption at certain points in my life. When I said "It's necessary for your sanity" I was trying to be amusing and hyperbolic I guess. I meant it in the context of going from a situation where you are having sex at least once a day. To having a newborn, no time or energy, sex is temporarily off the table and you aren't even aware of the concept of something like nofap. Or maybe at certain points in your life when you are more focused on school or career. In my anecdotal evidence, moderate viewing of non abusive porn can be a good outlet temporarily. I do not agree that porn viewing leads to infidelity at least for me. I wouldn't cheat in the first place but if anything having porn as an option for when she is unavailable makes it even less likely. Sorry I am a poor communicator.

This was the conclusion of the updated study he is citing? So maybe not cancer stopping, but still beneficial? Also, I could've told that survey exactly how often I was having orgasms between the ages of 20 and 29. I know my routine and not much has changed. 5. Conclusions This large prospective study provides the strongest evidence to date of a beneficial role of ejaculation in prevention of PCa, a disease for which relatively little is understood about etiology generally and knowledge of modifiable risk factors is particularly scant. The results are robust to adjustment for many dietary, lifestyle, and screening behaviors, but additional work on the underlying biological mechanisms should be undertaken to corroborate these findings given the potential for residual confounding. More frequent ejaculation in the absence of risky sexual behaviors could represent an important means of reducing the profound medical costs and physical and psychological side effects of unnecessary diagnosis and treatment of low-risk tumors, even though it appears to be less strongly associated with aggressive disease.

Yeeks, this might take me awhile to digest all this. I do appreciate the effort at least.
