Conditioned thoughts do slow down because they're not given any energy. It's not that they completely stop, it's that they're not taken ownership of any longer... they're just thoughts arising for No One... there's no stickiness of the 'self' there any longer for them to attach to. I mean if you're out in the water surfing and you get your arm bit off by a shark you better believe thoughts and emotions will arise next time you go into the water.

Or you can flip it around and say the sense of self is identification with thoughts and contracted energy in the body.... that was the side J. Krishnamurti seemed to be on.

Hey man, The recognition that the separate sense of self is completely illusory and is a misidentification with conditioned thoughts, feelings, emotions, beliefs, ideas, perceptions, labels, accumulated knowledge and contracted energy experienced within the body.

And an agreeance on what the word Enlightenment is actually pointing to.

Yes it reveals what's unreal... lifting of the Veil. When the Seeker is recognized to be an illusion what is left to find and who would choose to find it. Its the end of seeking for no one. Unknowing ?

There is still a conditioned body that will turn its head when its name is called jump out of the way of a moving truck, prefer coffee over tea, and know to use the restroom when it has to. But it's empty there is no 'self' inside the bodies. It was a misidentification since about 2 years old with thoughts and energy within the body. There are still apparent separate bodies with space in between them.... but there never was a separate individual inhabiting that body....that is the illusion that is the dream. That's why Enlightenment is often referred to as a lifting of the Veil. It's not that the separate sense of self actually collapses because it was never real to begin with ...a collapse would imply there was something actually there that could actually collapse in the first place. It's then recognized that Duality is the dream... it is the illusion itself... there never was a separate individual to be separate from the very beginning making Duality an impossibility or fictitious belief. Conditioned thoughts and emotions may still arise, but they are not taken ownership of any longer they are not held onto and made into stories of how this helps or hinders the illusory 'ME'.... it's recognized as just what's happening for No One. It's not like you become a meditating pacifist ....Action is still taken in the apparent world... a job can still be required to earn money to feed the body & family to pay the mortgage and bills Etc.... Before Enlightenment chop wood and carry water after Enlightenment chop wood and carry water. It's THIS!! Unrecognizable freedom for No One ❤ ❤ ❤

@James123 ❤ sounds like an awakening. Recognize you don't actually need to try to stay in the moment(what else could there be) every moment is it so it's not really even a moment. Dualistic thoughts that arise do not make Duality real it's the misidentification with thoughts as the separate sense 'self' that make separation seem real. Habitual thinking patterns and emotions tied to this thinking can still arise( it's very rare if they stop all together but I have heard of it) rather when there isn't identification with these chronic thoughts they aren't entertained anymore and lesson and lesson because they aren't given any more energy. Yes when the sense of 'self' collapses what remains is the unknowable THIS for No One. Remember thoughts arise due to our conditioning...it isn't anyone's fault. We were taught by our parents who were taught by their parents who were taught by their parents who were taught by their parents and so on. The illusory sense of 'self' is separation is suffering is the prison. When the mechanisms that create suffering are clearly seen through it's almost laughable... it was just a misunderstanding. We are not the conditioned thoughts and emotions we once thought we were... we are free because there isn't a You and Me never was never could be. ❤ ❤ ❤ " The separation never occurred" -- A Course in Miracles

@FK ❤ no prob... It seems like things are dualistic but if its looked at closely enough it can be recognized there aren't any separate individuals inside the bodies....making duality impossible.
