  1. Wow serious plans, are you financially prepared? I moved to another country inside Europe, it was very difficult in the beginning, especially when it is your first own household. It is normal to get confused before the big leap, you sense that this will be a huge step in unknown territory. For me it helped a lot to save enough money that i can fly home anytime i want, if it doesn't work out in my new environment, nothing is more fucked up than being trapped, a plan b can save much trouble. Wish you all the best dude, hope you have a good start!
  2. Stand your ground, you have your own opinion on life and it's ways, you don't have to justify anything. Be assertive and go your own way, when the time comes they will respect you for that and if not: you don't depend on their opinion.
  3. testosterone enanthate works best just kidding, apples+carrots 70/30 is nice, green vegetables with lime rock too
  4. Hallo liebe Mit-Krauts!
  5. I encountered a very tasty chinese black tea recently: "Tarry Lapsang Souchong", it is smoked, smells like campfire, but the taste mmmhhh!! If you mean the caffeine content: turkish green tea gets me up in the morning.
  6. @Naviy Hey there, Your opinion hits bullseye. western society is just oversexed, almost everything is about appearance and shallow attractiveness. I bet people 100 years ago would get instant orgasms while watching commercials on today's television. For many people sex is the pinnacle of happiness in their imagination, i thought of this in the same way: just more sex and everything will fall into place, unfortunately (or luckily) after fucking around for a while it was just empty, i recognized it is nothing which can lift you into happiness, it is just what it is: a fun time, nothing more, if you focus your life on it and you have it often enough, it will only be a trivial activity - with saturation comes indifference. I plead in favor of more quality and less quantity.
  7. Of course you can live without it, but what's the point? It is such a nice playfulness, no need to be dogmatic about it. Who can resist a sensual woman without suffering a bit?
  8. Osho seemed enlightened to me, but as he claimed he was promiscuous and loved luxury, he had 90 rolls royces. Does that fit into your morality? (not hating on your philosophy, i was surprised by myself, it was contradictory for me)
  9. DSM is a joke, seriously. Soon we have 7 billion illnesses described by it, for every human one condition. Negative thought patterns of self-sabotage are something one can change, as i experienced it, but changing an mutated enzyme in your brain chemistry by adjusting your behavior would be really hard. -> that's what i meant Thank you Kelley, appreciate your question
  10. Full ack, replacing (or even better: deleting all) false assumptions and mindsets is almost everything to overcome crazy mental conditions, as long as they are not physiologically determined. Switching the point of view is really powerful.
  11. Hey there, do you think it is possible you are trying to solve an irrational problem with a rational approach? Probably this keeps you attached to the depression? Emotions happen out of the moment, when you overthink you detach yourself from the moment and start to live out feelings of your imagination. A test for Asperger's is another label you can get, but there are people which were relieved to have an answer for their decade long suffering in social relations.
  12. I love Tool and a perfect circle for hanging out, also deep emotional lyrics. For ass kicking purposes: i am addicted to motörhead :), never fails to get my corpse up and killing it. I often tried to listen to classical music while learning for exams, but i found that i get "emotionally" distracted when listening to it. Then technical / math metal came across, it is more neutral to me than classical music and doesn't interfere with my concentration. Enjoy
  13. 1) Travel the world, searching for unknown medicinal plants and practices, teaching the people to take care of themselves with the power of mother nature 2) Live at least one year as an eremite/trapper in the forests of siberia near the Baikal lake 3) Learn how to water-ski like a boss
  14. Dude, i can relate, the crazy ones are the worst I had a similar experience, we dated for two years, a manipulative piece of shit i can assure you, i kept her around for the same reason as you - amazing sex, but if you are honest with yourself it doesn't pay off. Your mind is running in circles because you try to convince yourself the sex is worth it. The problem is, when the sex is mindblowing you often start to project something onto the girl which is simply not there, it is just you being semi-controlled by your hormones and on the otherside your conscious mind telling you that this is fucked up -> loss of integrity. I freed myself from this fucking vampire and i started to breathe again, not dealing with such shit anymore, life is too short dude.
  15. Make it as easy as possible for you, create a routine and limit partying to 1-2 days a week, preferably with low alcohol consumption. Try to pamper your brain with good healthy food, meditation and a reasonable amount of rest. Don't suffer yourself into learning, try to create curiosity and lightness when you learn, procrastination is sometimes a sign of too much pressure. Sometimes it is better to recall your stuff in a smooth way for 3 hours than not at all or with high pressure for 1 hour. And most important: Understand that the people you meet will most likely not be there in a few years, invest your time in your future and don't focus on building eternal friendships, you will have to invest time and energy in your studies and these are limited. Nobody can drag you through the barriers of the learning process, but if you overcome them you have a good chance in finding something priceless - a profession which fulfills you
  16. Which blood pressure pills? How old is she? Is she hypertonic oder hypotonic? Beta-Blockers? ACE-Inhibitors? Which compound? There is a variety as you see, you have to be more specific. What means "not responding well"? Which side effects etc. This is an equation with many variables. In general her physician has a reason for prescribing it, it is better to talk with him about alternatives. Side effects can have many causes too, it could be eating habits, an inhibited enzyme because of her genetics (lowering the dose will help here) etc.
  17. Hey @khalid I know your struggle! Too much of this stuff will stop one from achieving goals for sure. I can give you a few insights in the pharmacology of THC, i think it will help you: You can get CBD extract (Cannabidiol), it is legal in the US, EU and almost every county i know. CBD (Cannabidiol) is a non psychoactive compound in cannabis, it is a negative allosteric Modulator of THC receptors, means it will weaken the effect of it. And now the interesting part: it lowers the effects of THC on concentration and short term memory. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23550724 http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20884951 A very profound problem of today's cannabis is the THC/CBD ratio, natural (land race) cannabis is much higher in CBD, thus the impairing effects are not that harsh as of today's commercial strains. Probably this will be a good short time solution, applying CBD (no side effects), the rewarding feeling of THC will be much lower, if you still consume weed. Good luck for the exam!
  18. Just wanted to share this powerful excerpt from Osho's book "Beyond the Frontier of the Mind", really opened my eyes. http://deoxy.org/egofalse.htm
  19. One of my favorites: "The empty mirror" by Jan WIllem van de Wetering An autobiographic story about his ~1 year stay in a japanese Zen monastery, many anecdotes about enlightenment written in a humorous way. Got me interested in meditation. @Emilio "No more Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert Glover
  20. The question is: do you think you can help them? Did you confront them? I mean what does it change when you comfort them? They start their negative thought carousel again after you leave. Depression is - in my opinion - something you have to deal with by yourself to get rid of it, of course someone can comfort you and make you feel better about yourself, but what is the consequence? It leads to dependency, and thus nobody has a positive outcome. It sounds harsh to you, because you think spending time with them keeps them on the track - but it does not. It just distracts them from their problems - which they have to face. Of course i am not talking about acute depression (in physiological terms), this is a case for the Doc. But as i interpret this, they are in a phase of change and they resist it.
  21. Actually this is amazing, probably worth to be a profession
  22. You are not responsible for their depression, but certainly you are responsible for your wellbeing. Why do you think you are doing them a favor by keeping the contact just because you think they will keep drowning in depression? They will do that with or without you, it is their current state of being, they can only be liberated by themselves, you are on your own journey. I think you are trying to wake up to you own life, your own goals, if you stay attached to relationships which do in fact don't matter to you, your time is simply wasted, and their time too.
  23. In the beginning of meditation practice i felt the same, you are so used to the feeling that the chatter is you that you even have to try hard to get it muted. As i got deeper into the practice, not resisting the thoughts just observing it, it now feels like the thoughts are like an everchanging veil of fog in front of your consciousness, totally separate of it. The thoughts form out of the fog, out of nothing, i can detach myself now better from the monkey mind. In my opinion it is possible that the mind chatter is a form of projection, for example society projecting a role on you and the mind tries to manipulate you into that direction.
