Each time you sleep, and you experience what an unconscious illusion would call a 'dream', the universe is providing you with a priceless, infinite gift. When you dream, your consciousness visits another part of the infinite. Have you noticed that, in your 'dreams', you are your true Self? You are at peace. There is no ego in that state of Being. No anger. No hatred. No opinion. Just floating through the infinite. It is impossible to judge or chastise. What are your most vivid recollections from your 'dreams'? (I will use the term 'dream' for now). And what have they told you about your true Self?

@How to be wise Could be a heart attack. Just saying. But powerful meditation can prevent it going further, as we know.

Sounds to me like ego trying to resist a higher state of consciousness. Do not resist. Surrender only.

@NoSelfSelf It also foolish to waste energy on relationships with unconscious beings, however the egoic mind labels them, i.e family, friends etc etc.

Firstly, you can rest assured that there is no such thing as mental illness. Sounds to me like your ego is trying to create stories. You know what you have to do. Follow Leo's guidance.

Why do you want to become a 'world class programmer'? This would just be an illusion. Utterly pointless. You need to do the work to be content with nothing.

@Jack River Possibly. But then you are resisting solitude. In solitude, with nothing, you won't suffer. Indeed, you will be rewarded.

@TheAvatarState You're right. Don't create a vision. It is an illusion that can't ever be realized. You need to be content with just Being. Anything else will lead to suffering. Relationships, careers, attachment to family... let it all go, NOW, and surrender to the NOW. Isn't it much better to enjoy the bliss of Being even if you sit in a room looking at a wall all day, than living unconsciously in an illusion, believing that you feel/think/love, when really, you don't? Destroy your attachment to everything, including your sense of self.

@Jack River It is a conclusion based upon my own experience. I dream vividly every single night, and yet my 'body', or whatever you might call it, does not feel drained in any way. As is my understanding, to suggest that dreams are draining to the physical body would suggest that they are illusions created within the brain. I know this to be not true. I know that consciousness has left my being and is then Being.

Pursuing this will only set you up to fall. You do not need a relationship. It is impossible to form a relationship that is not based on an illusion. If you want to live within an illusion, press ahead. Otherwise forget it, and surrender to the infinite beauty and bliss of the nothingness of now.

How do you mean, end an experience? @Rilles Ultimately, when you are dreaming you are not expending energy, as you are not in your physical body. You are riding the energy of the infinite. To suggest that dreaming has a drain on your physical body would suggest that dreams originate in the brain. We all agree to that, surely? Otherwise, you would be thinking quite materialistically.

I do nothing. What is more egoic than pursuing a career and goals? It will only lead to suffering.

@Jack River Of course there is awareness during sleep, as Spirit and Consciousness leaves your being. I am happy you have found peace. It is just a shame you are unable to enjoy the bliss within a dream.

@Rilles Only a devil would make such a claim. You are clearly at One with your egoic self and you are too fearful to let it go. As such, you will continue to live within an illusion. You can be saved. Stop everything. Forget everything. Do nothing. Feel nothing. Just Be.

@Serotoninluv I would agree to a point. There are no good or bad thoughts. Even love is an illusion. Which is the mistake that many on this forum make. Love is an egoic fabrication. The only thing that is 'real', is to be thoughtless with no attachment to anything. Which is, ultimately, the gift we receive when we leave these wretched bodies.

@EvilAngel You do not need socks. If you think you do, that is your egoic perception. Cold is just a sensation, it is not real. It's an illusion. If you choose to fight the sensation, you are only pushing your development backwards. This applies to relationships and socialising too. Your egoic mind is telling you to pursue this for comfort. It will not work. Be happy being alone, doing nothing. Truly feel the bliss of just Being, with no attachments.

@Jack River I can assure you that you do 'dream', as a materialist might call it. Perhaps you need to work on further clearing egoic tendencies that only serve to block the path. This was my own experience.

@Rilles I am here to encourage others to cease chasing their tails with egoic persuits, and to spread the word of the infinite. This is our only purpose. @VictorB02 This may be true, to an extent. However, there is nothing more to it than cutting your ties with everything you know and surrendering truly to the present moment, with no attachment to anything. There is no need for anything else. It is your choice. Sending you positive energy. I know you will receive my energy soon. Recognise it.

@Mikael89 Isn't this just materialist thinking? You believe your dreams are a product of your brain within your head. This is wrong. @SoonHei How do you explain being involved in your dream? Would you suggest your spirit is half in your body and half within infinite consciousness? When I dream, I feel free. I dream so vividly. I am free of all thoughts and the egoic self. @Nahm I think you are fooling yourself that you have a brain. Again, this is rather a materialistic perspective.

@F A B We didn't break up. I never pursued it. I had to end the friendship as it was based on an illusion within my egoic mind. Sorry to hijack the thread.

@F A B The issue is that you are seeing other beings as 'other', when they are not. So essentially, it is an illusion. If that being is unconscious, they are an illusion. When they are conscious, they have no desire for a mutual relationship. Does that make sense? I remember a time when I loved this one girl. More than anything. More than life itself. More than the infinite universe. I felt it. But I knew that it wasn't real. I forced myself away from her. I went quiet and avoided her. I knew that 'she' wasn't interested in me like anyway, and coupled with her being an illusion within my egoic mind, I couldn't bear the suffering. I have never felt pain like it. And I hope I never do again. I think of her sometimes. Sometimes I cannot help it, she just enters my mind. It is pain that I would not wish on anything. It's almost as if the materialists are correct to an extent, that I have a hard wired desire to share my time within this dream with that girl. But I know this is false, and I have to bring myself back into the present. Enough about that. Just be careful.

@cetus56 I never said I live off bread and water. I said it can be done. There is no need to desire foods the egoic mind would consider to be more 'pleasant' than others. I think you have a lot of growing to do, Cetus. I don't want to hijack this thread. The Truth remains, you must submit to the bliss within the nothingness of Being. Anything else is an illusion.
