@Emerald This is the type of overly simplistic materialist thinking that leads to delusion. Biology is an unfathomably complex domain but we have learned a few things. The problem with veganism is double sided, it comes down to not getting all the nutrients as well as how inflammatory many plant foods can be due to their natural inborn plant defenses, most plant foods we see today required millenia of domestication to be viable food stuffs. Anti-oxidants found in plants are a joke compared to the powerful upregulation of glutathione and endogenous antioxidant capacity illicited by exercise and fasting. Plant chemicals are triggers to spur an endogenous process not nutrients as one might think. you can think of plants as medicine and animals as food. I encourage you all to think critically here and not recycle the same confirmation biased appeals to authority, nitty gritty mechanistic studies etc. there is an ag lobby and guess what kinds of foods have the highest margins? Plant foods, do you have any idea what the profit margins are on wheat for example? astronomical. Strictly from a human health standpoint the rubber meets the road in terms of conversions of nutrients from plant precursors into the in-vivo active forms of the nutrients. there are certain gene polymorphisms present in over 50% of the population that make it absolutely impossible to convert beta-carotene into retinol among many others. Lack of retinol is a likely explanation for those receding gums. Yes the plant foods according to chronometer contain various nutrients (albeit bound by anti-nutrients, oxalates lectins etc) but there are many absolutely ESSENTIAL nutrients they simply do not contain or in necessary abundance for optimal health/childhood development. ALL animals are healthiest consuming the diet they evolved to consume, something should tell you that the vegan diet is not that due to the fact you NEED to supplement b12 without which you will get irreversible brain damage within several years not to mention the plethora of other critical nutrients not obtained through veganism. How could it possibly be safe for all stages of the life cycle when there is no b12? Nose to tail eating of naturally raised animals avails a human being of absolutely every single micro/macronutrient necessary to survive generationally. In my opinion raising a child vegan is tantamount to child abuse. Plants contain no: vitamin D B12 vitamin A in the form of retinol EPA or DHA, chia seeds contain linolenic acid which can be converted at a rate of less than 5% if youre lucky vitamin K2 essential amino acids in optimal ratios (vegans like to cite studies showing higher levels of protein in the blood of vegans compared to omnivores, this is becasue they are not usable within the cell when not in balanced ratios, so they float around in the blood stream activating autoimmune reactions. For example if you vegans would simply consume some shellfish on a weekly basis you would have all of these deficiencies met and they are less sentient than the housefly you likely killed within the last month. I trust the laboratory that is nature and my direct experience over a select few myopic confirmation biased vegan doctors/organizations, sorry.

With enough cash in the bank to support your needs, how necessary is it to be part of a dominance hierarchy at any rung? How does that fit into the non-monetary aspects of self-actualization? im curious to get a list of pros/cons of living inside/outside of a hiercharchy of other humans

if youre not strict or religious that means you arent a vegan then right? genuine question. Any genuine honest inquiry into the matter will reveal that veganism isnt viable or healthy, it is confirmation bias up the wazoo. There is no one plant or combination of plants that contains all the nutrients essential for human wellbeing and certainly not in adequate amounts. Kill an animal and you have absolutely every micro/macronutrient you will ever need to survive generationally. I imagine consciousness of this fact is not popular among a spiritual crowd but I urge people to look at this without bias so as to not compromise their's and their children's health based on a delusional web of beliefs.

merely listening activates afferent neurons, doing the action activates both afferent and efferent neurons. -

In my experience they dont work, generating the beat yourself via some kind of drumming is a much more effective state changer. -

weed stacked with armodafinil really turbo spools up my ability to generate insights, VERY enjoyable, free flow journaling at it's best. But yes, it's HIGHLY addictive. Depletes dopamine levels and makes you dopamine insensitive = amotivational syndrome. -
I was more wondering about the consequences of not being part of a group of people who have specific expectations of you. Obviously you cant escape hierarchies in an absolute sense but if you are someone who has the money to simply do as they please on a daily basis it's a bit different. Like in Leo's case he is not accountable to anyone directly and im wondering what drawbacks living that "dream" might have.

wheat is garbage and should be avoided but counter-intuitively if you must eat it, go for the most refined version possible. At least most of the antigenic and inflammatory stuff gets removed. Whole grain is the absolute worst peasant food you can get. Just make sure your diet is nutritious otherwise
-
Veganism is utterly deluded and unnatural, they always have health problems and are always searching for the next miracle cure, meanwhile their diets contain virtually no nutrition. uhhhh

that veganism is healthy

I was just curious to identify blind spots I have with regards to living outside a hierarchy. It's easy to oversimplify and say "oh, well all I need is money" while missing some other subtleties that come from being a part of a hierarchy, sense of community or shared problems/struggles to relate to others about etc.

moderate doses of mushrooms are profoundly beneficial, dont think you need to take a full dose to dissolve the self just yet.

I also disagree with some of the specifics of Yang's UBI but I think it may be just the measured dose of radical paradigm shifting that the country will be able to stomach in the short term. A trojan horse to whet the country's appetite for additional visionary new ideas into the future of the sort. Yang's libertarian bent I think is the right fit for much of the current electorate's stage of development, whereas Bernie for whatever reason is very polarizing to that stubborn subset of the demographics required to win the presidency.

ground yourself in nothingness. If reality is infinite each point in space is of equal distance to the edge of reality. i.e there is no difference between any location, i.e no matter where you go youre always in the same place, a place called nowhere

arent all innate human abilities also siddhis in some sense? Hearing, seeing, tasting etc. I feel like we take them for granted -

I watched the newest Avengers today and realized that the movie's metaphysics of time is the same as how Leo reported time to be after his solo retreat in the retreat notes. That each moment in time still exists right now and always. A more grounded example of this would be that it is possible that the light from events that occured on earth millions of light years away (and ago) are in this very moment being observed in real time by aliens with a very fine tuned and powerful telescope. imagine being far enough away from earth that you could witness historical events in real time as they played out. essentially witnessing the past.

that much is obvious but like I said it's a sort of 'soft example' of it if you know what I mean. -

@kieranpereztotally agree with your appraisal of Ralston. 1. try to practice not knowing just upon waking and into your next morning activities like getting dressed etc. this can yield very effective yet destabilizing experiences so use at your own risk. youre at your most suggestible/open while still swithcing from sleeping brain waves to waking brain waves so it is a good way to induce the state. 2. i take 1/8th of an armodafinil 150 along with a microdose of weed on from a vape pen. This combination has really accelerated my contemplation. 3.neurofeedback can be very helpful as well, i'd def look into that for your add. but honestly i think yoga actually just an ancient form of neurofeedback. 4. being in deep ketosis for cognition cannot be understated. I am equally excited by the practical potential of this work, he mentions that it is not a matter of talent or brilliance but rather laziness. you can do this stuff but the only thing in your way is laziness and if im honest with myself this is true. -

ive been contemplating and experimenting with an inability to not recognize and read a word upon gazing at it. I cant look at legible type without the word popping out in my head and making noise. So I've been trying to cultivate not knowingness in my mind to the point that i stop seeing the word for it's symbolic meaning. overall nothing has worked as deeply on my mind like Ralston has yet. -
I've been getting great results by saying to myself "stop kidding yourself, as if this is actually real and there is a ground to reality somewhere" like I'm being my own down to earth friend giving me a challenge to just be honest with myself, for once, that this girl is just not that into me and I ought to stop deluding myself. Almost like bullying myself into realizing the truth and I think it might be working. makes reality feel like a joke.

the teeth stuff/skin stuff is merely you not absorbing vitamins and minerals from your diet, particularly fat soluble vitamins A,D&K This is 100% due to insufficient stomach acidity to set off the the chain reaction of digestion i.e not enough bile and pancreatic enzyme release. Just start taking a high quality betaine hcl/bile salt enzyme supplement problem solved lickity split. root cause of low stomach acid can be from not enough parasympathetic vagal tone, you cant turn off your fight or flight response on a subtle level. The supplement can reaccustom your body to higher levels of acidity and can get you back to normal ive found, so you may not need to take it forever. I use this one and it has worked wonders https://www.amazon.com/Thorne-Research-Bio-Gest-Digestive-Digestion/dp/B079795YYQ/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_3?keywords=thorne+bile+salts&qid=1557244436&s=hpc&sr=1-3-fkmrnull

love this topic, it would be interesting to hear people's takes on this. It seems some things are Absolutely Funny.

So they were literally sitting in caves in the mountains... How were they surviving? What was their day to day existence actually like? What im most curious about is their diet, and obviously they werent all breatharians. We always hear about fruitarianism being the pinnacle of yogic diets but I doubt that they would have access to fruit in cold mountainous conditions. I have no idea but it seems most likely that they would have needed to subsist on meat mostly. anyone know anything about this? the other thing I have been intrigued by lately is that Aztec shamans had the luxury of commissioning runners to go back and forth to the ocean and bring them massive amounts of fish becasue they believed it assisted them in communing with the gods. To me that speaks to omega-3s and their role in brain health and perhaps high doses giving some sort of spiritual advantage. The very well known olympic strength coach Charles Poliquin would have his athletes consume 30g of omega 3 per day as a performance enhancer.
