@Anna1 Brahman is self aware is not aware of anything else other than itself.Brahman is neither the doer nor the experiencer. Ego the reflected conciousness is always aware of the mind and mind control the senses. So in short ego is the perceiver or reflected awareness. Or in otherwords ego is the subject.Can ego know itself - no it cannot as it can never be aware of itself but all other than itself. The ego cannot know the brahman as well. So whats the purpose of witnessing(saakshi) or self enquiry on the subject ? Pls clarify. @Preetom

@BuddhaTree @BuddhaTree I agree with your views.The books were not authored by Sri Ramana Maharishi.Nor any one was allowed to take notes as and then when the QA session was happening.Not sure then tape recorder facilities were available then or the author was enlightened. Again the translation from tamil to english too were the real meaning wasnt captured exactly what it was said. Even the book Ulladhu Naarpadhu - 40 verses on reality tamil is difficult to understand (the original tamil verses) said by sri Ramana Maharishi with out commentries in tamil ???

@Empty Leo is just stating a belief.No body knows if mohammed was enlightened or some other x was enlightened.All are just beliefs - A marketting strategy employed by the philosophers to attract people and turn them towards the real spirituality. Say if you tell people Self Realisation was originated in India several thousands of years before Islam,Muslim or jainism,buddism etc people who are following one religion or another will not even be bother to hear what Non duality says. So instead say Mohammed was enlightened,Jesus was enlightened. Because of the conditioning of revering mohammed,buddha,christ,krishna what ever people will get attracted. Does it matter if mohammed was enliggtened or krishna was enlightened. People dont question the dead or they love to accept the dead than the living enlightened saying I am Conciousness,I am God,I am Tao - you to can realize truth. It is an useful lie marketing strategy typically philosophers employ For true love on humanity. But the danger problem with this approach is as long as the follower keep listening to the philosopher saying that and under his guidance its ok.But on the contrary if he takes that just an input from some other source confirming his muslim identity and if he takes the words of a book as absolute truth then it makes him worse.

@Javfly33 What ever you wrote asking are appearances in the consciousness.Do you (as the ego or mind) or whatever which is asking this question know for sure conciousness created everything ? Keep questioning till the questioner gets tired and the very so called realisation idea of selfrealisation enlightenment oneness whatever and every question and answer all are appearances in conciousness and is again nothing but thought s appearances in conciousness and not real. @Onecirrus when you are happy you will make others too happy.If you are miserable you project your misery and suffering on others as well.So that's the message. But selfrealisation doesn't solve the poverty,disease and other worldly issues that is all the problems related to the body.So one have take care of earning,family,health and all other issues with a much better clarity and calmness. Like ajasatya said purity of mind also is parallely important in the path . which is emphasized by traditional masters and overlooked by the modern I guess.

@Inliytened1 pls clarify the difference between Ego and Mind. _------------------------------- Why there should be addictions after enlightenment after the realisation I am not the body and I am not the mind. Nisargadatta Maharaj could speak very eloquently on Advaitha but couldnt quit smoking and died of cancer. Addictions cravings are compulsions on the ego to smoke arent they supposed to die after enlightenment ? When asked about smoking the body devoloped some bad habbits and I dont deny what the body wants - (this is the reply i dont remember exact words) Nisargadatta Maharaj too says you will become absolutely fearless. And another enlightened master said healthy fear is good. Any how books dont speak as he is no more.And we have to rely upon the words of living enlightened. --------------------------------

@Leo Gura Leo please explain the relationship between Sense of seperatedness or I feeling or Identity vanishing to that Intellect which discriminates as good,bad,morality,values. Ego or the identity is just a feeling but intellect is the collective knowledge or conditioning which says what is right wrong survival likes dislikes. So what change happens to the intellect after enlightenment ? How the intellect which was hating Hitler suddenly loves a Hitler,Rapists,Murderes ? On the contrary you said you will know the use of war if a tyrant,dictator starts ruling your country ? Unconditional love is unconditional acceptance of what it is with out any trace of judgement or like or dislike. But you said enlightenment is not emotional mastery ??? You said the abortion is immoral is a moralistic view and is not conciousness work ? So what will be the view of an enlightened with respect to abortion,killing,murder,rape ? - No emotions when they hear,see that happening ? - become emotionally stale like a stone ? Non reactive ?

@Truth Addict Can you make a person realize the taste of sugar who never tasted it with words ? There is an enarmous gap between theory and practicals.Thats why practical experience is required to understand what was read in theory. Any how I am not interested and don't know about the spiral dynamics stages etc.
