  1. Wiki says: "Schadenfreude is the experience of pleasure, joy, or self-satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another" I find myself feeling this emotion off and on. It's like a subtle emotion, rather than explicit. Instantly I recognize it, I know it's not right to feel this way and I feel bad. Since we are all one, experiencing subtle joy over somebody's agony should be wrong. It's obvious that this feeling depends upon survival instincts, right?
  2. Dear @Zigzag Idiot & @Nahm thank you for your elegant replies, I'll keep those in mind. @Zigzag Idiot Nicoll's studies sounds really interesting, I'll try to have a look at them.
  3. The new Netflix show Living with Yourself is mainly about self-actualization. Quite bingeable.
  4. Currently reading it. Favorite quote so far: But what is truth? Is truth some extraordinary mystery, something far away, unimaginable, abstract? Or is truth something which you discover from moment to moment, from day to day? If it can be accumulated, gathered through experience, then it is not truth; for behind this gathering lies the same spirit of acquisitiveness. If it is something far away which can be found only through a system of meditation, or through the practice of denial and sacrifice, again it is not truth for that also is a process of acquisitiveness. ... Truth is not something which you can gather, accumulate, store up and rely on as a guide. That is only another form of possession. And it is very difficult for the mind not to acquire, not to store up. When you realize the significance of this, you will find out what an extraordinary thing truth is. Truth is timeless, but the moment you capture it - as when you say, "I have found truth, it is mine" - it is no longer truth.
  5. "Fear" was awesome but there should be a juicy-lengthy sequel to Emotions. What are the differences between emotion/feeling/affect/mood? How do emotions and feelings work? What's the purpose? What is the non-dualistic view of emotion?
  6. Here's a complaint for you: I can't buy the book list (or the life purpose course). Not that I don't have enough money. But because of our stupid, red-blue government here in Turkey banned PayPal three years ago. (Not only PayPal but also Booking.com, all kinds of porn sites, UBER (!), goes on and on. Here's the article in Wikipedia but I can't read it because even friggin Wikipedia is banned here). If @Leo Gura might open credit card option I would buy the list for sure.
  7. @Leo Gura Which profession is closer to the highest manifestation of love? Being an artist maybe? Or your profession doesn't matter at all? What is the relationship between self actualization and love?
  8. Om - Meditation is the Practice of Death Whole album ("God is Good") is really great actually.
  9. J. Krishnamurti, Rupert Spira, Sadhguru, Shunyamurti, Peter Ralston... But I must say that, like @Leo Gura told (in his "Leaving on 30-Day Solo Retreat" video), spiritual teachings from these great names are not enough by themselves. One needs to integrate these teachings with intellectual frameworks, i.e. science, philosophy, politics. For example, Bernardo Kastrup is enlightened AF. But also, without the discipline of those teachings, scientists, philosophers, etc. can fall into ego trap.
