  1. someone kneeling on the back of your neck or someone offering a helping hand
  2. It’s just a platitude commonly used when a person falls victim to some unfortunate circumstance. It’s supposedly more comforting to say this than to say it has no meaning or that it’s a form of Love. I’m not a fan of the phrase, personally.
  3. And I suppose this would work for those with malicious intent also? And should there be a trip sitter present for someone who intends to trip on something they’ve never had?
  4. Good job, Champ, you did it! The loving and encouraging words his dad should’ve said more 6 decades or so ago.
  5. Ok, different source this time with the same basic message: https://edsitement.neh.gov/curricula/alexis-de-tocqueville-tyranny-majority Also, if everything was just a popularity contest, there would’ve been a Hitler Did Nothing Wrong flavor of soda and a Boaty McBoatface out at sea. I also agree that gerrymandering needs to stop.
  6. If the electoral college is a problem, is the House of Representatives also a problem then?

  8. The population of California is about 40 million and the population of Wyoming is about 600 thousand. The electoral college is a necessary boost for the less-populated states. At least we can definitively say Hillary was more popular than Trump. That speaks volumes.
  9. Police brutality is an issue no matter what race the suspect is. Minorities face discrimination in many different ways, not only from cops.
  10. Isn’t Infinite Love/Source/God here already? What is there to go to?
  11. I listened and found it fascinating! It’s easy to listen to some random sample of something and say it’s entirely bullshit if you disagree with that sample. My only issue with the interview is that the interviewer interrupts him a lot. He does admit during the interview that we may never know the basis of reality through math. Once you solve one question, other questions occur to you that you were previously unaware of. And I like how he says it becomes a ‘turtles all the way down’ problem, with math substituted for turtles. It’s similar to something Leo has said in previous videos: how do you effectively communicate about Consciousness (or Love, or God, or Infinity, etc...) when the communication itself is such an insignificant speck within it? I appreciate his effort, though, just as I appreciate Leo’s!
  12. Yup, been there. Still working my way out slowly. That's the great thing about the internet, though. You can live vicariously and watch as other people live their lives with their successes and failures along the way. That was my life for a long time until I got a job and became financially secure enough to live independently. Now, I basically do what I want as long as it doesn't negatively affect my job. It's not perfect and I still fail, but I've become okay with that.
  13. This sounds like depression to me. Could be wrong, though. Do you feel as if you're just going through the motions in life out of some sense of obligation?
  14. Living in the moment is so chaotic. With no set goals or plans to guide you along, there's no telling what the future holds. You can hope you enjoy things along the way, but the universe is under no obligation to appeal to you. It's intimidating.
