I remember years ago when I was 16 I tried MDMA for the first time and was mind blown, without me knowing I think this deep down set me on the path as someone seeking enlightenment. Can anyone else see the similarities between the feeling you have on MDMA and Enlightenment? I know MDMA is more of a high feeling but you just love everything for the first time in your life. I have never taken it since and don't feel the need to but will never forget it. I re edited a scene from Human Traffic where the guy was talking about MDMA, just really reminded me of how someone might describe enlightenment.

Yeah would be interesting to hear your perspective on it. But agreed you don't need to try it. Yes it is quite dangerous compared to other psycs, probably not worth it if you are well established on the path. i have heard of cases where people have died on MDMA from just one trip and it definitely can mess up the brain with long term use. So have to proceed with caution.

Yes it really is something quite remarkable, when I first tried it I was very young and didn't know anything about higher conciseness but realised this is something we are all seeking, without me knowing it probably started me on the path haha. Its been ten years since I tried it but I watched the movie human traffic the other day and there is a scene in there where they talk about MDMA and I was like they are describing enlightenment. I found the clip on youtube a redirected it lol took out the drug references and images and replaced them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FTKT27Nz38

Yeah amazing, do you think its possible to live in a place similar to that when you advance on the spiritual path? I know it's not a good idea to start fantasising about it but it is very interesting to even imagine a life like that. The world just needs more love

Yes its more that feeling you get after metta meditation, its funny it isn't classed a psychedelic but definitely has psychedelic effects. Have you ever practiced Jhana meditation, that is also very similar

Yes I think that seems to be my conclusion as well, you just have to do it if you feel a calling and try and be as smart as you can but there is no real answer, well one that i know off. -

@Jack River cool, did you spend a long period of time just solely focusing on this, like did you live in a ashram or something for a bit? -
noselfnofun replied to noselfnofun's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Jack River I defo agree with this and its a beautiful understanding. It dose need context tho, we as humans do want to return home to our true nature and even though every action is a reflection of awareness certain actions for some reason are more likely going to send us back to our true nature than others. A monk is a lot more likely to achieve this then say a guy working at a slaughter house who drinks, smokes and has lots of destructive addictions. These higher understanding should be saved until one dose reach a place of self transcendence, then yes you can clearly see that every action is just a reflection of awareness. I feel its the danger of the none duel understanding is one can trick oneself into thinking your higher then you are intellectually and they still have work to do. -

Cool, could you give examples of what you mean by contradictions? Like someone who is pursuing enlightenment but goes out sleeping with escorts, taking drugs and is mean to people ect, you mean something like that? -

@Serotoninluv Hmm yes interesting. Would you say its totally about your internal development not your external? What about say a man who is very emotionally mature but has no money? should he stop his path for a bit to gain more wealth so he has slightly more assests or would you say all that stuff becomes irrelevant. It totally makes sense if someone has emotional/mental health problems that should be resolved first. I think this is actually a really important subject, leo could do a video on it. Tho I think he might of done already ahha -

Yeah they are really good. Go in with an open mind and try not to expect anything. I would say to prepare for it, one month before the retreat start doing one hour determination sittings, then two weeks before try and do two sessions of one hour determination sits. if you can do more then great, the main problem most people face is the pain from sitting for long periods so if you can get some experience sitting before you go in it will help a lot. Also two weeks before start getting up early and going to bed early, also you only eat two proper meals, breakfast and lunch. If its your first time you will get some fruit also at 5pm so it might be worth eating slightly less food then you normally do maybe a week before. Also leading up to the course try and not over indulge in bad habits etc. One trap people fall into also there is the course is designed to send you on a bit of an emotional roller coaster, one moment you could of just had an amazing meditation session then two hours later you have one of the worst sessions and this confuses and discourages people. The whole point is to not get attached to the good or the bad and remain in equanimity. So try not to get to attached to the high and low moments in there and realises they are all temporary. Its a great opportunity to spend focusing on your spiritual development for ten days and everything like food and accommodation is taken care for you. Good luck and I hope the course is helpful -
Hey guys I made this video messing around about the evolution of consciousness. A motivational type video. Will try and make one like this a week and try and improve each time so if you have any feedback that would be great.

Something and nothing are the same thing. Something is nothing appearing as something and nothing is something appearing as nothing. Our minds create the idea of something. There is only something. There is only nothing. There both true. man I felt like sadguru typing that up someone get me a fucking robe. -
noselfnofun replied to LoveandPurpose's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Fuck it, if you want to try and create world peace go for it. I mean we all have to do something with our lives and if thats what you want to do then why not. I guess with something like this you just have to make sure its not your ego playing tricks on you where you secretly want to be someone known for creating peace on earth. Sadguru is definitely trying to do his part and hes not in stage green, you can totally be at stage turquoise whilst trying to make the world a better place. Like everyone has said the first step is to heal yourself first, then you can start making steps to heal the world. Lets face it there is a shitload of suffering in this world that could be massively improved. I think people want to ingore this fact and use none duality philosophy to bypass the issue. Alot of the great saints went out into the world and took action. GO FOR IT! -
noselfnofun replied to xbcc's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@xbcc I went through this so I can relate. I use to be so bad with women when younger it made me become obsessed with pick up, like you, I mad it my soul life's focus to try and get girls. Luckily it didn't last too long and I started to wake up from it, I realised trying to pick up and have sex with random girls was actually very empty and not fulfilling at all. The problem I found was I had trained my mind to think this way and be so focused on sex that I had made the desire for it very strong, like way stronger than a normal person. So when embarking on a spiritually path I saw just how I had brainwashed myself to be like this. For me it really helped to just stop watching anything to do with pick up, also be very wary of spending to much time with other people who are also obsessed with pick up, that can keep you stuck in it. What I found was the joy and love for life that can be experienced through a dedicated spiritual/conscious life is just so much more rewarding it starts to remove the desire for hedonistic behaviour like compulsive pua. It dose take a lot of work and discipline. I met this incredible monk once at a meditation retreat who had completely transcended his desire for sex and worldly pleasures, this really inspired me. try and find and hang out with healthy balanced people who are not obsessed with sex and put as much effort into developing your spiritual life in the right ways as you have with pick up and you'll start to transcend it fairly quickly. I found Jhana or Metta meditation really good for it. On the flip side you also cannot denie or suppress your desires, so still maybe go out here and there, its worth going to cool events that you are interested in, like meditation meet ups or whatever and if you see women there you can get to know them that way and your more likely to find women with shared interests and you are not wasting your time out trying to just get sex. But before you do that maybe worth having a period were you just go cold turkey for a bit and don't think about women until you feel the craving for it die down. -
noselfnofun replied to Paul92's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Paul92 This is a really great question, your right on one hand absolutely nothing wrong with it, some people do live happy peaceful lives without knowing about spirituality, it is quite rare however. The only problem with this is that life can throw anything at you at anytime and normally unconscious people are only happy as long as everything in there life is going the way they want it to. When life then throws them a bad hand, things get stripped away from them, they suffer. Normally this is the calling for them to look for a higher meaning in life and get into spirituality. Also another problem with being unconscious is you are not aware of the human potential, once you start progressing on this path life becomes so so much more enriching to a point where it feels like there is no end to how amazing your life could become. If you didn't know about this, you could argue your missing out. I empathise with you, if you do decide to take this journey it is by no means an easy one, well not for most people, so do have courage and face whatever comes up head on. ultimately we want to reach a point in life where we are happy regardless of our circumstances, so no matter what is happening to us, no matter how bad we can remain happy and at peace. To truly get to this point you would have to understand the true nature of reality. -
Hi guys Is there a difference between enlightening the body through say yoga and enlightening the mind through meditation? Say you get enlightened through a meditation path like Buddhism is there still work left to be done in opening your heart and fully awakening the body. What do you guys know about this?

noselfnofun replied to PetarKa's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Well said. Maybe your just not ready yet in yourself to jump in headfirst, I found intense suffering seems to be the main reason people take this stuff seriously, not everyone of course. If you can be happy without enlightenment than be happy, but there might come a time where you will feel like you have no other option. -

hahah so true man this was what I was thinking when watching it, could not believe it, mike Tyson talking about 5meo hahaha. I use to be a massive fight fan and Tyson was my favourite fighter so know all about his background, he really has had a crazy life and to see him take this change with his life is amazing to see and very unexpected. Its good for the sport of fighting too as he is highly regarded so hopefully might inspire others to be more mindful and avoid narcissism and ego. -

@Salvijus yea second that, so maybe the only thing worthwhile in life is to be happy and joyful, because then everything will be happy and joyful. -

Not sure if its a good idea to stick a label on him green, blue, yellow ect, every day he will be constantly changing on every level small or big. The guy is doing great things so good on him so dose not matter how spiritually evolved he is, only way to truly know would be to live with him for a bit.
