Gurdjieff called man a three brained being referring to The three centers Intellectual emotional instinctual. He also referred to the four bodies,.three of which are metaphysical in addition to the physical body. Different schools refer to them by different names. The astral body, spiritual body, Divine body These are only concepts for the most part, that I’ve learned. I really don’t know KNOW. There is a bit of intuitive and some circumstantial evidence that I’ve experienced in relation to these ideas The notion of everyone consisting of a multiplicity of ego structures. Also the need for emotional purification which is pretty much our largest task here on this painfactory of a planet, as Maurice Nicoll calls it or this prison for drunks, says Rumi. In purifying the emotional or feeling center we observe how we become identified with ideas, feelings, or perspectives. These identifications are the glue which binds us to the dreamworld of spiritual sleep. Do you see the value of non attachment? Of equanimity? This is different than being detached. Being detached is similar to our mutually shared common downfall of seeking perpetual dissociation from reality. Most of us want to stay asleep because the truth hurts but it also liberates. If we remain asleep, the dream can become a nightmare. I think it is somewhat “normal” at times to become overwhelmed or depressed in trying on these ideas in relation to working on oneself. That would explain in part why esoteric knowledge has never become widely popular. At times it can definitely feel like a lonely path and maybe why Castaneda quoted Don Juan Matus saying that one has to choose a path with heart. To endure the loneliness and periodic terror, the necessity of becoming a peerless warrior. What poetry! Gurdjieff used the allegory of the Coachman, horse and carriage in describing the four bodies. Coachman is the intellectual center. Horse is the emotional center. The carriage is one’s physical body or automaton. Master in the carriage is the observer, the essential or Higher Self,,,, witness consciousness.

@tsuki I was having that same Android issue last week. I found me a nice used air I Pad,,,, Reading your post just above, I thought you might find interesting a formula from the Work. Understanding is formed by 2 lines which are to be simultaneously worked on work on knowledge + work on being My own 2 cents added to this is - peace comes through understanding.

Zigzag Idiot replied to ucan99's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This book is about self observation but the author bares his soul in admitting to a deeper level of self deception such that I found it to be helpful for me on the topic mentioned. Below Martin Butler recommends this book as well. The book and the video as well are Fourth Way oriented so some of the jargon may be unfamiliar. Taken on their own though, I think they would be helpful for those who are really sincere in catching a glimpse of their self deceptions. It’s often tangled with a psychological blind spot which in the Fourth Way is called one’s chief feature and associated with “buffers”. -
Thinking on Three Levels by Dr. Jim Rosen ©2020 Dr. Jim Rosen There are more than 3 levels or ways of thinking. But in the matter of judging or assessing the goodness of what you think, it's useful to look at three levels: (1) the passing thought; (2) the rehearsed or repeated thought; and (3) the intention to carry it out. If we talk about sexual thoughts for our example, it's easy to see these three levels. Suppose you're married or you're in a committed relationship of another sort. When you see an attractive person, it's common and normal for you to have a passing sexual thought. If you rehearse or repeat (in your mind) a sexual fantasy with that person, you're taking your thinking to the second level, and you're starting to play with fire. If you have intentions of carrying it out and going to bed with that person, you're taking your thinking to the third level. The point at which you choose to stop or alter this thinking is your responsibility. Of course you can also use the three levels in positive ways. Suppose you’ve been telling yourself something that has caused you a lot of emotional pain. And suppose you recently learned that the negative something probably isn’t true, and that a much more positive belief is worthy of your thinking. So you try it out – first as an occasional idea, then as one you repeat to yourself frequently, and finally as a more firmly held belief that you take into your daily life. Now you have a newer and healthier thinking habit. That’s the way to be!

@tsuki I agree and it WAS a bold question to ask which is uncharacteristic of my previous interactions with the Sage for the most part. The decision to ask came in a flash and with a good deal of clarity and inspiration right upon awakening out of sleep. Despite receiving a positive answer, it humbled me to a degree. Times when I’m at my boldest, I feel childlike and with little to no fear. In general and for the most part, I feel like I’m 53 going on 15. It feels right and good and if given the choice I wouldn’t want It to be different. Just going to let the stew simmer for now,,,,

Same back to you @DrewNows brother man! I ran across a song on YouTube this morning that I haven’t heard since I was a kid.

At one point I had to quit feeling guilty for shitty thoughts that really weren’t mine anyway. Maurice Nicole said an interesting thing.-“You have a right to not be negative.” Freedom is found there. My Automaton’s cranial receiver was picking that junk up from the ether combined with the minds’ thought by association word mechanism. It was stupid of me to continue feeling guilty for those negative thoughts when all I had to do was proclaim - That’s not me. My mind produced that toxic soup but I could disclaim it. That’s not me. I don’t want to be like that so therefore I refuse that thought. It can go. That automatic guilt that usually hung around was gone. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The Trap which simultaneously restricts but potentially liberates this ego is its focus on Seeking. The Way of self-realization of this ego is the Way of Self-Awareness, which is “immensely mystical” and which entails becoming aware of one’s “internal inner clarity”. The Holy Idea which acts as a catalyzer for the transformation of this ego is Holy Love/ Divine Love. This can lead to the Virtue (energy) of Action. According to Ichazo, Divine Love is “The awareness that though the laws which govern reality are objective, they are not cold, because these cosmic laws inevitably lead to the creation of organic life, and Life itself, like all natural phenomena, fulfills a cosmic purpose. As soon as the mind’s word mechanism is destroyed, love, the natural condition of the mind, appears. Love begins the moment man contemplates the Creation and says, ‘Thank you, God.’ All men feel this somewhat, no animal can feel this at all. Man alone can know that all comes from God.” taken from; https://www.the16types.info/vbulletin/showthread.php/48274-Oscar-Ichazo-s-enneagram-descriptions

Some soul soothing hippie music,,,, This song always reminds me of a time years ago when I was wondering through hell on earth. The harmony of the song at that time was a form of sustenance in a very bleak landscape.

Centering Prayer is more a meditation practice than it is a Prayer. It’s a practice which helps one to cultivate non conceptual awareness. Cynthia Bourgeault claims that the salvation Jesus taught was in fact the perception of nonduality--and she's becoming famous for how she backs up this claim quite reasonably, relying on the Bible, church fathers, and especially the Christian contemplative tradition. The notion of nondual Christianity doesn't originate with her, of course, but she's prominent as one of the more articulate voices making people aware of it today. In this new book, she teaches the basics of Centering Prayer as a way to the perception of noduality. It thus will go a bit deeper theoretically/theologically than the other numerous Centering Prayer books, while still serving as a basic introduction. And in the fascinating third part of the book, she analyzes the Christian mystical classic Cloud of Unknowing , to find in it a model for living with nondual consicousness.

1.What where you doing before the thread was opened? Anything important? Not really, depends,,,, Better not say. 2. How did you get to where you are now? By just being myself. Though I often catch myself doing things the hard way. 3. Do you really know if you were doing anything before opening this thread? Yes. I was definitely and completely there. 4. If applicable, what did you block out to focus on the check in? Some inner considering regarding a friend I took a walk with this morning. 5. What is now, compared to before? About the same. I’m getting sleepy though. 6. Who am I? I am a field of impressionability 5. Is this a dream? No 8. Am I more focused now than before? About the same. I feel a little more balanced though.

If you want to look at Will Mesa’s contribution to the science of Idiotism just click on the link at the bottom. This is a sampler I took out about what he says about Zigzag Idiots,,,,, The zigzag idiot moves in all directions but never around like the round idiot but rather in a zigzag manner. In the Work he goes one way, learns something useful, and then moves in another direction learning something else. He is always trying to learn something new by moving in different directions but the only problem is that he cannot choose one path. He finishes a book in Hinduism and then goes for another one in Jung psychology, and then to another one on Zen, and so and so. There is nothing a zigzag idiot loves most than a living room full of books with a small flower in a center table as a little reminder that there is such things as Life and Nature. A zigzag idiot in the Work is always quoting from books about the Work he had read. I know a young woman dear essence-friend of mine, the personification of the zigzag idiot, who is always quoting from Work books. “Oh, yes, I saw that in Commentaries.” “Well, that is in the New Model of the Universe.” “You telling me, I saw the same thing in The New Man.” One day I asked her not to quote anymore and to use her own words as a way to develop her own individuality and that what she was doing was a sort of eternal recurrence and she responded: “Well, now that you mention it, I saw that in The Strange Live of Ivan Osokin.” At the end, the zigzag idiot has read so many books that he does not remember any. But he is without doubt a high class of idiot because while he is moving zigzagging he always learns something. If he dies as a zigzag idiot he will have enough knowledge for at least ten successive reincarnations. What kind of Idiot are you? https://willmesa.wordpress.com/2015/04/18/on-idiocy-and-idiots/

Using the retroactive three coin method (rtcm) I asked the Oracle- Can the Science of Idiotism be a relevant tool for learning in contemporary times? +++ A firm yes was the answer.

Well,,,no. Maybe I should. Although these beliefs were and may still be ,,,semiconscious. I guess is the word. I’m open to receiving messages about death I feel. For some reason I just don’t ask direct questions too often. My realization was that I didn’t know. Only conceptually, which makes it more of an opinion than knowledge. I’ve gotten more practice with saying the Inner No when it’s appropriate versus where I was in the past. Linguistic thought. I like that term. It was given to the helper of Transformation implicitly with my realization of these subtle beliefs. Reading your take on this, I’ve now more consciously and deliberately asked that it be handed over. It’s amazing just how differently we both go about use of the I CHING. This is good for me. You’re suggestions are helping me to push into new territory in how I go about things in consultation with the Sage. For now I’m going to ponder this some more,,,

The new historical era started on February 4, 1962 with a solar eclipse over New Guinea. At that time all of the planets, except for the trans-Saturanian ones, were located at 15 degrees Aquarius. There is no need for an apocalypse, and no need to wait for a future age of coming good. The New Age is already here, the potential is at hand. All that is needed is understanding and work to fulfill the new potentials. The procession of the vernal equinox point in the Cosmic Year proceeds backwards clockwise through the constellations: 72 years for one degree, 2,160 for one "cosmic month" or sign, and 25,920 years for the whole Zodiac. The 26,000 number corresponds fractally to the number of breaths in a day. The history of Neolithic Man, of Humanity from a global point of view, covers five completed ages, and as mentioned has just entered the sixth stage. SIX AGES OF COSMIC HISTORY 8838 - Clan - Animism 6678 - Tribe - Vision Quest 4518 - City - Book of the Dead, Writing 2358 - People - Ritualization of Life 198 B.C. - Empire - Messenger of God 1962 A.D. - Humanity - Technology, Personal Way from http://www.chanceandchoice.com/course-overview/time-cycles/ There’s a permanent clearance sale now. @tsuki The belief in death that was mentioned. When I really pondered it, I realized that the ideas I have about death are just conceptual because I really don’t know. It’s not something my belly center has latched onto to for embodiment. As the centers go, the heart or feeling center is not really participating either. I also still catch myself putting the knowledge Book as well as the Sage as above me. That seems to creep back in from time to time. ? Reading this line you wrote caused my ego to puff up.? It was observed anyhow. Thank you, friend. I also realized that I got this same changing line within the last 2 or 3 weeks. I was unable to bookmark it for some reason so I will just copy and paste it in case others are interested in taking up the I CHING and are following along.

@tsuki I got the answer through following your suggestion. I got hexagram 4 -Youthful folly changing lines 4&5 making a second hexagram of 6 -Conflict. I even used the rtcm to verify if I got the the message. The answer was +++ ☺️I bet you crack a grin if you read those changing lines. Thank you for your help, friend.

Peace is Union by Dr. Jim Rosen ©2020 Dr. Jim Rosen Your inner peace, your inner calm, comes when you are joined to others. Peace is in union; peace is in our Oneness. Your peace of mind is no small matter. It depends on making yourself aware, and doing your best to stay aware, of the fact that you are joined to others. This takes mental effort. You don’t have to be in the physical presence of others to be joined with them. Your thoughts bring you together with others, or your thoughts make you separate and alone. You choose with your thoughts. When you feel at peace, you are feeling your true Self. This is your higher, deeper Self, which is One with all of us. If you feel at peace for even a few moments, those are moments of touching our wholeness. We are not whole as separate individuals. We are whole because we are all joined, because we are all One. We are at peace in our Oneness. Your true Self knows the peace of union. Happy Holidays & Stay Healthy

love Karen Carpenters voice. I’ve been mocked and ridiculed more than once for this. I don’t care. Its always an insecure person who does this. I see a number of insecure people that are unconscious of their own insecurity. They’re afraid of looking at their own fear. I’ve had that experience before too. I think she’s of mercurial (thyroid) essence type. Stevie nicks has a mercurial sounding voice but she looks martial (adrenal) essence. Well, I don’t know if I could call her voice mercurial or not. Hers is a unique voice anyway. Most everyone knows that Christmas wasn’t Jesus’ birthday. That was just a political move by the Roman Emporer in which he placed this event at the pagan holiday celebrating the winter solstice. I jive with pagans more than church goers. The idea of people being born guilty is just,,,,, ignorant. Most churches reinforce this stumbling block which perpetuates fear and ignorance. They practice Churchianity and Jesusism as Yogananda humorously puts it. This is probably all the Christmas music I’m gonna play.

Zigzag Idiot replied to levani's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yeah, I guess. That’s a tough one because we’re all different. For me, too much planning seems to make it sour so I have everything in place then be spontaneous when I feel good about it and circumstances allow it. For me 500ug lsd or 5 dried gram of cubencis. We’re all different though so you’ll have to figure that out. It’s smart to play it safe and start with a lower dose the first time. -

something like an adrenaline shot to get out of it or ? I agree with @Forestluv about being around other people although if you could have a trip sitter that you have confidence in or trip with a veteran tripper who is likeminded. On your first trip that would be better, IMO Set and setting! Don’t resist it when it’s coming on. Be lighthearted! With mushrooms, there’s a possibility of finding answers to your fears. More so than lsd. I’m a believer in taking a stout dose that overwhelms you so you don’t resist and then get caught in between resulting in a bad trip. Go fairly light the first time though with lsd. re: is there something like an adrenaline shot to get out of it or ? Dont resist. If you have a history of having much anxiety it might not hurt to have a benzodiazepine on hand just in case.
