  1. Enlightenment is bliss in it self. If you searching for a spiritual awakening and think of enlightenment, why would you still then keep living your old life? Enlightenment is the result of the spiritual path it is not an object or thing it is the culmination of the truth being brought forward in the cultivation of mind and body. Earthly needs will no longer be of interests,
  2. 99% if what we in the west see as Enlighten masters are honestly not enlighten. They do know much, but they are not enlighten in the true form of enlightenment. Many spiritual leader or masters have moved to west to try to save the people here, that is true, But being a spiritual teacher does not in it self make them enlighten.
  3. A lot of the spiritual life in the west does come original from Asia, not only India But it is important to see the difference in Spiritual life and modern infrastructure. West have become very materalistic while East have still the most population who are spiritual in some way. To stat that there is no longer anything in Inda is not fully true. There is still a lot of spirituality there, but yes the main religions have moved of of India and example Buddhism has moved mainly to Thailand. That does not make India a bad place for a religious person. But due to politics India is less of a spiritual country now then it was before, that is true.
  4. 2018 is just a number in a row of other numbers What has been are no longer in existance. What will come (2019) has not yet begun Only what is present moment can be experienced.
  5. Both Buddhism and Hinduism has become a religion. But in the beginning it was a cultivation path, not build on belief but about realization of no self. Buddha even said at one time, All he had teached was how to end suffering. But humans put to much in to it Shakyamuni did never call his teaching Buddhism, it is called Dhamma/Dharma and it is the same in Hinduism. So it is humans later on who called it this "isms"
  6. Do not set a time limit on the things you want to achieve. You say you want to end your Ego. Ego are one of the huge attachments and maybe the one who take the longest to let go ( for most people). In my experieance Ego is the last of the attachments to disapear. Other attachments like greed, anger, delution, jealosy, and so will be more easy to let go of. I can not answer for others but this is the way it happend for me.
  7. When you are new to meditation it can be very difficult to sit for a long time in retreat My journey have now lasted 20 years and the longest retreat i have done is 5 days. What do i do in a retreat? at morning at 04.00 in morning waking up. morning meditation start 04.30 to 08.00 then i eat a small meal and again meditate to 12.00. Then for me it is study of Dharma (buddhist teaching) to 03.00 afternoon, and from 03.00 to 08.00 in afternoon i meditate. 08.30 i sleep to morning 04.00. But For you i would say 2 hours 3 times a day in a weekend is max the first retreat Hope this help a little
  8. Yes i agree to your request. i was only answering a question, but maybe a PM would have been better
  9. Thank you. I will take a look at the website I studied the suttas in The long discourse of the buddha. (digha nikaya) and meditated vipassa meditation. May you be well too
  10. In years i have cultivated for 20 years, but if you think of wisdom level it is not something i talk a lot about, because it is easy to misunderstand, but in meditation i come to the point of no thoughts arise. and meditation is no longer bound to sitting meditation
  11. Thank you for explaining this to me as a buddhist i have not studied hinduism that much
  12. Yes we are agree I have heard there is two ways one can reach enlightenment, Sudden enlightenment happens right away where you reach full potential and gradually where you gain higher and higher enlightenment until you reach the very top, this in my understanding was Buddha Shakyamunis way of enlightenment, and the most common way of enlightenment
  13. I have noticed a lot of people here talk about enlightenment and about experieances in Enlightenment. Why is there so much clinging to the thought of it? The first we must let go is the thought of ego. there is no "self" With still clinging to self one will not experience enlightenment.
  14. I can give advice to the level of wisdom i have attained, but not of higher wisdom level. If what i say does not fit the path you are on then it is ok to not listen to my understanding of the truth of enlightenment.
  15. If you thinking that every realization you gain in the cultivation path as an enlightenment then you are more or less correct. But an full enlightenment example to a Tataghata level are two ways to gain. Exmple Buddha Shakyamuni used 6 years to reach full enlightenment to tataghata. But if the enlightenment is Arahant it can less time. And it also depend on your frutaition of inner wisdom. Samadhi is only one stage of enlightenment.
  16. Enlightenment is the result of the "path" one must first "walk" it to gain the inner wisdom that will be the enlightenment moment, One can not put the resut first then say that is what i want. First step is always letting go of human thinking and attachments to life as human being.
  17. I am not enlighten, But the third eye is the pineal galnd that sit in the middle of the bran, and it is the spiritual eye that opens when you gain inner wisdom from cultivation in a spiritual path, It opens in a way tht you do not see the world with only the physical eyes. But it does not make any magical chemicals. the brain is only a reciever for the eye sight, hearing, smelling and tasting, it is like a computer that translate the senses. As far as i know it does not change in the moment you enlighten. But during meditation the brain does have some changes. Other people may see it differently then i do
  18. So do you do it for the money, or do you rent a place that is so expensive you must take high price? Money in a spiritual life does not mean anything, only in the physical life some people are longing for much money.
  19. This is what Buddha Shakyamuni said about how to realize Enlightenment. "These seven factors of enlightenment, bhante (Ven. Sir), are well expounded and are cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. They conduce to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. What are the seven? i. "Mindfulness, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One, and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. ii. "Investigation of the Dhamma, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. iii. "Persevering effort, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. iv. "Rapture, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. v. "Calm, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. vi. "Concentration, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. vii. "Equanimity, the factor of enlightenment, bhante, is well expounded by the Blessed One, and is cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. It conduces to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana. These seven factors of enlightenment, bhante, are well expounded and cultivated and fully developed by the Blessed One. They conduce to perfect understanding, to full realization and to Nibbana."
  20. I askd because you clame to be Enlighten and honestly you show sign of not have the knowledge an enlighten being would have. I do not mean to be rude, but i dont see any sign that indicate you actually has enlighten. When i talked about Buddha`s you clame it is only one, and this answer is wrong. Ther are countless Buddhas Gods and devas. So when i saw the topic name of this tread i was surprised that if a true enlighten master was here, why would he clame to be one? There are no need to clame to be enlighten, because those who would follow you would automaticly understand it from your teaching
  21. Life as spiritual is to understand the origin and to go back to it some call it awardness other call it consiousness or nothingness. but this Physical world of our is made up by our attachments and our clinging to life as we are tought it to be so it is not the true life
  22. Buddha did not seek enlightenment in it self, buddha seeked answer to end human suffering and founf answer in 4 noble truth and the 8 folded path. Meditation was only the tool to see clearly what needed to be done, enlightenment is not the goal, it is the result of letting go of all attachments to human life. life is suffering because we clinging to what we want and what we do not want. when realizing that when w stop hunting for what we want, it suddenly lay right in front of us. You also need to understand that there is no self : self = ego
