  1. I would add that the thing about suicidal ideation/depression — if left untreated — is that it comes in waves. So there might be some stability for a while, but sooner or later it'll come back and probably stronger.
  2. Set an intention. Take a small dosage. Don't do it if you're on a bad mood, or if you don't feel safe in the environment you're in.
  3. That's pretty silly
  4. You need a good psychiatrist!!! ASAP
  5. Have you read the book "The Morning Miracle"?
  6. You need both. Spend time with others, and then have moments of introspection. Being alone for too much time is extremely toxic.
  7. a substance that can make you trip
  8. I think this is an ineffective and unhealthy strategy. You don't put out a fire with more logs. You put out it with water. Human connection and bonding is an innegotiable human need.
  9. Yes! I think the goal should not to annihilate the ego, but to have a healthy one. mother nature developed the ego in us for a reason...
  10. @twoosees i think that cannabis these days could be classified as a psychedelic, because they can be very potent. why did you stop? do you plan to use those types of substances in the future?
  11. Exactly. "The only way to reach God is to learn how to be human."
  12. Don't forget to also be open-minded. During a period in my life, I was adamant in my belief that psychedelics were the key to unleashing infinite freedom ("enlightenment"). Whoever criticized what I was doing (that is, tripping every weekend), I would immediately get defensive and I would block what the other person was saying. That also happened with meditation. I used to meditate 4 hours a day. And I couldn't see how that was actually hurting me.
  13. The way you were expressing yourself instantly reminded me of hypomania/mania. Have you ever taken any medication for that? Lithium or something?
  14. I don't get it. In what way is music hurting you?
  15. Do you work/study?
  16. I can relate to what you're saying. I used to not believe that I could live a happy & normal life. But it is definitely possible. The key is to find good professionals.
  17. That's a very important & tricky topic. I guess you develop this sense through trial and error. A therapist or a trustworthy friend can also help with that. I highly recommend this episode: (And also the book that Leo cites in that video).
  18. interesting. i hope this gives you good results
  19. This is a myth. Taking the right medication helps you actually feel emotions. Depression is the thing that blocks them. Dude, quit this mindset! Seeking help is by no means being weak. Quite the contrary. It takes a lot of courage to do so.
  20. Never, ever try to be positive. Focus on being natural & authentic.
  21. Hey, if you ever go to a psychiatrist, ask him if you can take bupropion. This medication has been very effective for me. Contrary to other antidepressants, it doesn't give you sexual problems and it also tends to decrease one's appettite (it's not recommended for people who have anorexia, for example). This medication is commonly prescribed to people who have been experiencing lack of volition, which is just a fancy word for will power. How's the therapy going?
