To me it's two dictators respecting each other. Trump hasn't had to go head to head with him. He's playing poker. If he had to he would probably slit his throat in the night. Yeah but you're asking the US to force Putin's hand. That would cause a direct confrontation. Note in WW2 we didn't do that. We got involved when it was ultimately necessary. Thats all that's going on here. Except Trump doesn't want to spend all this money on Ukraine when a deal can be struck. Zelensky doesn't really want a deal and maybe rightfully so based on the past. He feels either it won't be fair or Putin will break it. But in his current position he may need to drink the kool-aid.

Zelensky is severely tainted by Putin. You could see it. He doesn't trust Putin anymore. And you have to realize even if US were to bend over. backwards and offer all the guarantees Zelensky wants, Putin still has to agree to them. There's two sides to this. And while he has the upper hand he is going to be less willing to give Zelensky all that he wants. Its unfortunate for Zelensky. But it's a reality. Trump reminded him that he's in no position to be dictating his demands to Putin. He needs to take what is offered. If anything. Again Putin has to agree. The US wanted to see more humility. Now..I have not seen the US leaders show humility either. So it's like calling the kettle black.

Lol 😆 Zelensky stood up to the bullies so I said he proved me wrong. The US is bullying him. But the US has also given him billions of dollars in aid and they feel he doesn't want to work on a ceasefire. However I think he does with guarantees. Putin went back on previous ceasefire. The problem is the US is caught in the middle. If it sides too much with Ukraine it will find itself head to head with Putin. And at the same time we are tired of sending them so much money. The war continues to drag on. Trump is a businessman first. He is kind of playing both sides because he doesn't want a direct confrontation with Putin and Russia. I feel worse for Ukraine because they are in such a bad position. They may need to drink the cool aid here. And he's not. I think he's being a little too bold for his britches. But I'd probably do the same thing.
