@Jkris well first lets clarify what we call the word enlightenment. Winterknight is using it in the context of Truth or God. In that context since the ego is an illusion masking the formless underneath which is God - then God or Truth is ever present whether in a state of form, the ego, or a state of formlessness - or Being. Being is Absolute Infinity or pure potential. Therefore there is no one to be eniightened as Truth or God is all there is...it is One and it is always One. But if we use the word enlightenment in a different context - rather we use it as God seeing through his own illusion and discovering himself - that is what we commonly call it. There still is no person, and God was always God, but he is discovering himself through his own illusion, the very illusion he created in which to escape himself. "He" is used metaphorically here of course. But this discovering requires mystical experiences. During which the form or ego collapses and only Being remains. Prior to that ego was on top of Being. A state of Being is completely non-dual and bliss, and Truth or facets of Truth are revealed to you. Not as the ego but as God. So it's God's experience Does that help?

@tecladocasio God is enlightening itself. That's what is really going on. God is infinite and is itself. It cannot escape to anywhere. Thus it limits itself with duality/form/illusion to forget itself. Thats the only way to virtually escape itself. Through division. So it is God that is discovering itself or enlightening itself. Over and over forever. And their are stages God discovers itself in. It would be too much in its limited form to handle becoming itself all at once. And you are God.

@Mikael89 a mystical experience isn't an experience. This is a bad word for it because words can't capture it! You literally collapse into Being (which you always were) but minus the ego. You die dude! And then you are reborn! It's quite amazing!

@SoonHei exactly!! But you can call that whatever you want..its just a word or a duality..call it Awakening or Enlightenment, or don't call it anything. Call it becoming aware that you are awareness. Call it the illusion discovering its an illusion. Call it God being God. We can go on and on with duality. Its basically God enlightening himself - and their are stages - it's Not a person as he stated.

It can be stated that Enlightenment is Truth, or God. One is already enlightened or being Infinity/God/Being right now. It matters not whether they are Being (formlessness - form/ego) or if they are the ego/form/content within Being or Infinity (or a part or finitude of infinity) its all One. But keep in mind that as the form you have forgotten you are formless. You did this to yourself because there was no where else to go. No where else to escape. You can become conscious and discover that you are the formless. It doesn't change that you were One the whole time. But at the same time it allows you to know yourself through yourself and rediscover and create yourself over and over forever. So by forgetting, or limiting, you are virtually escaping yourself. How ingenious!

Indeed. This is why it is said that one is already enlightened. Which isn't quite right either because it is from one relative perspective. Well said. Enlightenment is a duality The Absolute is the Absolute. Part of duality is the duality becoming aware that it is non-duality. Reality turning in on itself.

And the reason it is within the whole is because it cannot reach outside to grasp the whole. Finity cannot grasp infinity. That's mario stuck in the video game. He just doesn't know he's a mystic yet. But Mario is a part of the game, and still the whole game.

@tecladocasio not nonsense my good man. Think about it. All is One. Duality is division into parts. Parts are part of the whole part still the whole. You can look at it as a part but its actually within the whole. Yet all is still One. Both perspectives are true simultaneously.

@Gili Trawangan also i think you have to be at a stage of development in your life where you as the ego have adapted and grown through suffering. And release any clinging to beliefs. Natural consciousness growth. Combine that with mysticism and oh boy.

@Gili Trawangan meditation and self inquiry which led to mystical experiences that led to much higher levels of consciousness. How long have you been meditating and what techniques?

Being/Absolute infinity/consciousness/God/formlessness/nothingness/You It is itself for Eternity. It is itself so much that there is no where to go, no where to escape. So much so that it bursts into illusion/form/duality/limitation. It is all it can do. It is all you can do. You must continually discover yourself to Eternity. You must simply, BE.

@Aldo he would most likely slowly try to transition himself out of it. Maybe write some books on enlightenment or find another source of income. Or if he preferred he would evolve his business into a stage yellow business. He would evolve either way.

@tecladocasio indeed. From the perspective of Being. The no perspective perspective. Pure potential is nothingness and everything simultaneously. Just depends on how you view it. But there ARE Absolutes that you as the illusory ego can become conscious of. The formed becoming conscioisness of its own formlessness. Reality is a strange loop.

@tecladocasio i think maybe an easier way to put it is that you as the ego can become more conscious with certain realizations. Mystical experiences will reveal different realizations about reality. One will most likely not have all realizations with one mystical experience. It's too much. These realizations are Absolutes. There is only One Absolute but it has many facets. You will become more and more conscious as you have more realizations.

Enlightenment and non-enlightenment are dualities.
