Yes indeed i am going to take another look as well if i get the time. I still respect the guy as one of the greatest philosophers ever. But in the end i don't think he made the jump out of materialism. He still felt reality was not a dream but rather was an objective, physical reality and not consciousness. Did you study him?

I can only go by my own path. I started out as an unconscious, selfish fuck. As far from Truth as humanly possible hehe. Through the decades this caused me massive suffering. But i did grow from it and became more conscious. I had started becoming more honest with others and most importantly with myself and less selfish. More loving. Started opening up and crying for the first time in decades. And then if you remember you and i both found spiritiality/mysticism around the same time. And then it happened. It never would have happened if i was still the old me. Maybe for others it's different.

You would then be deceased or close to it. You certainly wouldn't be here. The mindfuck is that death is an illusion anyway and you would just melt into Infinite Love anyway. You can't escape yourself. Infinity has no where to go.

Indeed. A better way to say it is Descartes did not become directly conscious of Truth. But then again, the highest Truth is that he is in your imagination. As was the Buddha.

@Nak Khid @Mert is not wrong about Descartes. "I think therefore i am" stated by Descartes implied he could trust his own mind. He was wrong. The ego is an illusion and will try to deceive you every step of the way. He thought there was an evil demon out there. The evil demon is your own mind. He was wrong about that. He was also wrong about reality.

Because right now you are not conscious you are God. When God aligns itself fully with Truth it wakes up to itself. Waking up is the ultimate gift to itself. Inner growth raises one's consciousness. Higher consciousness leads to wisdom. Wisdom leads to Truth.

Think of it like this. Consciousness isn't happening within the brain. "The brain" exists within consciousness. It's imaginary. This shatters the materialist paradigm.

You're still stuck in the materialist paradigm. There is nothing wrong with that! You just have to do the practices. You say you are doing them though and i believe you. Therefore maybe it's not time for you to break out of the dream. So go live. When it happens it happens. I will say this - you are on this forum and you are touching the outskirts of awakening - and awakening is a miracle. Therefore you are so close. But for me you are a projection of my mind. How can i awaken someone that is me? So it has to happen for you when you are ready!

Absolute Love is only realized after awakening. The love for your family is finite love - it's partial and bias. Just like the ego is finite and needs to survive. Finite love is based on bias. It doesn't mean it is not a subset of Absolute love or that it should be rejected. Without it you would be dead. But God realization / spiritual awakening is about pure selflessness. You have to become conscious that the self is an illusion and that you are the Absolute. Then you will become conscious of Infinite Love. Infinite Love is a different beast. It is pure Infinity.

Yeah and when you awaken you realize the whole time that you were pointing yourself towards awakening. That all of this is just you guiding you. Haha. The ultimate mindfuck. But that's Oneness. That's Self Love.

as you prepare for psychedelics you can do meditation practices in the meantime such as self inquiry. That way you are getting your baseline up as much as you can prior to. But it sounds like you are already doing that. I can tell you are serious about it

Give the rationalizing a break for a bit and try the spiritual practices if you wish. The teachings can't take you there. Mysticsm is required to transcend logic and to grasp this through Being.

Imagination is reality so yes. They are being imagined by You as God. Is there an objective, physical reality behind the scenes? No. Atoms and molecules are held within your consciousness. If you inspect close enough, everything is held within your consciousness. Because consciousness is all there is!

Ya need an awakening to really grasp it because it requires a state of pure Being. But it is because of Absolute Infinity. Absolute Infinity is everything and nothing - thus it has no ground or is a hallucination. The substance of all of this is nothing. The substance of atoms, molecules....nothing. So reality is a giant Mind. Oneness has no ground because it is ABSOLUTELY everything. Nothing outside it. A hand cannot grasp itself, it just is itself.

Counterintuitively the embrace and acceptance of suffering will lead to the liberation of it Don't turn to relieve the suffering externally or deny it. This leads to addictions such as porn in your case. For others it is alcoholism or drugs. Nay, turn within. Feel and absorb the suffering within and feel it through to the core of your being. Meditation practices will help with this. Sitting in silent contemplation. This is hard to do but its the only way through. You are not separate from reality. You ARE reality. So coming face to face with yourself, embracing yourself and loving yourself is the only way.
