  1. @aurum When a client says he has some emotional problems, do you sometimes approach this with spiritual truths, e.g. you're not your thoughts etc. Or do I have a wrong image about what life coaches do?
  2. @Joseph Maynor I think I know what you mean Without ego, there's no progress, which is bad. Did you mean that?
  3. Strive towards living the best life possible without your happiness being dependent on it. or in other words Detach and go all in! That's it in my opinion. Often times I get too caught up in wanting growth, the perfect future, and therefore not appreciating the process, the present. Even if I'm going to make more progress that way, I'm not enjoying the finite time of my life at that moment. So when I take a step back, I see that I will have a better life by enjoying the journey, even if the outcome maybe will be slightly worse. On the other hand I've noticed that if I'm just present and enjoy that bliss, after a while I'm not happy anymore and I'm longing for growth. So work seems necessary at this point in my life. That state, in which I'm already fulfilled before I've accomplished anything, by realizing that everything is perfect right at this moment, and then deciding to take upon the difficulties of growth because it's the most rewarding and exciting way to live; that is in my opinion how to combine the best of spirituality and psychology, leading to a fulfilling life. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Also, I'm very curious what your sentence would be. So feel free to share yours.
  4. @Joseph Maynor Why would you say that too much no ego is a trap? Wouldn't that be the path to enlightenment, which is certainly something to strive for?
  5. @aurum Oh when will the book be published? I will consider buying it. Do you also give spiritual advice, tackeling problems through that approach?
  6. @aurum If I may ask you some more questions What is the road to becoming a life coach? I heard you need a certificate. And who would you advise against becoming one? What are some traits one should have?
  7. @fewrocker Exactly! Love those!
  8. @ivory Yes! But sometimes a step back is also a step forward, regarding spiritual growth.
  9. @UDT The second one. But I just realized through your question that I'm not really interested in psychology as a whole but rather in self-actualization.
  10. I really like to learning and researching, especially in the fields of psychology and spirituality. What are possible careers for me?
  11. @aurum Yeah that's what I'm also thinking, the market is flooded. Was it difficult to get started and what is the minimum age in your opinion to become one? You know, few people will hire a 20 year old I think.
  12. @Adam M Hey what is your plan after taking this year off if I may ask?
  13. @Anton Rogachevski I also have this feeling that spirituality is the solution to near every problem, including this one. Got to watch Leo's new video Thank you!
  14. Those two seemingly different topics sometimes confuse me. Spirituality is about disidentifying from your ego. Self-Actualization is about improving your ego. Spirituality is about being selfless. Self-Actualization is about gaining more self esteem. Is there a connection between those two polar opposites? Should you try to better yourself because a healthy ego is easier to transcend? And should you do both simultaneously or focus solely on one for a while and then switch to the other one?
  15. @Ero Oh yeah spiral dynamics..I think a lot of confusion stems from not having watched it yet. Have watch it as soon as possible. You seem to be very aware and to have good intentions, so keep going besides relapses! <3
  16. @Nahm @TheAvatarState Alright, I'll purchase it! Thank you!
  17. @TheAvatarState Yes! Thank you very much, now I've got more clearity!
  18. @Nahm Yes the Alchemist was on my book list, maybe it's a good time to ready it?
  19. @TheAvatarState Becoming more self-confident, more extroverted, developing discipline etc. But I feel like spirituality actually solves a lot of these problems.
  20. @TheAvatarState Ah I see. But you still improve your personality while realizing who you are?
  21. @Nahm Great advice, thank you! I agree, self love is essential. Could you please briefly elaborate on "self-actualization & spirituality are one and the same"? No I know what you mean, without desire my life would have more clearity, I think. But on the other hand I want to live the best life possible and when I'm just focusing in spirituality after a while I get the sense of something lacking, which is progess in the world of form. Should I then not give into that and solely make progress from a space of love without diving too much into the whole self improvement mindset?
  22. @Hellspeed What exactly do you mean? That Self-Actualization is just a concept?
  23. @TheAvatarState Self-Actualization is about optimizing your character, your personality. Spirituality is about realizing that this character is an illusion. So yes, I think that you can self-actualize without practicing spirituality. What do you think?
  24. I want to help people and I can picture myself being a therapist. But I am questioning if the traditional way is the right one for me. Firstly, psychology in university isn't teaching positive psychology or high consciousness material. Secondly, I could be limited in only using certain scientific proven theories, which don't really tackle the root cause. Which jobs exist where I can help people while still having the freedom of doing that with high consciousness approaches?
