  1. @Leo Gura Sorry. I meant to give an honest opinion I have with that particular meme. It's so simplistic and dismissive. I did not mean to imply that @Robi Steel has low intellect.
  2. It was particularly popular among far-right communities. As far as I'm concerned, it's a far-right meme. To be honest, I'm surprised you admitted to using that dumb meme. You could have just said that you weren't using it and I'd look pretty dumb. Liking that meme doesn't necessarily make you far-right, it just doesn't reflect well on intellect. You come across like this guy:
  3. Refrain from using far-right memes on this forum please. The Nordic Gamer meme was already pretty unintelligent to begin with.
  4. Tucker Carlson's face on TV always looks like what a liberal's face looks like whenever they hear something Tucker Carlson said on TV.
  5. Massive Positive Change For Reddit. Small Positive Step For Online Discourse.
  6. That's not why people are calling him a cult leader, though. This is different. Again, from his own Wikipedia entry. . . "It was reported that, of the estimated 50,000 users of the website, about 20 (0.04%) FDR members had also disassociated from their families-of-origin, and that many parents chose not to speak to the media in an effort to avoid alienating their children further. The British Cult Information Centre (CIC) has described Freedomain Radio as a cult. A representative of the CIC said they were following FDR, and said that one sign of cults was that they cut people off from their families. Molyneux responded by saying, "If I advised a wife to leave an abusive husband, there would not be articles about how I am a cult leader"."
  7. @Leo Gura What do you think of the allegations that Molyneux is a cult leader? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Molyneux "The Freedomain internet community which Molyneux leads has been described as a cult, and Molyneux has been described as a cult leader, using cult indoctrination techniques on his followers."
  8. That is an insult to 4chan. At least some of them have read at least one book. . . Mein Kampf.
  9. I like David Pakman's take on this. He recognizes that this is a matter of who's in charge of private companies and if you don't run YouTube, you just don't get to dictate what counts as content that is allowed on the platform. Libertarian ideals of social media platforms being "neutral" are inherently self-biased and selfish. He also calls Stephan Molyneux a 'conspiracy theorist' and says Trump's Twitter should also be banned. Both a bit more controversial but I would also stand by them.
  10. Being a confused mathematician.
  11. Kyle Kulinski does not understand Spiral Dynamics. He thinks the Reddit, YouTube, and Twitch purge is part of a plot being done by "The Establishment" to eventually silence all fringe accounts regardless of political leaning. He also didn't even seem to know r/ChapTrapHouse was removed because it was too toxic, not because it was far left. His "free speech" take on this is ridiculous and borderline conspiratorial.
  12. Ehhh. . . Thing is. . . Molyneux's channel has sorta gone past its prime. He's hardly had much of a dedicated fanbase compared to other conservatives. Even the leftist channels have largely ignored him in recent months. I can see a case being made if it were somebody like Steven Crowder or Ben Shapiro who still have large followings. But Molyneux's banning along with other prominent far-righters are only going to be really weaponized by far-right viewers and libertarian ideologues. I don't think the general public cares if someone can be reasoned with. They only care if the speaker is popular enough and seemingly likable enough to them. Becoming mainstream enough for enough of the public to defend you is the name of the game here.
  13. Just as puke is more preferable to shit, I guess. As long as the channels being banned aren't overwhelmingly moderate conservatives, I'm pretty happy about this. They still get to have speech elsewhere, of course: elsewhere where there's less moderation. The more mainstream channels need to have higher standards of content. You can empathize all you want with all his videos being taken down but that ignores the kind of effect those videos had to the minds of an unwitting audience and potential future viewers. Not as bad as Alex Jones's influence but that's a very low bar to hold standards for. Don't forget non-violent far-righters like Ben Shapiro and Lauren Southern have been mentioned in shooter manifestos before. Doesn't mean they should get banned for it but it should at least cause them self-reflect a bit on their views. I think it did Lauren Southern a bit because she recently came back with more moderate centrist views recently.
  14. haha. Though I can't put films on a shuffle playlist and they typically don't only last 3-4 minutes long. As long as I don't listen to Heavy Metal genres on a regular basis, I should be fine. In my real life, I actually prefer documentaries and animated films.
  15. That's sorta my story too. I used to be a huge fan of Hardcore Techno stuff but the more consciousness work I've done, the more I've begun to appreciate more moderate laid-back styles of Dance music. Plus I was also just really pretentious about being "hardcore" back then, it was childish and I had to let it go. Although maybe Hardcore Electronic music has a more "hypnotic" feel to me than Hardcore Rock music. To be perfectly honest, I'm not that big a fan of the latter so perhaps I'm not completely on board with Heavy Metal as you might think I am. Hardcore Techno could be a bit more of a compromise for me and my consciousness work than most Heavy Metal tracks.
  16. @Leo Gura Don't create an arbitrary duality between Heavy Metal and Classical music.
  17. So pretentious lol. . . Letting yourself loose to hardcore music is still a legitimate expression of consciousness. Personally, I'm more of a House/Techno guy but I have great respect for the dark (musical) arts.
  18. Culture wars have been going on online since 2016 and maybe even earlier lol.
  19. It's about the Orange Square incident. lolz
  20. Yes, I started an entire thread about it. But it's still good you posted it here. That thread is now locked by a mod after it sparked a few unnecessary arguments.
  21. LOL. Meanwhile. . . . Libertarians two months ago: "The Lockdown is One of Humanity's Biggest Mistakes in Modern History"
  22. I still like Vaush overall. But yeah, this is my issue with not just him but his ilk in a nutshell. They'll often dismiss types like Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, or even David Pakman as neo-liberals as if they're brand of progressivism gets nothing accomplished or actively enforces the status quo.
  23. @Leo Gura I've thought about it some more and now I genuinely think you're wrong in saying that Vaush thinks most conservatives are fascists. Not quite sure where you got that from. I've been a fan of his content for many months and I never got that message from him. And he certainly has never just said it outright. I think he just believes that there is a significant section of online right-wing political discourse that largely represents fascist behavior. I don't think you're being charitable enough to him but I will admit that he does lean towards ideological tendencies as well. But hey, at least he recognizes the importance of voting for Biden 2020 lol.
  24. @Epikur Don't argue this with me. It's very simple to understand. I have better things to do. Edit: Read up on what a mental illness is. I think that's mostly your problem here.
