FoxFoxFox replied to Recursoinominado's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Recursoinominado You are not capable of doing anything. That is the illusion. Things happen by themselves. Your mind just makes conclusions about stuff and if those conclusions are happy - then you think you are happy. If they are sad, then you say I am sad. Don't think. Be. Also, it matters tremendously how its named. Dark night of the soul is a very real phenomenon, and of actual significance on universal scales. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Highest's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Highest The ego doesn't really exist to begin with. What we call ego is really just the body (and not even that). It will die when it dies. "Ego death" is a real misnomer. Nobody should chase ego death. Better to chase liberation. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Pouya's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Pouya Proper mediation, is any spiritual practice that produces the following effect: You become witness to everything. You witness the world, your thoughts about it, your emotions. You witness objects and people. Doing so will somewhat orient awareness on awareness, that is to say you become familiar with the fact that you are more of an empty and imperceptible space inside which things happen. Let's call this pure being. Once this happens, the mind should not be very active. This is still not enlightenment because there is a duality between the witness and the objects of witnessing. For that to happen, all notions that one is a being who is witnessing the world must also go. All concepts and theories about the world, God, life etc must also go. All sense of personal existence must go. The thought "I am" should not even arise within you. This happens by giving up the mediation at the right moment, once the witness - or pure being - has been established in the place where the egoic "I am" for long enough and with the right amount of intensity. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Dumb Enlightened's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Dumb Enlightened Keep going back into that peaceful state. Eventually it will stick. What you are experiencing is fairly typical of successful meditators. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Pouya's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Pouya You are under the illusion that the mind is the ultimate arbiter of your experience. Experience happens by its own, within you - which is to say you are more accurately an empty space of awareness. The mind then creates the world out of this experience through labels and words, and begins to rationalize it based on its precepts. Witness the mind - which is to say become aware of your real nature as the fact of awareness. You'll immediately see that what you thought was you (the mind) is really a phenomena occurring within the same space of awareness as everything else. The next step would be to witness the mind's tendency to hog your focus and energy, which results in self-limiting. This tendency is what must go, and when it does, all the problems you mentioned in your post will vanish into thin air. To get rid of that tendency, meditate properly. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Recursoinominado's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Recursoinominado This is the dark night of the mind, not the dark night of the soul which is something else entirely. The solution to your problem is to constantly remind yourself that the mind is intrinsically incapable of figuring out enlightenment. Do it with such intensity that your internal dialogue shuts up. Then merge with your real nature. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Schahin's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Schahin By realization i mean when the truth has been revealed. It happens when all identification with the body/mind disapears. I'm saying you are using the wrong tool. The mind is simply not the right tool to figure out existential dilemmas. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Highest's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@now is forever Being an "I", the feeling as well as the belief. You know what i mean -
FoxFoxFox replied to Schahin's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
No amount of theorizing and thinking is gonna give you the correct answer. But when you realize, the questions disappear. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Highest's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Highest While a good description, liberation is a total loss of "I-ness". -
FoxFoxFox replied to SQAAD's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@SQAAD Take care of your own realization. Let the world take care of itself. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Tearos's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Tearos If you expect answers in words, then no. The truth of the Self which is the object of the "search" on this forum is universal though. -
FoxFoxFox replied to mandyjw's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Eckhart is great BUT just going about your daily life and try to be "in the now" won't cut it for enlightenment. After all, that's not even how Eckhart itself got realized. You need much more dedication and intense focus than that,. -

Your spiritual practices, no matter what they are, must result in the realization that there is no "you" behind "your" eyes. If you keep believing you are the ego and the body, and feed them non-duality concepts and theories, you'll eventually come to the realization that life is pointless and meaningless. If you hold such a belief for long enough, you'll be depressed/suicidal. That would be missing the point entirely. So follow these steps: Calm the fuck down. Take a few deep breaths. Focus on anything but your mind to take the energy away from your head. Calm down the mind with any method that works best for you. There are thousands of methods. Become aware of the fact that you are aware, and explore that experience. Whenever ANY thoughts arise that try to explain your experience, shut them down. Don't even entertain concepts. Don't ask yourself questions, don't look for answers. Just explore. Don't expect realization to come in words. ABOVE ALL ELSE, don't believe in your own nonesense about how life is meaningless, or pointless. That is still a concept. That concept is what is pointless.

FoxFoxFox replied to Aeris's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Aeris Become aware that there is not actually someone who chooses. That's liberation. That's why choice is a total illusion. Your example is only a play with the concepts of probability and uncertainty, which themselves are inaccurate representations of the real thing. -
FoxFoxFox replied to yangmilun's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Timeless - Consciousness. Turn awareness on awareness. Become free of Karma. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Seththomas's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Seththomas Attempts at objectifying consciousness will invariably miss the mark. It just can't be done. Consciousness is synonymous with God, the Self, Shiva, Allah etc. and who can truly say they can describe what God is with words? The way to know consciousness is to be consciousness. Of course, being consciousness already, you can't help but to know it. The problem is that we then try to objectify God and that leads to all sorts of misconceptions. We then go and write books about to perpetuate the ignorance. There is really no such thing as high or low consciousness. Consciousness does not have intrinsic qualities. It is the emptiness that allows everything to flow within it, like how the ocean allows for fish. What is called "high" consciousness is just the Self with less and less concepts covering it. If you are interested in knowing consciousness, stop trapping it with your logic and concepts. Allow it to flourish of its own accord. That is the only real knowledge. -
FoxFoxFox replied to kieranperez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@kieranperez Ah Akashic records... It's a fascinating thing isn't it? I have some insight about this. Not exactly easy or even comfortable to share them though. It all depends. How long can you stay as pure awareness? -
FoxFoxFox replied to Cameron's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@yangmilun Being comes first. Ego appears within being. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Aakash's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Preetom This is good insight. The difficulty in following this technique is to not allow the mind to want to objectify the 'I' as an object. Keep awareness on awareness and you gain clarity. Bring your assumptions in this new light and the falsehood will burn away. What remains is your true self. -
Thoughts occur within the same space of awareness as 'material' objects.

FoxFoxFox replied to Cameron's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Cameron You assume that the "enlightened persons" act with personal intention, but that is not the case. "God acting through the enlightened person" is a better explanation although even that falls short of the truth still. Also, life being meaningless is just an assumption. It is not true.
