FoxFoxFox replied to winterknight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@winterknight What is your experience with the heart center and light? Do you agree with Bhagavan's statement that the real heart is felt on the right side of the chest? In general what can you teach us about the heart area? From what I understand, body-identification is anchored at the center of the chest a finger above the sternum. The heart (organ) is felt on the left, while on the right side there is a vast, spaciousness. Does your own direct experience involve being filled with white or blue "lights"? -
FoxFoxFox replied to Anirban657's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Anirban657 You know, in the end, it really doesn't matter what you believe in. If you can just blindly accept that you are not the body, that would work just as well as if you had a proper logical answer. Ultimately, you must have faith, and surrender. Only then will you have direct experience of the fact that you are not limited to the body. To put it differently, not being the body is not a matter of a belief. Being the body is. -

@Mu_ What is your experience with the heart center (Chakra)? How would you describe the sensations/experience there? -

I'm not sure how he can be enlightened and still say many of the stuff that he says in that video. -

I personally know of Craig Holiday (US), Jan Esmann (Denmark/Lithuania) and Anandi Ma (Everywhere?). -
FoxFoxFox replied to Chumbimba's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Chumbimba What you mentioned is definitely Kundalini, but not a fully activated one. However the symptoms you mentioned are beyond simple Kundalini arousal, so you might want to consider getting in touch with a qualified Kundalini master. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Anton_Pierre's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Anton_Pierre I'm fairly certain Jesus actually turned water into wine, no illusions. That being said, Jesus could not have been aware of existence as Jesus. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Aaron p's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Aaron p It's only recommended to some beginners and only for a short while. Don't get stuck in it for 30 years like some. It is not really necessary if you do self-inquiry properly. That is the most effective way of silencing the mind because it reveals the mind's true nature simultaneously with bringing out the self in plain sight. -
FoxFoxFox replied to theking00's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@theking00 They are both the same thing, which is nonexistent. God is the supreme being. But only the being aspect is founded on some truth. Supreme is just an idea. The devil is just death personified. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Cody_Atzori's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Cody_Atzori When you are asleep, there is no mind, yet your existence continues. When the brain dies, the body and the world dies also, but your existence continues. That you say "I am the brain" is just a thought you have chosen to accept. You actually have far less proof for this belief. How do you really know that you are the brain? You only know this because others have told you so. Regardless, the brain is scientifically said to be the controller of the body, however we are not concerned with the body or the brain here. We are concerned with the substratum of your existence which remains whether or not you know about the brain and the mind. Everybody knows who they are. If I ask you who you are, it is immediately obvious to you that there is in fact a someone who you are, but you don't know who it is because you choose to approach the question with an outward oriented mind, which seeks answers in form of objects. Instead of doing that, turn the mind inwards and find its source. The answer is self-evident. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Pouya's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Pouya Awareness is a quality or mode of the mind. The Self, your real being is prior to mind or awareness. It is unbroken. The mind is aware of the world in the sense that it creates it through the senses, but we are not really concerned with the mind here. As yourself who you are and trace that back to its source. Once the mind subsides the truth is self-evident. It doesn't matter how the truth looks like, it is self-evident. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Pouya's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Pouya Who is having this problem? In deep sleep these issues don't arise. So who is it that is having these doubts while awake? -
FoxFoxFox replied to kieranperez's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@kieranperez It certainly can, and hey, suffering is a potent catalyst for self-realization. -

Who is the one who is experiencing the fear? Stay as that and allow the fear to pass through unobstructed. Repeated encounters will make it easier to face the fear and they will eventually resolve themselves. Clarity of mind when facing fears is the best tool for dealing with fears because a clear mind will not allow fears to take different shapes and forms, as might be the case with psychedelics. Actually, psychedelics (for the average person) is probably the worst tool for dealing with fear specifically. This is for the most part doubt masquerading as fear. Well considering that you don't even understand what enlightenment is or what it's all about, how do you know that it's not going to have concrete results? There are so called results of doing proper spiritual practice, but they are not anything you can imagine. Think of yourself as a explorer going to discover new lands. You know there is going to be discovery for sure, but you have no idea what that discovery is going to be like, and you never will until you actually get there. This doubt is therefore pointless, and non-conducive to the effort. -
FoxFoxFox replied to EternalForest's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@EternalForest It's possible to provide analogies, for example your real nature is like a screen on which life plays out. However that is only theory so long as you are not self-realized. Only when you are you will find the truth of the analogy. -
Mr. P. Brunton, while reading Upadesa Manjari, came across the statement that the ego, the world and God are all unreal. He desired to use a different word for God or at least a qualifying adjective, e.g., the Creative Force or personal God. Sri Bhagavan explained that God means SAMASHTI - i.e., all that is, plus the Be-ing - in the same way as ‘I’ means the individual plus the Be-ing, and the world means the variety plus Be-ing. The Be-ing is in all cases real. The all, the variety and the individual is in each case unreal. So also in the union of the real and the unreal, the mixing up or the false identifcation is wrong. It amounts to saying sad-asadvilakshana, i.e., transcending the real and the unreal - sat and asat. Reality is that which transcends all concepts, including that of God. Inasmuch as the name of God is used, it cannot be true. The Hebrew word Jehovah = (I am) expresses God correctly. Absolute Be-ing is beyond expression.

@EternalForest Through direct experience. Realizing the Self is the only real way to know this. Answers in words will not convince you. -

FoxFoxFox replied to Arhattobe's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
There is another way to put it too. Ignorance is the quality of ignoring. Like how we ignore the Self in favor of the mind's stories. -
FoxFoxFox replied to winterknight's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Preetom Considering how you already are the Self, only remove ignorance. Ignorance is only a major distraction, it's the mind's illusion of controlling life. When you ask "who am I?" in Self-inquiry, the mind becomes one-pointed and begins going through all its usual answers (I am the body, etc etc). With Winterknight's caveat of disregarding answers that are in the form of objects, it should quickly dawn on you that there isn't actually an "I" who is the doer. In reality, that "I" is just the product of the mind's inferring from reality. You've heard the analogy of the Self as light or as a 'screen' before, I'm sure. Well if you investigate that analogy and see what it's actually pointing to that should work. When you are asleep, your existence continues without the mind, the body or the "I" and you are in peace. When you wake up, the "I" appears and you suffer. But your existence is unbroken. What remains in sleep is Self only, directly experiencing void. -
FoxFoxFox replied to EternalForest's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@EternalForest You cannot really die. What dies is the body. What happens to you when you go to sleep? That is short death. When the body dies that is a longer death. Its up to you to decide waking up again. -

@Anton_Pierre The Yoga, if done correctly, will result in the so called non-dual state. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Swagala's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Sounds about right. The "I" who you think you are has no control over the course of life. It's all just false beliefs the mind interprets from the Self. -
FoxFoxFox replied to Jkris's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Jkris Breath control works best if you are hellbent on stilling the mind. Although I would suggest inquiring into the nature of the mind and allowing it to dissolve itself. The mind is just a bundle of thoughts. It has no foundation without thoughts. When you realize that, you can witness the thoughts without being engaged by them. Pulling out energy from them like so will automatically lead to the thoughts slowing down and fading out. Even the thought, "I am a witness to thoughts" must go similarly. -
