I want to pursue dermatology in India. I am currently studying for its entrance exam. I have just discovered that my domain of mastery would be philosophy.(18/5/20) Now my problem is should I continue to pursue dermatology or should I pursue philosophy at all cost? Pursuing philosophy means I am following my bliss ( Joseph Campbell). Pursuing dermatology means I am first satisfying Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I don't know my stage in Spiral Dynamics. I might be yellow. So help me please. What should be my path?

@Average Investor Thanks man. I think ultimate result of studying philosophy is enlightenment. As an Indian , I have a very rich tradition of philosophers who were enlightened. I think I should strive to become like them also. What do you think?

@Average Investor Yes, you are right. I should start studying philosophy soon but I think my parents won't allow me to do that. After thinking on this, my plan is to get dermatology branch and after that, I will fully devote to philosophy. Although I have to suffer not studying philosophy for 2-3 years but after that period is over, I can go full throttle on philosophy.

Hi, I also want to be godlike writer but in philosophy domain. My advice to you would be read, read and read. By reading a lot about ego, you will get your own insights which can be used in your book. Hope this helps.

My life purpose: I want to become master like Nietzsche ot Kant in Philosophy so that by reading masterful books by me , people will transcend themselves and their consciousness will increase. Deepest passion : thinking, analysing, need to become great

@lacsativ Thank you for the book recommendation. I have done Presence Process meditation. It's 10 week meditation but demands a lot from you. I highly recommend this. Coming to superhuman as a value, I meant that I want to become a master like Nietzsche or Kant. Becoming superhuman (Ken Wilber's concept) is a very terrifying concept for me. I don't know I could do that or become one I have watched several videos of Win Hoff. He is an inspiration. He sends a very different vibe according to me. Watching him makes me blissful. Answers to 3 questions of zone of genius are 1) analysing, thinking 2) questioning, going deep 3) generating insights I love creating arguments, counterarguments , discussing ,debating , analysing ..that's why I chose philosophy as a domain of mastery.

Yesterday I wrote about my purpose here. I realised that philosophy is just a domain. That means my domain of mastery is philosophy. What I forgot to add is my real purpose which is as follows: Raise consciousness of people, help to transcend themselves. What I mean by this is to show them another perception of reality, show them deeper aspect of things. My writing would strike the chord in heart and make people transcend themselves. Question is how do I increase consciousness of people and help them to transcend themselves?

@rlc I just watched that video. To be honest , I am unimpressed. My top most value is to become a superhuman, of whom no one can break records, my work as perennial in nature. Becoming sage, doing meditation feels nauseating to me . Maybe I am on different colour of spiral dynamics.

@rlc I have gone through the course 2-3 times. I am iterating my purpose by trial and error. I have done filmmaking, screenwriting, start-up, coding etc. Now I have found that philosophy fits perfectly and I am very happy about it. Problem is that I don't have experience regarding philosophy. I am trying to learn it by myself.

@Verg0 Thank you for the answer. After contemplating what you've said, I gained some insights. 1) I am not passionate about mediation, journaling etc. 2) Self inquiry looks good . I can do that. 3) I want to inspire awe in people. By doing that , they will get transcended. 4) the achievements of other human beings inspire awe in me. Specifically intellectual achievements.
