@Gabith What happened to the guy making videos about social challenges? He was insecure but he seemed optimistic. If you still live with your parents, have them pay for you to go to therapy. Being nihilistic and mean to strangers on the internet is not getting you anywhere. It's childish. Find a good therapist. I know you live in Belgium, I'm happy to recommend you something good. Wish you the best! -
@Sabth If you let that stop you (that it might be embarrassing), you'll never get anything you want in life. Life is hard. Getting what you want is hard. It might involve being embarrassed. Do you understand the point I'm making?

Okay, then why are you not walking into every retail store you can find asking for work? John D. Rockefeller asked every company in his city for work SIX TIMES. They said no and he went back to all of them six times until someone hired him. After that he became the richest man in his time. It's because the mindset, you see?

Making money is hard. Life is hard. Welcome to the world. I suggest you zoom out and consider every possibility for what you could do with your life. Your best life! And then really accept the fact that it's HARD. You will have to do hard things to go wherever you want to go. So choose a direction that is worth doing hard things for.
-
You do understand that if you react to everything by thinking "I couldn't do that because X", you'll never make any money right? So choose an option and overcome the obstacle. It's called mindset. Choose what you want and resolve to destroy every obstacle, any reason it couldn't work. Eliminate it. Refuse to believe you can't, because you can. But you have to start DOING. I just turned this into a cliche motivational speech I realise, but that's what you need apparently.

@Sabth You have a driver's license. How about delivering packages or food or being a taxi driver? If you're stuck thinking: no jobs for which you don't need education seem that fun, then yes, that's why people get education. Perhaps better to stay in architecture school, if you were on a good track with that?

@Average Investor Healing is better than controlling it your whole life. If you have the time and the money, you can consider doing primal therapy. There aren't many bipolar specific success stories, but if you read The New Primal Scream, it does have a good overarching theory of all psychological and psychiatric problems, how they come to be and what can be done to undo the damage. Basically it points at the repression of childhood and infanthood trauma as the cause for mental dysfunction. All neurosis is side effects of defending against early pain that is still buried, Janov states. There's been a lot of success with depression, anxiety, emotional outbursts, panic attacks and even psychosis. Of course that was in the 70s and nobody on the internet is aware of that anymore. But the people who got fully healed lived a long happy life and some became therapists themselves. I have felt a lot better since I first tried primal therapy, and I'm going back for more with a Janov-trained one in early 2024. Because primal therapy has been so widely misunderstood and there's more lies than truth about it on the internet (it has nothing to do with screaming lol), it's better to just read a book by Arthur Janov and you might find you understand your own psychology a lot better.

I'm hypersensitive to caffeine. Which is a shame because I used to drink it by the bucket and enjoy it. No more of that, it became a source of chronic stress. In your 20s you can just burn out your adrenals like that without worry. At some point it just doesn't work like that anymore.
-
Bottom line: there's better things on the market with less side effects, if you know where to look. I just drank caffeine for 4 or 5 days after a long hiatus, and stopped again. A very small amount too, like one drink a day. And now 2 days after stopping again, I feel hung over and sleep deprived. This is why I don't do that shit. Guess I needed another reminder.

@Something Funny I have it in a spray bottle and I try to spray it mostly under my hair, onto the scalp. Then I leave it in for a few minutes while I brush my teeth, then shower and rinse everything off. Hair's perfect after that.
-
Sounds like anxiety attacks. Could they have something to do with the difficult life issues?
-
@Something Funny The first one.

@mr_engineer That's honestly really cool. It's not easy to figure out how to sell people something that's actually good for them. But once you crack it... you're set for a satisfying LP endeavour.

1 part apple cider vinegar with 4 parts water. I was skeptical but it works. It's all I use, I don't wash my hair with shampoo at all anymore.

No, you're not missing out on something. With regular caffeine drinkers, they can't feel like their normal upbeat motivated selves without it. So without caffeine they're at 30% happiness, motivation and focus let's say. Then they drink it, and they get up to 80%. Wow, coffee's so great! Too bad my whole body is tense, my heart is racing, my skin is bad and I don't wake up well rested. But hey, worth it! But you... you're cruising at 100% while those poor coffee addicts are dosing and re-dosing all day to even approach 80%. It's pathetic and the blogs you read about the "nootropic benefits of coffee" are all just drug addicts being vocal rationalising their addiction. It's like Hare Krishna's or Jehovah's Witnesses knocking on your door, or singing in the street all day about how their religion saved them and how you should also try it. Meanwhile I'm standing here, I'm fine, I don't need to be saved and certainly am not willing to give up 80% of my life's comforts for it. Heroin also has many benefits for mood, and if you take it regularly, you'll really notice a day without it. You feel much worse. Doesn't make it a good idea to start. Now why is this so..? I've experimented with and researched a lot of supplements and nootropics (and a few drugs), and they roughly fall into two categories: Brain manipulators Brain foods Brain manipulators forcibly change your system to produce more of a certain neurotransmitter, or inhibit its reuptake. Whether it's noradrenaline, dopamine, acetylcholine, serotonine, there's suddenly more of it available and it was not your body's own idea. It got tricked into it by substances mimicking endogenous molecules. Caffeine, ritalin, adderall and racetams all fall into that category. Here's the drawbacks of brain manipulators: Because the boost in chemicals is not your body's own idea, it will start to compensate for it by lowering your baseline. Which means you only feel okay if you take it. Pretty soon you're just as dependent as the heroin addict you see on a park bench, just to feel "yourself again". It just looks and smells more acceptable. Because the boost is not your body's own idea, it also doesn't know how to turn it off smoothly. You'll sleep worse. It feels fake and distorts your personality. Now what do I mean by brain foods? There's substances that are found in food, and/or naturally produced in the body, that are used as precursors to make those coveted brain hormones out of. If you eat more of those, your brain certainly has enough to make all the dopamine or noradrenaline or acetylcholine it wants, but it still is going to be regulated by a natural process. Production will go up until a certain natural maximum, simply because there is plenty of precursor. Similar to how Heisenberg will keep cooking if Jesse keeps finding enough pseudo. But he's not cooking at gunpoint. He's not dealing with rigged lab equipment that can't be turned off so he has to keep making more. He's still going to go home and get a good night's sleep. Here's some examples of brain foods that I have found to work well and boost my productivity without creating addiction, dependence or lower sleep quality: DMAE - found in fish and in the human body, supplementing with it boosts focus naturally and also improves the skin. It's excellent, really gives me a calm flowy focus. Also a great ADHD remedy Alpha-GPC - a form of choline that crosses the blood-brain barrier so that acetylcholine can be made out of it. Noticable increase in speed of typing and thinking. L-Phenylalanine (or DLPA) - essential amino acid, supplementing with it on an empty stomach helps produce noradrenaline and dopamine and also phenylethylamine, a low level of which causes adhd. Gets my brain into gear in the morning. The best advice I could give you is to read widely on nootropics and how they work - and be aware that if they 'trick' your system, they create dependence and lower your baseline. Also, if some substance is too close in the chemical processing chain to the neurotransmitter you want to optimize, for example L-Dopa, that will also lower your baseline and give you problems. Generally, the more indirect and the less manipulative and more foodlike it works, the better.

Love the mission! I'm behind it 100%. Wish you the best! How are you implementing this? Couldn't agree more. Sometimes it's really fun and feels like play, but if you treat it as that too much, you're not going to hit your goals.

It helps but you don't need it. It's definitely not a primary factor in your ability to spread your message. Fame is. Anyone who consistently puts out quality information that people are interested in, can build a large following. It can take a long time, but it works with or without a PhD.
-
@Ramanujan Ok now I think you're definitely trolling Well played sir.
-
I thought it was super boring and cheesy and couldn't get through it. But my girlfriend seems to love it and so does Aubrey Marcus. So... I guess I'm the anomaly.
-
If you have to think about it, then that's not it. Would you be happy if she was pregnant? If not, this is not the girl to commit to.
-
Yes, it does. It's a stupid kind of credibility though, which works on people who like to appeal to authority instead of think for themselves. But it does help make you credible to the mainstream, just like a white coat can make people believe anyone is a competent medical professional.
-
@Ramanujan You're right, my bad. I suppose we should ignore biodynamic farming and other world changing inventions because he was interested in the spirit world. And clearly that means that he sacrificed children. I have nothing to say to such idiocy and ignorance. Shame on you.

Of course they do. And if they are orphaned, they grow up with difficulty understanding how to socially interact, but they can learn.
-
We're just chimps with iPhones Which I'm actually quite okay with. Chimps can be very loving and sweet! But they do have a social hierarchy, and the lowest in the hierarchy don't get to have sex. If someone wants to move up in the hierarchy, they have to form friendships with others who are well connected to the top, and do valuable things like patrol and fight competing chimp tribes. Some chimps have a rough childhood and they don't understand the social rules that well because of it. They have trouble making friends. Those chimps have to learn to get accepted and form friendships with other males, to strengthen their position. If they don't do that and still try to get laid, or show off their physical strength, they will be beaten severely. All we get for that today is a disgusted look from women and sometimes being ignored, I say we're pretty well-off

Because that doesn't feel like a 'win' for a woman. For a woman, sex only feels like a 'win' if it is with someone who displayed enough of some personality trait that it tickles her ape brain and makes her feel like he would be a high-ranking or at least well-connected and valued member of his tribe. (It's a myth that one has to be an 'alpha male', but one can't display obvious loser characteristics, which unfortunately coalesce with childhood trauma symptoms, but that's another story) This could be as simple as being confident and chill (because low-ranking males would have people-pleasing tendencies, they have to modify themselves to be accepted and if they were too confident, they would get challenged), but also it could be just by displaying social intelligence. Social intelligence ("getting it") is a signal that she's not going home with a loser, because he understands how to position himself and make alliances with others in a tribe because of his social intelligence. Which means that if she had a child with him, it wouldn't get killed by other males and she would get provided for. Watch "Chimp Empire" on Netflix and you will understand @Hardkill And so asking many women "Do you want to have sex" right off the bat displays low social intelligence, because if you do that in a tribe, you'd quickly be beaten or outcast for being a sociopath. That's why it doesn't work well. It's because if a woman hears that, she feels instantly humiliated and offended, like she would be demoted to the lowest social status if she took an offer like that. Because a guy who is that socially inept, is also likely to not be successful in other areas of life, that is true today as much as it was when we were primitive tribesmen. Sometimes it will still work if a woman is lonely or needy enough, but she won't feel good about that choice and will likely want to erase it and you from her mind. Just telling that story would lower her status. If you have other qualities or a reputation that would give you a high value, you can compensate with that and still make the strategy you described work. If you're in the band that she's a fan of, or her friends already look up to you for some reason and your reputation precedes you, that changes things.
