"all of the molecules follow simple Newtonian physics" Is this not falsified by quantum mechanics? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_brain_dynamics I mean surely you've seen the double slit experiment, and the basics of measurement. If you're going to bring it down to the level of molecules, it's inaccurate to say they all follow simple Newtonian physics. (as far as I can tell) -
I definitely don't want to come out and attack you, but if you could help me with any of my delusions I post, or anyone can, I will love you forever. So my first thing if you could address is that in Leo's most recent videos he talks a lot about true masters being humble. Out of anyone I've seen on these forums, you certainly come off as believing yourself to be enlightened or masterful, animals bow before you etc. I guess what I'm trying to say is that brining up the fact that "An awakened human being is many many many magnitudes superior in any area of life. Even in physical strength. " on a thread that isn't even discussing that comes off as quite the opposite of humble. I mean the one area you specifically mention is physical strength. Why not mention how much easier it is to help and love people? Instead you chose to say that awakened people are physically stronger? What's the intention with that statement. Earlier in this post, you said it seemed like a blue elaboration. I was confused by this because even though it didn't seem like an accurate description of what happened, it didn't specifically convey to me and specific blue traits of absolute right and wrong etc. So if you could be very specific in why you diagnosed him as blue, or this description as blue, and not say red or orange. I know you were asked already and kind of skirted the question jokingly, but I would really really appreciate clearing up my delusion. What I interpret as a lack of humbleness follows many of your posts, for example. This is just a comment "Leo is on his own path, he will get there sooner or later" I guess this is kind of the attitude I interpret often, like you reached the finish line and came here to be a hot shot while you watch other people try and grow. But that can totally be a projection of what I do when I finish a project early. Finally, you accused the dude with a featured 77 pages of comments as a potential fraud. Do you think Leo would keep that thread open if he was fucking with people, and not an enlightened mastered trying to "Help Sincere Seekers"? "@winterknight Put a photo of yours, or you are just a copy from a copy regurgitating copies. I don't see uniqueness and originality." It also comes off like you already made the judgement " I don't see uniqueness and originality" Again, I'm really not here to fight anyone, I just wanted to address how you come off to me, and why I might be super super deluded

As "woo woo" as a lot of these more ritualistic spiritual practices come of to me, I really appreciate that you treat them as non-imperative tools that don't have to make sense, if they work. Where I usually get turned off is when the tools become what is actually conjuring god, and it no longer becomes about exploring your own experience but following a list of instructions to summon whatever. I might even try some of your recommendations, I probably lean too heavily towards science and modeling

Maybe you just got the wrong impression of Leo, at least take one second look. Also, if you are asking me to answer your questions, could you answer your own as well? My answers for fairness, even though I'm not going to pretend like I know Leo what is his intent? His intent is to carry out his agenda. What is his agenda? Raise the conscious awareness of as many people to the highest degree possible to create a maximally functioning/fulfilling society while having a good fucking time Why does he releases videos every Sunday? I don't know where you are going with this one but I'd assume that this schedule works best for him. He probably works M-F and allocates a couple of hours on his weekends to get out a video. Anyways, if you get the chance, i'd love to see the answers to your own questions. Peace -
It would be unfortunate though if for whatever reason loving others made you happier than you ever could have hoped to be focusing solely on yourself. I'm not going to say this is the case for you, but maybe give it a shot, you have many many years to try different approaches

My advice would be to stop assuming, i received what must have been just a whiff of the ox last night and going into that I had 0 expectations or ideas about non-duality. If you haven't had the experience, and it's not something that can be fully described with words, then you can see how people who haven't had the experience and use words to theorize about it are really really really prone to getting false expectations about what non-duality is the experience. I think these false expectations can create barriers and cause you to look and look in one corner of your mind you've convinced yourself must house god. This may or may not be the case, I'm no Zen master, but there is certainly some probability it's true and it seems reasonable to me from my experience. With that in mind, I really recommend you just follow whatever daily meditation you do and continue to develop yourself until you can tell us from experience what this Ox symbolizes and whether some being arises, good luck! -
I'm not going to convince you not to hate your roommate or other stage green people. If you enjoying hating people, I'm not here to stop you. People have different upbringings, loveless lives, etc. I agree stage green can come off as a bit aggressive towards ideas they deem offensive, but I think there's a better solution for YOU in specific than hating them

"Basically what any human can do today with internet access, an AI can do, better, faster, and smarter." If you manage to source this, i'll go to bed an astonished young man. Hope you got around to finding some mushrooms, they are magical -

I obviously don't understand non-duality and consciousness well enough, that's why I left it up to the reader to believe what they are going to believe. That being said, I will argue that if AI is conscious and aware, so are all the other characters you've played. As far as your comment on AI solving global warming, and wanting to kill all humans to do so, just because the computer says to do it does not mean you do it. Obviously we will have people who check the outputs of these systems instead of letting them carry out any actions. The smartest most unpredictable non-linear AI is probably not going to have actual control over anything important, just the ability to print out an answer -
If you have video lectures, please link me or a course home page. I'd like to see the approach you take if you don't mind

Thank you for being the local expect, I guess you subtly made a point that I missed. While it seems strange to me to be afraid of AI that we create to benefit humanity, certainly someone could use the intelligence of AI to be intentionally malevolent -
zambize replied to tashawoodfall's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I don't agree with the statement that because both a human system and a computer work on voltages, that they will both experience consciousness. That being said, I know very little on the subject of AI being conscious, as does probably everybody because it doesn't appear to be a thing at the moment. I actually work in a quantum computing lab, and I can tell you it's a bit oversold for funding and public hype, that will be a long ways away -

Mario thinks that getting princess peach will make him happy though...seems pretty deluded. I get where you are attacking the argument of the simple linearly programmed python AI, that being said, that argument was to point out the nature of electronics, as electrons on metal. That does not change in whatever language or linear vs. non-linear. Things are still computed at some point. -
I think they gave you some good advice, but maybe I can add something to your understanding. So I actually just graduated from college, and it's apparent that Madison seems primarily green. But for sake of discussion, let's not assume spiral dynamics works at all. My college focused a lot on multiculturalism and the idea that everyone is equally developed across the world in their own way. In fact they were really focused because you had to take at least a course which fed very low quality research about how the globe was one big equal happy family. While spiral dynamics seems to have a lot of truth to it, it forces you to realize that each country isn't at the same development. Some have had advantages, and thus have created seemingly more stable and happy populations and hierarchies. Each country can be put somewhere unique on this spiral, and that opposes everything universities have been pushing. To wrap up my ideas, spiral dynamics conflicts with many of the hard beliefs that universities hold, objection to what the universities deem as true can often be met with a lot of criticism, look at Jordan Peterson. Additionally, for universities to adopt this model, they would have to contradict a lot of the "research" done, and admit that they were only stage green. If universities admitted they were stage green, and that stage yellow existed, most people would say fuck the university system and seek out these higher quality teachers. Which often live in the university system so don't let me too oversimplify the issue. Are there any good websites that I could find examples of people in different stages? Go through the first few pages of the forums and you'll see all kinds of "Stage turqoise mega threads". These have a lot about the stage, examples, teachers, everything. Best of luck on your journey

I think more likely than Orange stealing Yellow's ideas, it's primarily the fact that Orange is concerned about making money. Orange is defined by materialism and achievement. Those values are perfectly capable of creating a profitable business, in fact they are all you need to create a profitable business. Unlike Orange, yellow is concerned more with sustainability and the impact their products will have on humanity as a whole. What I'm trying to say is Orange is just looking to get rich and seek achievement through materialism, yellow has added hurdles when it comes to maximizing wealth because they aren't trying to maximize wealth. The exploitation is simply taking advantage of the fact that orange doesn't have to care about other people, when yellow is certainly smart enough to think of these tactics, they have more big picture goals than selling a product that breaks in a week

I'll give you a shortened version of a mess I typed up earlier, AI is run from a computer program. These computer programs consist of commands specific to the language, I usually see AI written in python. While there are a lot of instructions that a computer receives, they are just instructions. To be specific on what I mean by instruction, I mean they are pulling stored bits out of register files and putting those bits into some kind of circuit depending on the operation. My point is just because AI gets really fucking smart, they are still defined by the presence or absence of electrons on a capacitor. If you believe they are self-aware, then you can use the same logic to determine that Mario is very real and self-aware. As a Mario player, my life depends on believing I am not killing an Italian plumber repeatedly, and instead am seeing a complex system of circuits and pipelines working in the way they were specified to work in. -

Hmmmm I'm not really sure what you define as smoothness of concentration, maybe this is more along the lines of ease of locking onto something in your awareness, or ease of holding that thing in your concentration, but I don't know exactly what you mean by smoothness. In terms of it being more difficult to concentrate on external things vs. internal. well that should make sense. I'm used to focusing on video games and asses and what not, what's hard is focusing on your pain and emotions. Of course you can focus on your school work and external stuff, I mean you've been doing that all your life. How much of your life have you spent asking what suffering is? What love is? How deep can love be felt? How broad? What am I aware? What could I be aware of? These questions are much more difficult because you have to train your concentration and think in ways you've never thought before. That's hard, very simple, but difficult. I'd be really impressed if you could ask these kinds of emotions and probe your inner world well enough while focusing on being a moving human being out on a walk, that being said I don't use walking meditation (regularly) so I'm a local know nothing in that regard. Real talk would get on the daily meditation hype train, even 20-30 minutes, but I'm sure you've heard that all before, so if you don't intend on doing that or can't, maybe every night try and get into as deep of a meditation as/while you fall asleep. Every minute counts, and at least that's something daily that over the long run could really make a difference. Hope anything helped! -

Hahaha no worries about your ideas being everywhere. So yes, AI will likely expand in exponential ways, much like Moore's law for computing. Which is some exponential relationship between time and number of transistors on a chip. I would predict that AI to some degree fits this curve. That being said, there is this notion of AI going off on its own, and doing things we don't want it to. Traditionally this has been people believing that there will be some kind of AI that decides the world is better off without humanity, and that if it just nukes the fuck out of them, all will be well. However there are so many assumptions in this as well. First of all, this would only happen with the strongest most advanced forms of AI, right? I mean AI isn't too sophisticated right now such that it won't "turn on" or have a "mind of its own" in a sense. But what you're saying is that maybe at some point, it will become intelligent enough that we won't be able to comprehend it's motives. State of the art AI like this, still has to be developed and tested by the most intelligent minds within the field of AI at government facilities, universities, or large corporations. No one else has enough funding. My point is that people who understand the limitations and dangers of AI the most, are the people working on it. It's my assumption that if there were even a chance of this AI developing it's own motives that go against humans in any way, that this would be addressed in the design and implementation of the AI. Another key point is that just because something is intelligent does not give it power. You could hate me all you want, but unless you could like curb stomp me, that hatred would just be your hatred and you would have no control over carrying out that impulse. In the same way, we could have AI that believes it would be a good idea to nuke Russia, but we aren't going to give it the control over nuclear systems to actually fire the rockets. That would be insane. I mean maybe one day AI does operate a lot of core parts of society and even war, but that will be when we have the limits of AI fleshed out and don't have to play a guessing game of whether or not AI will develop it's own motives. In summary, AI can tell you what to do, maybe better than your best self-help gurus at some point. But we can still limit the amount of control that AI has over the decisions it makes, or just give it zero control outside of printing yes or no, that's up to us -

Maybe, but maybe your ego wants to justify the handwork and effort you've put into becoming enlightened instead of admitting that you were wasting your time and chasing something outside of the moment all along. I'm not sure though -

Society is dynamic, we adapt to change, or at least try to. Netflix killed Blockbuster. It's not like Netflix is evil, or that Netflix robbed Blockbuster employees of their jobs, Netflix simply predicted the market better than Blockbuster and was an improvement. If AI is widely used and replaces a lot of these minimum wage jobs, it's not like these people aren't going to adapt and look for another job, or increase their skill sets, in the same way that it's not like there are a bunch of homeless jobless Blockbuster employees walking around outside since 2013. As AI becomes more and more relevant, it's people's own responsibility to ask themselves the long-term legitimacy of their career, not people's responsibility to reign in AI and the good it can do because people thought they could be a Walmart cashier in an age where self-checkout is becoming more and more apparent. So you're right, people will lose their jobs, but it's the responsibility of those people to be educated and have the relevant skills to benefit society enough to get paid what they need to get paid to survive. Think of how many jobs/slave jobs the cotton gin got rid of, that's not a bad thing, that's why you can wear a sweater so cheaply. AI will bring it's own benefits, from surface level happiness to saving lives. I think there is this endemic fear of AI, and it's mostly perpetuated by people who let their mind fly a lot and don't fully understand the economy or AI. Not that people need to be an expert to have an opinion, because i'm certainly not, I just hope I convinced someone at least a bit that AI might not be something we need to fear, but should be aware of its effects -

What happens when you try to increase your awareness of whatever is uncomfortable, or however you feel detached. Uncomfortable in what way, a stinging pain, emotional knots in your abdomen, dull vibrating headache? I think part of the problem is that you don't know the problem. What don't you like about this uncomfortable pain? What don't you like about being detached? Exactly how are you uncomfortable? Where does the pain arise from and where does it go? In summary, my advice would be to flesh out EXACTLY how you feel, and typically it seems to me that the more your resolve some pain you are feeling, the more you understand it, it will either disappear or transform into an experience that you see as positive. As far as where this is coming from, it could be ego-backlash. Maybe it's some insecurity. I honestly don't know, and I would be skeptical of anyone that told you they knew exactly where these issues were coming from, that's for you to find out. Anyways, wish you the best of luck -

Could you be really specific in talking about about how we won't be able to control AI and any of the effects of that you expect to see? -
Hey I suck at accepting the moment too the majority of the time, but I have gotten better, best of luck in your journey and don't worry about resisting things and blaming others. We all do the exact same thing. For example, I play league of legends and it's usually right after I die or do something really stupid that I choose to take it out on whoever is doing the worst. I got my issues, you got your issues, that's all perfectly acceptable and expected. Have a good time reducing your suffering, don't worry about what issues you have, but be conscious of them and if you want to, fix them. Could try that out for a few weeks and let us know how that went
