  1. I have nothing against Mooji and I don't know about the article, but the videos are pretty cultish. The guy sitting up there and his followers kissing his feet and crying. Can you see this kind of behaviour in other spirituality-related videos? Like in Rupert Spira's? I mean, come on...
  2. I think a healthy self-esteem is necessary for deeper enlightenment work. It can't really be bypassed.
  3. Y'all got triggered by this guy pretty hard. I mean, I sort of agree with you because I feel like I fell into the same spiritual bypass trap and the realization of this just came to me recently. If he wants to go for enlightenment straight away without experiencing other things life has to offer, then so be it. I don't think you should convince him otherwise. After all, it's his funeral. On the other hand,@How to be wise shouldn't try to convince other people to just let go of everything and go for enlightenment. Everybody is in different phase on his/her path and everybody has different needs. The path has many aspects as you probably know (Maslow's pyramid is a great example for this).
  4. Yup, the same here. During my Kriya practise, I get tingling sensations on my forehead and also short headaches (for 2-3 seconds).
  5. This is my first week of Kriya and my current practise is Nadi Shodhana, Ujjayi Pranayama and 20 minutes of concentration (just like the book suggested). Thing is, at the moment I'm having a hard time focusing/looking at the 3rd eye but I can definitely feel some tingling on that area. Does that mean I'm doing the concentration properly?
  6. Here's what I do every morning: - Get up early - Cold shower (so that I can wake up properly) - 20 minutes of regular meditation (so that my mind can settle) - 20 minutes of self-inquiry If you have a lot of monkey-mind, I recommend doing some sort of meditation before the actual self-inquiry, so you don't 'waste' your session chasing your thoughts. / Or check out the Kriya thread. It is said to have a great calming effect on the mind.
  7. Maybe it's ego backlash. Have you seen Leo's episode about it?
  8. That sounds really serious. Are you sure that Kriya triggered these kind of emotions in you?
  9. Yup, I think that works pretty well. I also start with breath meditation, then I proceed to self-inquiry.
  10. Web developing stuff and engineering if you're into that (for instance CAD, there are a lot of great tutorials on youtube, you can easily start there)
  11. I also like to draw paralell between techno and the present moment. Especially if you're at a party. There's no "you" anymore, only the music and the moment. By the way, check out this guy's channel: He has some pretty awesome mixes which contain melodic / atmospheric techno tracks.
  12. Can self-inquiry be the cause for ego backlash? Have you ever had a great session of self-inquiry followed by an ego backlash? Can it be the ego's reaction when it is questioned? What do you think?
  13. Pretty good videos, thanks for posting them!
  14. Aspiring engineer / CAD technician and translating technical documents.
  15. I quit drinking coffee cold turkey a while ago because I realized I was dependent on it. After that, I fixed my sleep schedule thus I have a lot more energy so I don't need caffeine in my system. Still, I really like the taste and sometimes it'd be so good to drink a cup but then I'd risk relapsing, so I discipline myself
  16. If I were you, I'd check the local pharmacy. Usually, pharmacies sell salt water with the thingy that you can inject with. Sometimes my nose is also clogged and it helps (for a while at least).
  17. Thanks man, quite interesting site. I especially like this one: http://www.headless.org/experiments/closed-eyes.htm
  18. That would be pretty good but I've decided recently that I want to learn it so I'll have to buy the book(s) from Leo's booklist about it.
  19. I've been practising self-inquiry (both formal practise and during everyday activities as well) for a while now and I noticed some 'effects' of it on my ego. Personally, sometimes a weird feeling hits me out of the blue. For example, I'm sitting at my desk at work and a feeling comes up as if it's not even me who's sitting at the desk. It lasts like ~5 seconds and then my ego 'comes back' and I continue doing whatever I was doing. Kinda hard to explain but it is quite a strange feeling. Also, nowadays I notice a lot of equanimity. I'm not sure if this is a result of the regular meditation or the self-inquiry (or both) but here's just a random example: The other day I was talking to one of my coworker and she was really obnoxious and rude. It even made me angry but after our conversation ended, I asked myself: "Who's angry right now?". I contemplated on this for a few minutes and the usual equanimity returned and I carried on with my work. So this topic is not about the definition/method/practise/whatever of self-inquiry but I'd rather hear your personal experiences.
