  1. Yesterday I found an awesome quote from Ram Dass. It's quite relevant here:
  2. I've decided to do one month of concentration practise (5 minutes) before my regular meditation sessions. Let's do it. If it goes well, I'll increase it to 10 minutes.
  3. "When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn't get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don't get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying 'You are too this, or I'm too this.' That judgment mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are." Holy shit, this quote from Ram Dass is so spot on.
  4. What I like to remind myself is that if I ever experience anything like that, it'll not depend on me. Forcing it can hinder the process, because it tends to put you into the future. So, when I'm caught up in fantasies, I remind myself of the present moment and just relax into it. That's the only thing one can do.
  5. This is a great thread! I'm gonna design my dreamboard too, thanks for the idea.
  6. It depends on the posture. I started meditating in a chair, but after a while I wanted to 'learn' to sit in a meditation posture. I chose the burmese position because that's the easiest one. At first I was pretty bad, my legs wore sore and I was quite distracting. I kept at it and now I can hold it for even 60 minutes relatevily comfortable and I don't even notice the posture. So I'd say keep at it, your body needs some time to adjust, but with persistance you'll be able to hold the posture without any problems (the full lotus position is an expcetion and I think it's overkill anyway). Also, stretching is always good and get yourself a zafu. It'll hold your hips nicely.
  7. +1 If you want to binge some netflix or play some video games, go for it. If you don't do these excessively, you'll be just fine.
  8. Yeah, intermittent fasting. Been doing it for 7 months now and it's pretty great and convenient. I'm not even hungry before lunch (12pm) and if need be, I can fast longer than 16 hours.
  9. Completely valid point. I totally agree with not keeping up a saintly figure appearance. People putting you up on a pedestal is rampant (especially on this forum) and it's not really healthy. But, there's a fine line between being authentic or maybe even blunt and being straight up obnoxious and arrogant. Though, you mentioned that you were working on this, so it's all good.
  10. Sounds great. I'll definitely give it a try.
  11. Oh, I see quite a lot of synthwave and The Midnight tracks. I love 'em too. The Midnight - Vampires
  12. I think that's another ironic paradox of self-development. Once you start working on yourself, start loving yourself and realize that you don't need anybody to be happy, that's when you'll attract high-quality women. Of course, you'll still need to take initiative, these girls will not appear out of thin air just because you're working on yourself. However, you can afford to be picky, because you're not attached to the outcome.
  13. Thanks for sharing, will check it out. By the way, just a random question: Where are you from? Tried to figure it out by your accent, but I couldn't

  15. I haven't watched the video yet, but if I recall correctly, Leo never said that psychedelics will awaken you permanently (judging by the title of the video).
  16. This is not gonna be some super-spiritual advice, but there is a Joe Rogan episode with Nikki Glaser and she told his story about quitting smoking/drinking. She ready one book about it and that's it. I think she's pretty convincing. I'm not sure about the book, but hey, try it out, it might help you. The reviews under the book are quite promising as well. Check it out from 1:30 (you can find the book too in the description of the video)
  17. +1 Also, do you still set some time aside to contemplate or contemplating has become ongoing process for you?

  19. This phenomenon is the ego backlash. It's normal and you can't avoid it, unfortunately. Have you seen Leo's video about it?
