  1. This may sound airy-fairy, but I'd say true happiness is flowing with life. Learning appreciating even the small everyday things. Seeing problems as a chance to grow. Having an authentic purpose does help. In short, life-long learning and enjoying the process.
  2. You've got a pretty awesome list, however, learning accepting and handling negative emotions (suffering, impatience, anxiety, etc) effectively go a long way. Essentially, emotional mastery.
  3. It's possible, but it depends on your patience and persistence. There are some pretty good books in Leo's book list in the LoA section. I'm reading one of those right now. I'd also add that you should practise shadow work besides visualization. This is often underemphasized, but if you have shadowy desires and unsatisfied aspects in your psyche, then you're gonna sabotage yourself no matter how hard you practise visualization. If you're interested in shadow work, Existential Kink by Carolyn Elliott is az excellent book.
  4. Yeah, you make a good point. What I do is seeking out people who I can talk to about these things. Unfortunately, there's only 1-2 people (so far) in my social circle, but I'm always on the look-out. If I can sense that the person in question is not receptive to a heavy and meaningful conversation about spirituality/metaphysics/philosophy, then I don't force it. I'd end up triggering them anyway
  5. I've always had a hard time accepting or even liking my looks even though I'm a tall guy with a regular physical appearance. Recently I've been doing some shadow work and I realized that this issue stems from my teeneage years. I'll continue to work on this, that's for sure, but do you think it's possible to reach a level where one even loves his own looks?
  6. @Preety_India ❤️ @Rilles Yup, that'd be the idea. Honestly, I don't even know why I made this thread, but, oh well
  7. @xxxx Yeah, you're totally right and I know these intellectually, but to integrate this stuff in my everyday life, well, that's when the rubber meets the road, I guess. Also, come to think of it, humans are weird as hell when it comes to looks Did you manage to get to a point where you love your looks?
  8. Right on! Soon I'll have to face this fear as well
  9. @ShardMare Thanks man, pretty neat list
  10. @Loving Radiance Your post reminds me of the good ol' Advaita Bear
  11. @Sagar Takker Man, thank you so much for recommending this book. Yesterday I bought it and I'm already halfway through it. Just did my first EK session and holy shit, this is definitely some powerful stuff! Absolutely mind-blowing book.
  12. @PepperBlossoms Adyashanti comments on this exact thing in this video at 22:25. He's totally spot on.
  13. It's gonna be like before I was born. Or when I'm in deep sleep. Utter and complete emptiness. At least that's where I'm at right now. I could throw in a popular nondual answer like "you merge with the universe" or "you become unconditional love" and I'd like to think that, but it wouldn't be an honest post.
  14. This sure looks interesting. I'll definitely check this one out!
  15. "Ask me about the nature of existence 'cause that's something dope to talk about" Well, yeah Anyway, at first I thought it was really cringy, but I have to say, I like the way he's just messing around with this stuff. I'm pretty sure that the majority of the people think he went completely insane (especially those who don't know about spirituality), but this doesn't seem to bother him. In fact, he goes out and messing with it without harming anyone. This is pretty cool.
  16. One of the forum members posted the 'Who Are We' documentary a while ago. I was amazed by the quality of the video. I checked out the channel and it turns out, the guy who made it has lots of great content. https://www.youtube.com/c/AnthonyCheneproduction/videos (If this has been posted before, please delete this thread)
  17. I asked myself the same kind of questions a while ago. After some comtemplation, I felt intuitively that I needed to stop putting labels on my spiritual practises because they can easily become mechanical tail chasing routines. So, nowadays my main spiritual practise (if you can call it a practise) is just sitting in silence. I basically let go of any goals and just listen to the silence. As for you, either try to drop all of your expectations and goals when engaging in spiritual practises or keep seeking even harder. It requires some experimentation, but eventually you'll see what works for you.
  18. Just watched it. It's brilliant. It has a really great storyline, clever characters and most importantly, a profound message. Solid 10/10.
  19. @seeking_brilliance An entire room for just balloons, wow
