You seem to be making the assumption that continued survival or persistence of some identity through time is good or bad, it would seem to require that one is some object capable assuming a polarity towards other objects for such a thing to appear true.

Sometimes you need to be egotistical to get things done!

The inner core of Christianity points to a kind of enlightenment when it speaks of rebirth and of relinquishing the self. It also has some useful teachings about humility particularly helpful for us "know-it-alls". I think thought, the real significance of such teachings are missed by most Christians.

Immorality of various kinds seems to be mainly concerned with obtaining enhanced survival for the ego.
