You definitely need to have that balance in your life. Consider how you can do both; contemplate on a life where you do your art, go to the gym, read and all the other things you love to do and still come out on top, producing even more effective art because of it

I got stuck, too. I still have to finish reading Mastery. I'm meeting resistance right now because I'm not a fast reader. I can totally relate. You just have to push through and do it anyway.

I love Teal Swan! She's got some great spiritual insight

If you go with the option that makes you feel the most alive, you can't lose. You might open up so many more doors having taken that road instead of the "safe" road. You really owe it to yourself to follow your heart.

You're definitely right about the latest and greatest syndrome...that's been the crutch of consumerism in the American economy for so long. The best you can do to help them is not lend them money. They need to feel the burn and have that reality check.

Imagine the day you die is just going to be another normal day like the one you're experiencing now; you never know. I find death quite intriguing and mysterious. It's like we get all the answers to the questions at that point, or do we? Who knows. I once read a quote from Buddha that said "The problem is, you think you have time" Our lives are really short compared to the span of the cosmos. We really don't have that much time at all which does add perspective and yes motivation in some cases.

There's nothing wrong with being alone...life is mostly a journey inward, anyway. There's not too much anyone else can do for you. They can't give you the deep sense of love and acceptance and fulfillment you're really searching for. Being alone is one of the crosses you have to carry when you're about much more than the average bear. The society that we live in is not a healthy one and disconnecting from it and going within, being alone is probably one of the healthiest and sane things you can do. So pat yourself on the back and continue to be selective in who you allow to share your time because once you're around other people you start to think like them and pick up their habits unconsciously. It's best to guard your journey with people who are on your level or higher so you can keep finding that deeper truth within yourself. Sometimes all anyone else is going to do is distract you from going inward anyway.

That's a really loaded question. Do you have a specific idea in mind for what exactly you'll need funding for? There are tons of ways to find start up cash; kickstarter.com is a good site, gofundme.com is another one. If you want to be around wealthy people who can potentially invest in your idea, it would take small steps if you're on the outside. You can start by hanging out where they go, golf clubs, yacht clubs, etc. volunteer there or work there. Do like a gorilla does when he wants to be accepted by a new group; he just starts by hanging out around them, close enough to where they can see him and he gets exposure, but not so close that he scares them and they try to run him away. Over time, they just accept that he's there and he gets into the group. The same applies to humans, go where the wealthy can see your face and get a feel for you.

There are so many distractions in this world, so many outside forces saying BE this, BE that, DO this, DO that. Now, is really a great time to go inward and explore your inner world. Take time to get away and sit with no outside stimulation for awhile and really visualize what you want for yourself. Really give it some time and thought, a lot of time and thought...really sit with it, be willing to sit still for a long time and go deep within yourself to find which direction you want to go in next. Treat your next step like it's your last.

Haha...that's so true about Aries! I'm an Aries and have had that problem for a looooooong time! Love starting things, but it took time to stick to something and follow through with it.

You've got to go with what's going to keep your soul alive. Screw any moment doing something just for the sake of survival...don't starve your inner world. That's all that really matters. Go in the direction of your passions, be willing to lose status and be willing to sacrifice other people's opinions for it. Your inner world is signaling you to come alive. Follow it and see where that wave takes you, you never know, it might just surprise you.

I would have to say the golden rule for starting a business is to KNOW that business back and forth, inside and out, like the back of your hand before you go into it. That's all you need to know to get started really. It's better to measure 10 times and cut once, than to measure once and cut 10 times. The first step in your business should be knowing it and researching if FULLY.

What kind of person do you think you would have to be to really succeed at life coaching? What kind of habits, passions, etc. need to be in place before even considering life coaching as something possible for you?
-
Also think about what ways you want to coach and just start doing it. Don't wait on a certificate to validate you, just get out there and put foot to ground with your ideas. Give speeches at high schools or churches, places that will easily let you in and start building a name for yourself; just get out there and start...the rest will fall into place.

I would be so impervious to the outside world that virtually nothing could affect me. I'd have a deeper sense of life and what's going on here and the ability to see beyond what we see physically; I'd be more connected with the energy of the cosmos and able to tap into other realms of consciousness.

For so many years I went through life aimlessly wandering what my passion was and where I would do best in life. I went from job to job, got a degree in economics, thought about Law school, ended up studying acting for a year in LA, then went and backpacked across Asia...all looking for my passion haha. I think it's something just unfolds as you go and you do have to decide to master at least ONE thing and turn a blind eye to everything else. We're too distracted nowadays and that makes it harder to focus and be diligent. Ultimately we've got to think what's beyond our thoughts and emotions and fulfill that part of ourselves (the deeper/higher levels within us). Once we do that, nothing else really matters. So, ultimately, life's about taking the journey within.

Great idea!! Thanks for suggesting this! I'm currently in Hawaii until July, then I'll be in South America backpacking. I'm always looking for cool people to join me on the road

That's another one that's saved on my podcast feed for replays!
-
Yes, I've definitely saved that one in my podcast feed...one I got back to just for the reminders lol

Haha wow!! Not even 30 seconds??? That's hilarious! As if on-cue lol! It's so funny, but so necessary. Sometimes we just need to step outside of our 'niceness' and create some resistance. The one I've listened to the most that I absolutely LOVE is still quite recent..."30 Ways Society Fucks you in the Ass". That's the one that hit the nail on the absolute head! It helped me to really see society for what it was and to disconnect even more and that meant passing up on eating at certain places, keeping my guard up when I'm shopping for items, etc. Society is not our friend. It boosted my selectiveness. Loved it!

That reminds me of Yogananda. They said he had such a strong presence about him, you could feel his energy through his eyes. The real ones always stand out. -

It's so interesting from that video how the real test of knowledge is experience. You really don't know until you know. And in some of the enlightenment videos he even said he couldn't really describe the experience, it had to be done on your own. So true! -

I totally agree. Good health plays a role in your overall experience. I support raw food, vegan diets. I think it's great for cleaning out the body and creating a safe space for that energy to channel through. -
With ego being soooooo ingrained into the very social fiber of our being, it seems almost impossible to realize the fact that is just a thought and that the self is all in our imaginations. It going to take lots of practice to get to that point where the ego is brutally crushed and the authentic self can emerge. I can't wait, I have to practice mindfulness to get me in the habit. I'm in my head a lot, which means not in the moment. At times I can easily get caught up with trying to fix things and not being enough, but it really is ALL ego. The truth is that everything is in divine order and there's no need to control anything because we're not in control anyway. There are things happening way outside of our fields of consciousness that we have no control over, but are entirely subject to.
