@Amanaki yeah he is from advaita vedanta, or Hinduism. Which is of course something totally different than Buddhism. Hinduists or advaita vedanta followers still cling to their soul (Atman) and consciousness (Brahman) as being something absolute. They don't have the insight into the dependent origin or reality. They believe that Brahman is the cause of everything. That is what they call being enlightened. Others might call it Solipsism.

I just saw These Videos on YouTube on Leo. Notice that the guy doesnt hate About Leo. He actually says in the Videos that he thinks Leo made a lot of helpful Videos in the past and is positive About his Website and book recommendations. I looked into him and appartenly he was a non-Dualist for over 20 years because his parents were into this. And he realized this was nonsense and an Escape in the mind after all. Repackaged new-age he calls it. Now he seems to warn People About non-Dualist teachers preaching what they say is the truth. Although These teachers might say to go into your direct experience, this experience will not be objective as the teacher dissmisses every other way. They often tend to promote psychedelics in the quest which inhibits any objectivity. Which is especially potentially dangerous for troubled Young People. What do you guys think?

Who says he is a teacher? Who said he is enlightened? So you can not say to someone who says something, it is wrong, without it being a cry for Attention? So we can not say anything To what someone else says, cause it would be a cry for Attention... Look at part 1 or 2 from his Video again. Its no mockery if he Comes with solid Arguments and sees they are just full of shit and want to build a Living by trying to convice gullible People by putting Videos on YouTube where they preach things. You are free to mock him though.

This is just using SD, which itself is Nothing more then a belief System, to devaluate others by trying to Point them somewhere, in this imaginary scale, based upon your Interpretations. You are not even going into the Points he makes in the Videos, but you go straight into using another belief System to try and dismiss him.

Indeed, From the side of People Living in reality, his awakening was just a psychosis, or dissociation from reality. From the side of People Living in the believe of non-duality, he had an awakening. And now he is just Consciousness and reality is an Illusion, Dream or appearance. Look you can believe in non-duality and probably have a very happy life. But you will be dissociated from reality and you probably have Trouble dealing with situations from, and in, reality. But this is one of the main reasons People want to believe in non-duality, because it Looks like an Escape from the reality they are Living in. The guy Points that out Pretty well.

yeah apparently he was Born in a non-duality Family. When he was 20 years old he saw through this whole belief he lived in for whole of his life, up until that point. Well, if you see that non-duality is just a psychological abyss, People seem to warn other People who seem to fall for this believe, for the sake of them. If they want to or not, or if they are grateful or not. But hey, if People are happy believing…. let them be. Some People however might appreciate a different look before they dive into the unknown. So, you can say; what is this guy doing, thinking he should warn other People from his belief. It is just ego Talking blabla. Or you could think, wait a Minute lets see what he has to say and go forth from there. Strong believers probably have the tendency to go with the first Option as they dont want their beliefs to be doubted with. Yeah why this thread again? Is it because People try really hard to attack Leo and non-duality, because they are jealous or out of their ignorance, or is it because it makes sense?

The Point he makes is that non-dualty is the believe in a truth. This truth is Consciousness (or a repackaged Version of god, what he calls it). Did you watch the Videos? Does anyone watch the Videos? Or is everybody just defending their beliefs from their beliefs?

No, specifically because he is running a Business which is funded by People following him and watching his Videos this is important. Is he not trying to convice People a bit by saying "you are wrong, it is this and that…," especially if you are in a state where you have less Knowledge and are searching for a truth?

The psychedelic substance does not inhibit objectivity, however any Interpretation drawn from the experience is highly subjective. Because the experience is so strong, the intepretation will therefore be very subjective and forced deeply into ones being. Unless you are constantly on psychedelics, the experience is not reality as we are Living it.

Did you even watch the Videos before asking this? Well if a teacher says it is all Consciousness or any other word he or she might use for this, he or she dismisses everything else as existing as is. Look on YouTube or Google for psychedelics and non-duality or psychedelics and spirituality. Does Leo, everytime when he speaks or writes About psychedelics, warns People About the dangers of them? Also, because he believes in non-duality he can not really warn others for the potential dangers of them as he believes in the use of them to reach non-duality. Please watch the movies first before discussing them.

Yep you are right, but nobody really cares, cause here is someone who says he is enlightened. And he has answers to questions, so they will just believe him. It is a pity, but the desire to reach enlightenment and ask someone who says he is, is greater then a focus on self-inquiry. That is why they will never reach it, but they are in the illusion they are coming closer to the truth. He is a non-dualist, not enlightened as a Buddhist like Thich Nhat Hanh or any other buddhist. But on this forum they are all looking for non-duality, it is what Leo preaches. So they don't really read our posts, our want to listen to what we say. My advice, put your energy in self-inquiry and let the gullible ask questions to the priest. If they believe hard enough they are there, they will feel enlightened. Can't really prevent such a movement, nor should you want too. Gullible people will always listen to people who are a bit more knowledgeable. If you want the world to be different then it is, you are going to suffer.

But if you are on the right path to dissolve the self, your actions and words are right all along the way. But you won't know this until you reached Nirvana. Karma is nothing else then cause and effect. If there is a cause, there is an effect, if there is an effect there is a cause and effect and a cause and effect... Hence, rebirth But in the end you will see that cause and effect are just a duality.

Well if you talk to other people and they are influenced by your words and actions, you will have an effect on their self. However if your words and actions are 'right,' meaning aimed at self-dissolving, this has the effect of dissolving the self in them. However you don't really know what these right words and actions are until you dissolved the self in yourself. That's why they say that if you reached Nirvana you end the cycle of rebirth.

Yeah well it's not going to be your consciousness. It is the consciousness of the universe looking at itself. However, if some big meteor would crash into our planet and wipe the planet and all the living creatures from existence, all of our consciousness will be wiped out.

If someone is a father and has not reached Nirvana, end of the cycle of rebirth/ transcended the self, he will have a karmic (cause-effect) imprint on his son or daughter which leads to growth of the self in his daughter or son.

Buddhists don't believe in anything, they see that as long as there are humans, the self is reborn again. They don't refer to you being reborn, they refer to the self being reborn. And how do you know this?

They don't ignore what they perceive through the senses. Now and that would be a shame wouldn't it? Now that we have convinced ourselves that this is not the case? We would lose every 'afterlife' we convinced ourselves we have. Let's not go there..

One could argue anything they want as long as they believe in a truth. That's exactly my point. Arguing is the method of the ego in finding the truth in which it believes. What if the truth does not exist?
