Well if the Truth is ABSOLUTE, then it should include every single manifestation/facet of reality, including all social phenomena, Elon Musk, pooping babies, heroin or flying cars (even merely as a thought in a mind-body). Thus, everything is intelligent, every single occurrence you are a witness to. Otherwise, if something is not, then that makes the Truth partial/not absolute which is not possible since the Truth is everything. -

@Rilles That is the hard one, isn't it? As soon as something is thought or said, then it is already dualistic and partial which makes language and thoughts quite unsuccessful in conveying the Absolute. It took me some time to realize that a thought or a phrase or a sentence could never describe the Truth. But we are doing quite well in our descriptions on this forum, so we should keep it up and help ourselves/others/whatever. No point or use or meaning in what I am saying anyhow, so keep it playful as Alan Watts used to say. -

A lovely one! As I was sitting in my living room once, I realized something related - all of science, religion, philosophy, etc is trying to explain what you are seeing right now! THERE IS NOTHING MORE DIRECT THAN WHAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCING RIGHT NOW! No molecules, no mind-body problems and no Gods are flying in the air around you as there is only one reality - you, God, everything, right Now. Nice one, Rilles. -

Peter Ralston is quite direct in his approach - remember he was once shouting in the face of a kid "WAKE UP, STOP PRETENDING, WAKE THE FUCK UP". I love the guy. -

There is no universal agreement as to the exact scope and subject matter of logic. (source: Wikipedia) You have to get down and dirty yourself for this one. -

Contemplate on doing/actions. Can be a good way to see there is no such thing in direct experience, merely feedback from reality (an endless flux of impersonal occurrences). So what you are left with is sensations/perceptions/thoughts. Looking at those, 'you' do not really DO anything to think or to perceive - it all comes naturally even if you are resisting it. Thus, where is the doer/thinker? Just adding this exercise which might be useful before somebody gets offended that I am refuting his point -

He already did say he is continuing on the path, any word description will not do his experience justice -

Go with it and see where it takes 'you' -

Nothing of this intensity in my direct experience, but something that might be tangential - I would often try to let go of control and be like 'do whatever you want' to the body. In such cases my hands would start doing random movements and everything would seem to be happening of itself. I recently had the realization that there is no such thing as 'action', but simply perceptions and sensations of impersonal occurrences (reality itself). Thus, any control is just an illusion - the ego is trying to predict what is going to happen as it has no idea/control. So it might be that this occurrences were there to show 'you' something similar to this. Using the guy sitting next to the road analogy - he can only guess which way the cars are headed, but has no real control over it. However, he believes that he is orchestrating the entire event. This is in a way the ego. Interesting post. -

Definitely, consciousness work makes dreams clearer/more vivid - I have noticed this as well. Lately I have been questioning the dream state and it is looking more and more like the waking one. I had this interesting occurrence where my thought process from a dream continued directly as I woke up in my bed. It felt as if the same reality was continuing in a different form and I was simply the witness of it - quite fascinating, maybe it was pointing to the Absolute Truth haha. -
Flammable replied to Ingit's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Ingit Control is an illusion, the ego projects control/meaning/judgment over reality, whereas it is simply happening. If you observe direct experience long enough, 'you' can notice that you do not control sensations, actions or thoughts. It is like a person sitting on the side of the road believing he is controlling the vehicles on the road. Good luck. -
Just wanted to share an interesting insight from a meditation session today. The question 'What is an action?' popped up and there was a sudden realization that one never comes in contact with such a thing called action or doing - all one ever experiences is the feedback from events/occurrences in reality (perceptions, sensations and thoughts which give an overview of what is happening right now). One cannot directly come in contact with an action - like what does that even mean? Is it a sound? Is it a sight? Is it a thought? Thus, if there is only observation of infinite occurrences rather than actions in direct experience, what does it mean to be a do-er or who is the one doing anything if there is no doing happening at all? Where is the do-er/self if there is nobody doing anything? Worth contemplating for awhile, is it not...

@Jack River I would assume so - the lack of identification with the self/thought breaks its own cycle of feeding itself with more thoughts. Then there is no self which also means no movement of reaction/action. What is left is just impersonal occurrences, not thought-driven actions. -

Flammable replied to Preetom's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Preetom Those people who do not want to do it just have not yet grasped the intersubjectivity of relative existence. Then you can just assume it is not their time and, as Alan pointed out, let them persist in their folly After all, everything is precisely where it should be. -
Flammable replied to Preetom's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Preetom In the scientist's direct experience (stage Orange lets say on any of the developmental theories such as SP) signifiers such as 'God' or 'absolute infinity' do not point to the intended signified by a sage (stage Turquoise/Indigo on those same theories). Thus, they will gravely misinterpret those words even without their conscious effort because those signifiers simply do not exist in their worldspace. You need to explain to a scientist how he can arrive at such a conclusion by showing him which perspective it is being looked from and how to get there (in a few months or years through meditative or contemplative practices). Then it is up to them to decide whether they want to undertake that experiment and see for themselves. It is just like going to a tribe in Africa (stage Purple) and talking about human rights/absolute infinity - they will just reinterpret anything given to them according to their developmental stage. Even though they might be aware of 'Oneness'/'Absolute Infinity', they might have re-contextualized it as an animal spirit due to their developmental stage. So, in their worldspace, the signifiers point to different signifieds than in yours - for them it is merely impossible to perceive your 'direct experience' of 'Oneness'. -

People can't be talked out of illusions. If a person believes that the earth is flat, you can't talk him out of that, he knows that it's flat. He'll go down to the window and see that its obvious, it looks flat. So the only way to convince him that it isn't is to say, "Well let's go and find the edge”. And in order to find the edge, you've got to be very careful not to walk in circles, you'll never find it that way. So we've got to go consistently in a straight line due west along the same line of latitude, and eventually when we get back to where we started from, you've convinced the guy that the world is round. That's the only way that will teach him. Because people can't be talked out of illusions. You just let them persist in their own illusions until they are no longer bearable. Alan Watts -

@Ingit There is no 'I' which can destroy or kill the body. 'You' never even had control over it -

@Dodo The thought 'I am a human' is still perceived. By whom? -
Flammable replied to How to be wise's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yes, as it is your direct experience. Go and check it for yourself. No urge present to convince you. Stab yourself in the brain and see what happens if you are keen. At the end of the day it boils down to epistemology - what can you really know if there is nothing to be known? You can just be it. -
Flammable replied to Flammable's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Jack River More like there is identification with that reaction/action? Who is the one that can act in regards to that incomplete sense of thought? Lack of identification with reaction/thought allows everything to become impersonal and then reality/actions start becoming more coherent/aligned with Truth.
