@Knock That is why I posted it about it on here. I know the risks. @Knock I mean it is so appealing. I am open for any suggestions, but if no one else responds I guess this will be it.

It always has left a scar on my subconscious mind. I remember the critical moments when I was little and didn’t know what was going on. I heard screams and before I knew it the police arrived. Currently it is not much of a pain in the ass, besides that I have to give my Sundays up cause the judge thought it was a nice idea for me and my siblings to spend the Sundays with my dad. Even though we all agreed we didn’t want to and testified against it. My parents are both imperfect and ignorant. I am almost 18 and will instantly move out when the time comes. I have huge international plans and will at some point not look back at what is left of them. Just a few more years....

On school days I go to bed around 09:50 PM (but fall asleep between 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM) and wake up always on 06:35 AM. Weekends I sleep around 11-12 PM and wake up around 09:00 AM.

@Michael569 most what Michael says I agree with. Personally I started rationalizing about this a lot. “Alright BUT WHY do I feel like dressing differently today?” and stuff like that. I tried to look at everything from the perspective of the people I wanted to impress and I realized that they weren’t even a bit worried about me. All they care about is themselves too! Everyone is constantly lost in their thoughts which are somehow related to them. That girl with the new highlighter? She bought that cause it’s trending. The boy with the nice sneakers? He knew Kanye West wore that on Instagram and bought it. I stopped doing my hair, wear most of the same clothes everyday and try to always be true to myself even with others. Sure sometimes I have tendencies, but the trick is then to observe it.

Hello everyone. Recently it has come clear to me that I seem to have elevated my social status in my school. People talk to me regularly, greet me, joke with me and say goodbye to me. Compared to my previous year, I seem to be doing great. My thing is that sometimes there are 2 girls calling my name from different directions while I am talking to my mate about economy class. Or when I am talking with a girl from my class and a classmate of mine calls my name. These scenarios where multiple people try to communicate with me leave me confused. If I ignore the calling, they usually tell me later that I ''skipped'' them. More importantly, I see my male mates as higher priority than attention from girls, yet sometimes I have this urge to ignore them for attention from girls. I have no clue how to act on this accordingly. What do I do? (I notice that my teachers ignore me until they're done with the person they're talking with, and copying their way of dealing with this might make me come over as a ''teacher'')

Hello everyone. Do you ever wish you were some kind of almighty being? Some emperor or king? Or in general, a very influential person? I sometimes wish people looked up to me, that it would mean a lot for other people to get my attention/validation/approval. Having me as a friend would be someting people would brag about. Whenever I am fighting or arguing with someone, people would know the consequences of arguing with me. People would know the consequences of ''fucking'' with me (both online and IRL). Truth is: I hold 0 power. My question is then: what would be a self-actualized way to deal with this urge? Chase it and see where it leads me? I am actually clueless.

@Chakra Lion That is the thing man. I am currently struggling to control my mind and emotions. I am meditating though and soon will be trying Kriya yoga. Controlling how I behave has been one of the easiest things I have done in my life. I am extremely disciplined, like seriously. Well... that is in public. I still have some addictions which I take part in during my private free time. Not proud of those... This urge for power is really just controlling other people, the way they think about me and in general about certain stuff. Even though I can control myself for a bit, this urge always comes up when people either annoy me or I am bored and my mind takes me to fantasy land. You suggest I try to control myself completely and see how I feel afterwards? If so, what practices do you recommend for controlling mind and emotions?

@MAYA EL Nice man. You just called me a beta male without actually answering my question. If you can’t relate at all, why bother answering to my topic? Seriously what am I supposed to do with what you just said?
-
It is strange how much I can relate with you. I ended up in a huge chunk of anxiety and tried to masturbate it off. I felt incredibly fatigued. I barely managed to go to the gym. I skipped school for a day just to get my head right. I don’t know about you but I have only ever had one girlfriend, which I didn’t treat good at all and left after a month. I realized during that time that having a girlfriend felt too much like a burden. I wasn’t happy then and so this time with this other girl I started giving her less attention. Truth is I am full of lust and she probably isn’t planning to deal with lust alone. Maybe I actually like her, but I guess I’ll never find out. In the end I just want sexual intimacy so badly... Good luck man. I haven’t found some kind of solution for this so far. I have become more mindful though.... I am pretty sure enlightenment is knocking on the door, I just don’t know which door.

@CreamCat I just noticed a typo. I meant ''wouldn't''. Jeez that put a completely different meaning to my message. @CreamCat So you're saying I should first of all be wary of the power I already posses and after that try to chase it, but not feel frustrated when it takes too long?
-
@Matt8800 Elaborate ''low and high vibrational power'' please. @Matt8800 Dude this isn't helping me. I was asking what I should do with this urge, not for a summary of a potential consequence in case I DO get the power. I can't do much with this you see.

Hello everyone. This topic has lately been bothering me when I looked up stuff about my (hopefully) future job. Lets say you are falling off a cliff/being really humiliated in front of your social circle/being humiliated by your teacher or parent(s)/arguing with someone and it gets heated etc. You get my point. How do you stay cool? How do you manage to calm down? With some things I can see how it can be easy. Lets say you are arguing and the other person starts screaming and throwing personal attacks at you. Obviously I can see that this person is making a fool out of themselves and so I keep my cool. However, lets say you can't leave North Korea after a 5-day trip, get arrested for ''colluding against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea'' and even though you know you are innocent, you also know enough about North Korea and end up being send to prison. How do you keep it cool up there? If I were holding a gun at your mother how would you keep it cool? If you were falling down and your parachute doesn't open how do you keep it cool? (Are there any practices which can help keeping it cool up there?)

@CreamCat I would want to use my power to hurt anyone. I just would like the reputation it gives me, the effect it has on how people treat me and just have an overall great influence in huge matters. Please elaborate: Patience for what? What would I need stoic awareness for?

@DrewNows Thanks for your advice man . I am definitely going to contemplate about that.

@Andrewww I don't control the fact that I have to go and leave school on certain times. I can't control what others think of me. Hell, I can't control others. I do have control over whether or not (and when) I go to the gym, my diet and what I do in my free time (besides when I have to study or make homework, over that I have 0 control). @Andrewww Yes. I can't see myself hold some kind of power over my best friend. He is my mate, I see him as an equal. I also can't see myself somehow hold power over my parents or my siblings. A big ''no'' indeed. @Andrewww My strengths are concentrating in class, getting good grades and making homework. Seriously, I think that is all. I don't know if you can have power with that.

@bejapuskas For an astronaut to pass so they can go to the ISS, they have to endure some severe mental challenges. Stuff like literally flying to and from the ISS to earth, being able to not panick when something goes wrong during a spacewalk or just in general not losing your cool when being around the same people for 6 months. You gotta be at your top mental game there. Considering I want to become an astronaut I wonder what I can do now, so I can pass those tests easily and convince my space agency that I was the right choice.

Gotta agree with @Elham

I have gone from sad and depressing music to, in my opinion, psychedelic music/ambient music to.... I don’t know how to describe my current favorite genres. I noticed during the first ones that I always felt incredibly down and sad. This was before I found Actualized.org, so I didn’t have my basic self-help recourses. The psychedelic/ambient phase calmed my mind a lot. I felt like floating in space and so even strengthened my believe in becoming an astronaut one day. At some point I decided to listen to Redbone - Come and Get Your Love and I felt pretty damn good. Together with Ima Robot - Greenback Boogie and I feel happy and motivated to make something of my future! I highly recommend switching it up to some really happy songs from time to time or transition from sad to ambient to happy (not necessary these 3, make up your own order if you want to). Whatever suits you best. I have 0 experience listening to Linkin Park so I cannot really tell you much about it. Peace

In general what you have to understand is that animals can feel intimidated very quickly. For example a German shepherd approached me the other day in the park with full speed and barking (I am not a fan of animals). I turned around and stood still. I am considerably big and so certainly nothing to play with for the dog. He ended up running away, knowing that this wouldn't be another one of those ''fool runs away from dog and gets chased''. I stood my ground and the dog acknowledged it. I mean there are records of people scaring off wild lions. Humans can be very intimidating with our long limbs. You know that you are not a match against a bear, but that doesn't mean that the bear knows that.

Both ''Suits'' and its theme song are Orange I believe.

Hello everybody. My breakfast, before I go to school, exists out of cornflakes and milk. Although some might say that that is not an issue, I know for a fact that on this very forum people discuss a lot of times how dairy food = acne. Now I want to get rid of dairy, considering both you guys and I think Leo mentioned earlier that it is not one's best choice. I am able to replace milk by for example soy milk, coconut milk or goat milk (you guys don't know how happy I was when I saw these in my local grocery store), but now comes my other issue: cornflakes. I am used to eating this long before I started my journey here and so me and my mother don't know many alternatives for me. I wake up around 06:35 AM, meditate for 10 minutes on my couch and proceed to eat this stuff for 10 minutes. Because it is so easy to set up, I have enough time to get ready for school (I leave around 07:08 AM). As you can see I am looking for an alternative that is almost equal in terms of preperation time as cornflakes. Any suggestions? Or should I just eat cornflakes with coconut milk or goat milk instead of cow milk? I don't always need to wake up this early, sometimes I wake up around 07:20 AM in case I start later. For the record: school usually starts around 08:15 AM. (btw do any of you know any alternatives for eggs as breakfast? That is usually what I eat on saturday together with sujuk. Sujuk is kind of part of my Middle-Eastern culture, so any alternatives would suffice!)

@bejapuskas Don't worry, I don't either. I am no enlightened being, no Osho or Leo. I wish sometimes I was Terence Mckenna, but those are dreams His advice is really helpful though.
-
I have been thinking about this a lot. Teens, I feel you. This stuff is not easy. The kind of advice I usually hear both on this forum and in Leo's videos (about teens) consists mostly out of the following: Don't get into deeper topics like awakening, Gödel's Incompleteness Theorem, how to love everything and stuff like this. Don't focus on enlightenment right now. Focus on your future. Quit porn by all means necessary. Gaming can be fun, but certainly later in life will be irrelevant and you should be able to drop it. Read.... BOOKS! Clean up your diet. Do meditation, yoga, shadow work (not sure about this one), self-inquiry and shamanic breathing. Socialize a lot! You will need it later! We don't recommend psychedelic use under the age of 18, maybe because we care about your safety or maybe because we know that when our government sees that we DO recommended it we risk jail. Maybe both, you will never know. By the way, LSD is super dope! (I tried to look up Terence Mckenna's thoughts about this, but couldn't findy any.) All fun and stuff, but of course at some point I am gonna ask some questions. 1. I already know what I want to do later in life and where. I have a vision, a plan. I know I will be able to achieve it, given the circumstances in the wealthy country that is The Netherlands. What do I do now? Or should I just wait until I am 18 years old? (If necessary, I can explain what I want out of my life.) 2. Someone recommended me Inner Child work for quitting porn, you guys got any advice on this? 3. Gaming is boring me right now. I can see certain patterns in games that keep reoccuring, gaming developers trying to trick me by short-term pleasing me. I have no clue what to do besides sitting behind my computer in my free time. What can I do? I have been considering to just do nothing and sit in my room for hours during my free time, cause I literally have nothing else to do. 4. Which.... BOOKS? I bought Leo's booklist (I fell in love with PayPal in the meantime) and now I feel overwhelmed. Leo made an entire introduction video, saying stuff like ''taking notes'' and ''really contemplating the essence of the page that you just read''. Now suprise suprise, I am lazy. I am used to just reading a book and trying to enjoy it. Dead simple. Now you say that I should be writing notes after each ''critical lesson''? You are attacking my values and believes! How dare you! No but seriously... elaborate. What types of notes? What should I really look out for in a book? Should I do research about the book after I read it? 5. Are wholegrain foods OK? Wholegrain bread = fine? I am not sure, but I am enjoying a nice piece of dark bread. Together with butter and honey and man... I am in heaven! Oh, about butter: dairy is OK? I forgot about all the things that you guys rant about in the Fitness sub-forum, I get overwhelmed when I visit that rabbit hole. 6. Maybe now I come to think about it, I should read Leo's recommended book about Kriya yoga. Seems like you guys love yoga and love advicing me it. Oh, and do Wim Hof breathing method and shamanic breathing compare? Are they the same? I have tried shamanic breathing and it always makes me lust for fruits after each session. Kinda weird. All of the sudden berries aren't safe no more! 7. Yes but how! Everyone is on their phones all day! They sometimes don't bother looking at me! What the frick! I try so hard to find a topic of conversation, yet it just is impossible sometimes! When you talk to someone and a cute girl you like interrupts your conversation by asking you a question, what do you do? Happens to me everyday, so advice would suffice. 8. In The Netherlands, growing magic mushrooms is legal. Should I wait till 21? 18? What is it gonna be? I sometimes really long to be taken to another world, forgetting about the mundanity that is my current life. I love you if you have made it this far. I know loads of people will skip this, so really thank you! Now... can you answer any questions?

Hello everyone. Mods, I have no clue in which sub-forum this fits in. Recently I noticed that someone has started a debate club in school. ''Clubs'' aren't a thing in my school, so this came as a shock to me. Long before last year ended, I had the idea of starting a meditation club in high school. Now I won't be joining the debate club for the simple reason that... well... debates. Creating my own club however would be actually great. I could promote it by saying stuff like ''are you also so stressed out because of school?'' and ''do you want to just, not be worried for a few minutes?''. I could recommend bringing comfy leggings. I would start off by giving an explanation of the basics of meditation. Explaining them the Do-Nothing method and stuff like that. Then we could finally start. 10 minutes is what I intended to begin with. During the meditation, I would walk around and randomly tick on people's shoulders, telling them they are ''thinking too much, focus on your breath'' (considering I bet most of them have never done this before, I think we can all agree that they won't succeed for 2 seconds). I am still wondering if I should put on some ambient sounds during the meditation (maybe some type of trippy music, but I think that is too much for the first time). Later, after I have ordered the Kriya yoga book and have started implementing that stuff in my own daily life, I could teach it to my club. I was also thinking about teaching shamanic breathing. Remember: these are kids ranging from 12 years old to 18. I have no clue if this would be smart to do. Your thoughts?

@bejapuskas I have been consistently meditating for the last month after my break. Everyday in the morning 10 minutes. I realized I was pushing it too much by starting at 20 and working my way up to 50 in 6 months. I am taking it slow now. @Hello from Russia Thank you for responding. You have any recommendations on what things to try to master that could be really relevant later in the future? I heard programming is booming.
