@Shin Haha no that is you making a simple conclusion out of a post of mine. I want to train my awareness. I just don't know if this is a seperate problem by itself. Music being stuck in my head is something far stronger than a regular thought. Many people have music stuck in their head during their day. I was just wondering how one can meditate with this. -

@Shin The sooner or later I see myself completely identify with it. The vibration of the song, the lyrics, everything. Before I know it, I am stuck in the song. Getting out of it seems impossible. I don't see it as all funny and games anymore, I sometimes feel lost then. I don't feel myself, my body, anything. I feel like I am falling in an endless void surrounded by music. With simple thoughts it is different. Lets say that I had an argument with someone and it is stuck in my head. To a certain degree I can be the ''watcher'' and all of the sudden the thought dissapears! It can't sustain itself. Literally, it can't. It gets powerless and ceases the moment I shine with light on it. Songs don't work that way. After having shone the light, it reappears. In an endless loop it keeps coming back. -

@Shin who said that this is what I think meditation is? How did you come to this conclusion? -

Why not try it out? Don’t expect this forum to be your source for everything, be your own source :). Try it out for a few weeks, note what happens and make your decision from there. -
Hello everyone. I thought maybe some of you can give me some advice on dating. I am a young teen male. Every category from ‘approaching girls’ to ‘having a heathy relationship’ is welcome. I already know: Always use condom Being aware of your body while you are talking can help Look in her eyes when talking to her BE YOURSELF That’s all I have. Take care.

I have a similar plan, but I can only proceed when I am actually old enough. I thought about living somewhere in the north of Canada. It is pretty peaceful, fully related with nature and all. I just don't know if you need to pay taxes there.

13-01-2019 I think that apologizing once again for not posting too regularly is a waste of time. I have grown very much the past couple of weeks. Meditation + concentration practice + self-inquiry really pays off. The amount of things I discovered is actually quite impressive. What I exactly discovered would be too much to cover here, but lets just say that I am on the right path regarding that. I have ordered one of the Spiral Dynamics books and ''Your Brain on Porn'' for my porn addiction. After almost having completed part one of the Self-Deception series on Leo's channel, I realized how much porn is a self-deception. That is why right now I am not as addicted as I was begin this week. I was surprised how small the book actually is. Side note: Reading through ''The Power of Now'' seems to be really hard for me. Never have I struggled this much with a book. And it is not because it is an actual bad book, I think it is because my ego senses that its death is near. It wants to keep me distracted. Finally I have some kind of plan to work on. I mean like a goal I know I want to achieve. I won't spoil it here of course, but one of things I need (to achieve my goal) is learning how to program. My friend already knows a lot about that and is helping me with my project. Together I believe we can accomplish big things. Personal related stuff: I have a new crush on a girl in my class. I asked about dating advice on this forum. I think what I need to do is being more authentic.

@Leo Gura I thought that it was because I live in Europe and the server is hosted in the USA. I have had this problem both on Windows Firefox/Chrome and iOS safari. Literally from the moment I joined this forum I have had this problem (you can see when I made my account on my profile). I hope it will work better now.

I think we all need to calm down and take a fucking chill pill alright? Just calm down. Please consider meditating before letting all that rage out. I am talking to anyone here who can't control their mind here. Oh wait... we all can't am I right fellas? @Paul92 I understand your frustration. A few things you should know though: Never trust Leo 100%, he is still a human If you see anyone here praising Leo, they are doing the self-development work wrong If you see anyone here praising anything, they are doing it wrong. ''Praising'' does not mean ''working'. Therefore it is useless and a waste of your time Leo is just producing, actually very good quality video's on his channel. That is all. He is a simple information source. Not your master, nor your dad. Don't listen to him blindly. Always have a different source. A simple popular person like Eckhart Tolle as a source for your personal development work can help so much. Remember that there is no one true source. There are many different techniques and methods. Leo's is just pointing out some of them in his video's. My brother has autism and mental retardation. I don't fully know how you experience this world, but maybe you will respect me because in my case it is my brother who can't ''enlighten'' that easily. I don't know what is up in his mind. I don't know if my brother can control his mind or if he doesn't have a mind. I have struggled with great loneliness (not because of doing self-development work, but because I didn't know what ''a friend'' means) and always reached out to my brother. I have always seen him as my only reliable friend. Simply because he doesn't respond. He is quiet. Does he understand me? God knows. I forgot how many times I cried on his shoulder while he laughed. He just laughed. Now I don't know if you have tried any psychedelics. I don't know you personally. All I am saying is that literally everyone can enlightened. I know that there is a way for my brother to enlighten. First I will get enlightened myself, then look everywhere (literally EVERYWHERE) to get him fully enlightened. I don't want to be on my deathbed and regret that I haven't been able to enlighten my brother. If there is a possibility for an autist to enlighten, what is your excuse? Oh and don't expect everything Leo says to work. Not in the short-term nor in the long-term. Don't expect anything. Just observe. See what happens. If Leo says that you should try out meditating for a year, and many other self-help guru's, mystics and sages recommend it as well, then why don't you try it? Why not 10 years? Why not try 20 years? It is not like you have anything to lose right? This is just nihilism right? So who cares? Just try it. See what happens. -
Hello everyone. I think the title is pretty self-explainatory. I already meditate for 30 min a day, do 3x 2 min concentration practice, self-inquiry for 10 min, Nathaniel Branden’s sentence completion and try to read my books everyday. Since you guys have probably more life experience than me, I wondered if some of you might wanna help me out. Tell me the about all the things you regret doing or regret NOT doing. I am 14 years old btw.

@zambize Be my guest.
-
@Hello from Russia Believe me: I won't fall for that. No way. Lets just say that I will always have back-up, if you know what I mean
-
@zambize I am planning to read more of Matt Kahn's stuff for this. I found out that it is crucial to learn to love ''everything and nothing''. Love sounds cool.
-
@ajasatya My grades are already great, but thanks for the advice anyway. You mean like, for example: learning calculus on your own? Is calculus even mathematics?
-
@Outer You see: I am 14 years old. Money doesn't grow on my back, in fact that is what my parents would probably say when I ask them to buy the Life Purpose Course. Everything Leo creates, if it is a course or just a video, is not created for teens. It is created for adults. I understand this and don't blame Leo for anything, but this also means that some video's of him are straight up worthless for me. For example: the wage-slavery video. This was one of the first video's I saw from him and the only thing that I got was ''study psychology and know your LP as soon as possible''.
-
@Outer personal development, avoiding wage-slavery and knowing my life-purpose.
-
@DocHoliday if there is one guy who understands “love” it is Matt Kahn. Imagine how the converstations would be
-
Put Matt Kahn between them and enjoy

03-01-19 It is 2000 and freaking 19 everybody and no one cares! Because life goes on, the world keeps spinning, the sun keeps burning and I keep having moments with porn. Yes that is right. Sorry that I haven't posted in a long time. I really just, well, distracted myself too much. I knew this could happen (because of the christmas break), but this time I was a bit more concious during all of it. I am trying to quit porn and masturbate on my imagination or just some sounds on the internet. I really don't know what else I could do to release my sexual desires. Maybe I should buy ''Your Brain on Porn''.... As I said: Nothing has changed in 2019. Really, not much has changed. It might be a new beginning for some, but for me it is still the same. Something I actually did during New Year, unlike everyone outside celebrating 2019 with firework, was supporting our beloved earth in the last 6 hours! Because everyone with a little bit of interest in how the world works knows that the earth still needs some time to fully revolve around the sun. And I, as a volunteer, supported earth while everyone else was getting laid or whatever. Not like I had a chance of getting laid during New Year. Both self-inquiry and meditation are going well. Currently I am reading ''The Power of Now'' and although I understand a lot of what Eckhart Tolle says, it is a hard read. I can only get through 10 pages per day. I am serious when I say that this is a hard read. Even though the book is very small. Nothing much else to say. Take care.

Hello everybody. Since joining this forum I have discovered my two greatest addictions and how they can be a problem for me. Gaming and porn. Now how I deal with gaming is a different story, what I like to talk about today is my addiction to porn. I am almost certain that I am addicted to porn. When I tried to quit for 2 weeks, the reason I looked at porn at the end was because I didn't know how else I would get my needs met. How else am I supposed to masturbate? There is porn, using your imagination and that's it! There has to be a better way right? I think there is. I read somewhere about healthy masturbation, I just don't know what it means. When I looked it up all I could find was ''10 tips to make your masturbation better!!!'' kind of articles. When I asked on this forum if NoFap is a good thing to engage in as a teen (because I am a teen), people said that masturbation itself isn't a bad thing. The only problem is porn because it is addictive. Paul Chek came to this point as well in one of his video's about masturbation/porn. Now I wonder: what should I do then? What should I do when I get horny all of the sudden? Just surpress it? I heard that that could become very unhealthy, according to Paul Chek and the guy's sources. Watch porn? No, that could cause an addiction. Masturbate to my imagination? I tried that, but it wasn't even close to as great as porn. Any help is highly wanted. Take care everyone.

Hello everyone. Long before I started my journey here on actualized.org, I quit everything that is sweet and basically contains too much sugar. I quit chocolcate, candy, fizzy drink and that kind of stuff. I started to workout I think 2 years ago and even before that started the habit of only drinking water. Later on (around half a year ago) I started with only eating fruits or veggies when I am hungry (I used to eat cookies when I was hungry). These days I am eating a bit of a pomegranate every now and then and it tastes good! The issue I face is related to all of this. Sometimes my mom, friend or sister offers me something sweet. I always say no, which leads to me holding a track record of something about 1 year without any kind of sweet stuff. Especially during the holidays they ask me if I'd want some cake or something. I am not perfect and do sometimes accept their offer, because I don't know if I should always refuse. Now I personally think that I should always refuse. Eating healthy = priority. I am curious about what you guys think about this. Should I say yes sometimes? Like once in every month? I don't know.

Hello everyone. When I joined this forum I didn't know what to expect. Now I meditate for 30 mins a day and read books. I am trying to quit porn and get more insights. One of, I think biggest obstacles in my path, is gaming. I used to game a lot a few years ago. The last few months I never really got the time to game during the week, but in the weekends I would always call with this girl I met online. We are both young (around 15 years old), the only difference is that I guess I am more aware than her? In the sense that I know that there is self-actualization, enlightenment and all this stuff and she doesn't. Now I wonder: Should I quit the game I always play with her, therefore stopping the connection I have with her. Look I wouldn't mind doing it, I just don't know if it is necessary. I personally think that I need to find a balance between personal development and, well, gaming with a girl online. 2019 just started and she told me: ''When I was celebrating with firework outside, I thought about you. How you were staying inside, because you don't celebrate New Year, and it made me feel really sad about you.'' So she does have feelings. In case you couldn't make that up. I have told both this forum and her many times that I don't have people I'd consider ''friends'' outside of her. This used to be because I was just not social and couldn't make much friends in school. On the internet it is very easy to make friends, real life is just different. Now my reason is personal development. Socializing is all fun and stuff, but I can't always do that when I have to meditate or read my books. Many people who go on this path have had this problem and I am just another 'victim' (I know I am not really a victim, I think my mind is tricking me in some way). Don't worry about me, I bought Teal Swan's most recent book about loneliness and I think it will help me. I am just wondering if you guys would advice me to quit gaming, therefore stopping the connection I have with that girl. Take care.

@Psyche_92 I don't care about how they feel about my decisions. I think I made clear that that eating healthy = priority. No social relationship will stop me from doing that. Oh and about that ''deciding in the moment'': I think we can all agree that people relative to my age struggle with saying ''no'' to candy or chocolate. I am pretty young after all.
