I agree with some aspects of the OP, such as the long hours for beginners - this can become very gruelling and it can become increasingly difficult and annoying when you hear the bell at 4am to get up. Having done 7 Vipassana's (and they were my introduction to real meditation) years ago, the best part was always the 10 days of silence, which I think was more of a motivator for me to continue attending than even the meditation itself. By the 7th day I would be bathing in the silence and coming back to speaking was always difficult and jarring. In my experience, you were allowed times to speak with the teachers every day at set times - it is not true that the silence was absolute with no questions to teachers. Vipassana in my experience is certainly not as effective a technique as Advaita or Tantra techniques and it did not lead to me meditating daily, but the retreats themselves taught me what inner silence feels like and probably the biggest thing I learnt was that all suffering is only the reaction to a sensation in the body. Sitting for long periods and experiencing pain eventually turned to simply sensation and that realisation has stayed with me since. You can also choose to serve others and cook/clean up rather than meditate and that is also a beneficial experience. -

I grew up in an evangelical church and saw it happen. My understanding now is that for Evangelicals, it's the only outlet they have for releasing blocked energy or traumas - and those can appear demonic if they are repressed enough. -

This guy has some great videos -
I'm just wondering why you're so hung up on where other people are, and you seem triggered by what you call 'poorly developed green?' Focus on yourself and become aware that what you are judging and noticing in others is really yourself.

So to rest in awareness, which to me feels no different from mindfulness, is the same as Self-enquiry as taught by Ramana Maharshi? -

Yes, I realise that. I'm just wondering if his particular brand of Advaita has resulted in many 'awakenings,' as compared to what he calls the 'progressive paths?' -

This professor took 73 500-600ug doses over 20 years to use for exploring his consciousness. If you use the tool correctly, you can journey deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. ETA: I'm not suggesting you take such a high dose, but you can certainly attain some very deep insights if you take the 3 tabs with the proper set and setting, with the intention to use them for consciousness exploration. -

My question is, has anyone here seen through the separate self using only Rupert's direct path method? -

Rupert Spira is another one to listen to for very simple, accessible truths. You don't have to try - just be aware of awareness. -

Haha nice, yes I remember speaking with you. I introduced him to Leo and I'm glad he is passing on the batton of awesomeness that is Leo to his mates -

Life is a waterfall, we're one with the river then one again after the fall Swimming through the void we hear the word, we lose ourselves but we find it all -

Interesting. My son tried 2CB with Acacia Confusa and syrian rue seeds and had a wonderful experience. He said he prefers it in combo than on its own because it is quite light. He also combined 2CB with LSD once too. He said that both experiences had amplified visuals and the intensity and length of both were increased. -
Since when is the Daily Mail green? It's a tabloid.

I just had a look at one of the Unspirituality vids trying to take Leo down, and it was laughably juvenile. No wonder he gets so few views.

Meh. So much fear and scare tactics over so little. The internet is not coming to an end. Plus I would move to the EU over the US any day if I had to choose.

Your resistance is the cause of your suffering. Let go of your resistance to the situation - it is only hurting you.

Maybe try talking to women as actual people rather than some alien species you don't understand. Women just want to be treated like human beings mostly.

Don't be too concerned with it. Just imagine closing off the energy centre/s you feel he is feeding from (it's often the solar plexus) and severing the etheric cord he is using to feed from you. Gently tell him in your mind that you care about him, but you will no longer allow him to feed from your energy. Do this a few times a day for a while, or whenever you remember to do it.

Teal Swan is not enlightened. If you look more closely at her, she writes diatribes against people she feels wronged her, such as exes and demonizes them in public. Then look at her fanatical followers and how mentally unstable they are - how they go after anyone who criticizes her in droves. There is always scandal around her and many people hurt by her. I'm not sure why people like Teal Swan keep getting brought up around here as examples of enlightenment, though like any teacher, she has some good qualities. "Teal Swan, an emerging cult leader, claims she is a multi-dimensional Arcturian alien working with 11 other aliens in an “intergalactic Green Peace” type organization. She says she has x-ray vision and hearing, that she can inject herself into people’s brainstems to revive them and can hear tectonic plates moving. She has a massive following, many of whom, called “Tealers,” tattoo themselves with her symbol. Teal claims suicide is a “reset button” and that “death is delicious.” At least two of her followers have already committed suicide. Teal also claims to have suffered 13-years of abuse in a child-murdering Mormon Satanic Cult where she was routinely tortured, sewn into a corpse for 12 hours and made to torture other children." https://medium.com/@bescofield/the-gucci-guru-inside-teal-swans-posh-cult-36168edaf62f -
Please don't do it Leo. I would love to never hear about or see JP's name ever again because he's everywhere and seems to bring out the worst in his fans especially. You're right that his army would make you their mortal enemy as any criticism of their Daddy God is blasphemy.

If you have sourced your own Aya, I would go with that first. The nice thing about aya (or pharmahuasca if that's what you have) is that you can control the dose. I have a lot of experience with this, and I have had much better experiences at home in total silence, controlling my own dose than being given a dose that someone else has prepared that I have no idea of the strength of. You have a small sip, wait half an hour to 45 mins and have some more if you need it. I have never had a "negative' or frightening experience this way and being plant medicine, it is healing to your spirit and body. LSD is harder to control and lasts many times longer, even with a smaller dose and can cause a lot of discomfort coming down. But ultimately it depends what you want out of the experience. -
Emerald, I don't see you as putting yourself on a pedestal at all. You are very lucid and calm in your reasoning, and you never bite back when JP fans are triggered by your comments (which are well thought out and intelligent). Thanks - I always enjoy reading your posts.

We used to go to the Hare Krishna restaurant all the time when I was a student, and their food is freaking delish. Other than that though, they are the very definition of a toxic cult and the leaders appointed by the founder, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada turned it into a drug/gun running enterprise, and ex-members who try to expose the cult fear for their lives. They're also being investigated for a history child sexual abuse in their institutions, such as boarding schools. Prabhupada himself is worshipped and revered more than Krishna and he was basically a nutcase. "Because Prabhupada’s near-every word was documented, followers are aware of his colourful history. He impregnated his wife when she was 14; he said men’s brains weigh twice as much as women’s; he claimed that syphilis is the result of women keeping large dogs for sex, and he believed men never really landed on the moon," http://pages.shortlist.com/news/inside-the-dark-secrets-of-the-hare-krishnas/ Having said all that, I have a couple of friends who joined the cult when they were young and it helped them become nicer more caring people, though they are fanatics.
