  1. @zeroISinfinity Why are you suddenly running away, stay with us on this!
  2. Thank you guys for your insights. Yes I think I am beginning to see a pattern here. It is very much about intent and also state of mind, feeling... @acidgoofy Just get rid of distractions, plan everythig well in your environmnent, be focused, mindful - anything that gets you into that, maybe go to the toilet before, have something to drink, sit in a nice place, I mean you can use decorations, music and stuff... But I guess the goal with that is to become more mindful and dedicated while preparing your sitting. Meditation cannot go bad I guess
  3. @AlwaysJoggin Sometimes these small things like complaining, gossiping, irritation etc. add up into a larger issue. Sure, things like toxic core beliefs are to be gotten rid of first I guess in most cases, but like don't underestimate these small things. If you can already feel that they don't feel aligned, just live without them, live in alignment with what feels right But yeh I get you, all people just sometimes need to let the steam out.
  4. @Rilles How exactly has it helped you? I mean, people go into therapy for various reasons, right. Don't worry I am not seeking any therapy at the moment so anything you say I just look at @DrewNows What do you actually mean by self-hypnosis, could you elaborate?
  5. @allislove is by far the best Nahm copycat I know of. Sorry @Javfly33 for hijacking.
  6. @Don Wei Yes it is!! Don't be afraid to try things just like that, it can turn out to be just so much easier that you initially thought Maybe you can start a blog, write there, and by doing that get some feedback on your writing, i think that would help! Definitely possible and easy these days.
  7. @Don Wei I think you would get much more value actually doing something, there are so many websites where you can apply for work. These marketing books will be so abstract if you don't have any experience with marketing. Check out facebook ads, basic coding, certain websites you can find... It's really easier than it sounds and it teaches you a lot.
  8. @allislove Damn bro, if Nahm had a son with himself and taught him everything he knows, that son would be you hahahahaahahahaa xDD
  9. Yeh man you are underestimating the power of psychedelics, your mind will be blown, you will probably need time for recovery haha. Also you could literally integrate the insights from 100mcg LSD or 2g mushroom trips for like multiple years and still not be done, so it's really not bad to wait, you will see, maybe now when it's your first time, you might have biased expectations, but trust me. Some tips: I guess you have a good growth mindset, just don't overdo yourself with the dose, it's not like it will make enlightenment quicker or anything HAHAHAHAHAHA... Really, be gentle to yourself. Also, make it ritualistic, rituals are honestly like so underrated, there is a reason why shamans are so rigid with them. I guess breathe out your fear and selfishness, breathe in goodness and love. Perhaps if you are sensitive, you might consider taking some sleeping pills with you that are compatible with psychs, they shouldn't give you any bad effects, but in case the trip goes in an unpleasant way, they might decrease the disidentification and make you more grounded. Again, no need to rush anything, better be safe But I think you are gonna do good, have fun and best of luck from me!
  10. @Red-White-Light You can always report the post if it doesn't seem right, there should be a button for that next to the time the comment has been posted James seems fine, I guess you cannot destroy your demons, you learn to live with them and this is how you do it really. Just feeling good, loving more. I am glad you are good @James123, since it makes me good too
  11. What is the thing you call brain? Is it an instrument? Do you want to get rid of the instrument or do you want to learn how to use it? Do you feel bad for asking for help? Do you really think it's funny?
  12. @Eren Eeager That right there is quite paradoxical. I know it can be hard sometimes, but try to notice how life is giving you opportunities to expand your capacity to love. Gradually you will realize how much you love yourself
  13. @John Iverson I already told you in another one of your threads, and more importantly, you told it to yourself first, that the only place where you can be helped is here. By trying to find another state that doesn't take place now, you are automatically separating yourself and falling apart, notice that.
  14. @Raphael I have this experience with trying to learn Japanese and interacting with Japanese people. As you might know, they have a very different social structure (age, status, race etc...), different levels of politeness, exotic manners and the list goes on, it is quite hard to get used to it. You might see this pattern in many facets of east Asian culture, for example zen temples making it hard for new members to join them, sushi shefs having to go through years of monotone rigorous training... I think in many cases this is coming from an insecure and rather unhealthy mindset, but it can also teach you an important life lesson if you look at it as a metaphor. All these practices, including the language, zen meditation or preparing food can seem very hard to get into and even harder to get good at, but once you understand the principles, you will realize that they have a tremendous value in that they destroy your pride. You can totally transcend this, but first look at - what am I trying to do not being polite with people? (maybe you are trying to impose something on them, catch attention or call for help indirectly, explore that) When does it feel good to say bad words and when does it feel like complaining and underestimating myself? What are truthful words, what does telling the truth even mean? What do I want to communicate with my words? What is balance, is it one universal pattern in an activity that is the mixture of some exact percentages of individual actions, or is it a mixture of diverse actions that come from a highly developed place of groundedness in experience and self-understanding?
  15. Are you really not interested in that, or do you still wanna experiment? I mean, you are young for a certain period of time and then you stop being young and will have more responsibility etc... it's good to learn from experience about certain things. If you are a 20 year old who has never dated, maybe you should start, because if you are then interested in something like a long term relationship, it would most likely fail very quickly given that you have zero or very low past experience with relationships. About their advice to stop wasting your time trying to get somewhere and start enjoying, it might come from a rather unenlightened perspective, but even that can be, and often is, a powerful teacher. Maybe your whole life is a trip, maybe every moment is a mystical state, just maybe I get the sense that you are on a hunt but you have no idea what you are hunting, so the solution is simple - you think about what is it that you are hunting and write that here in this thread, thoughts are slippery but once you write them down, you can spot many biases and illusions.
  16. @Eren Eeager Yeh sure, but does that mean that you cannot be loved?
  17. @Eren Eeager Are you unlovable for being traumatized?
  18. Hello everyone, I have a question especially for those people, who have an experience with studying abroad for longer periods of time or for those who are parents of kids. Here is some (quite a lot of) background information, the questions are in the last paragraph. I live in Czechia (central Europe) and am 16 years old, turning 17 in April. In January, I applied at a national committee for a scholarship to study abroad for 2 years after my mum told me about it. Now, I am in the last round of the selection procedure, in which there are 10 or 9 participants and 8 of them will get the scholarship, so it's become kind of a more serious thing for me. Here is my view on it: I am suffering in the school I am at now, I am doing many creative, intellectually stimulating things outside school, but the school itself is merely a place to socialize for me, I am striving to get a better quality education. https://www.uwc.org/ UWC (United World College) is an international organization that has schools all around the world. Their top values are diversity, integration of knowledge, understaning, ecology and more free, friendly communication between students and teachers, who also kind of work like mentors. All the people I've asked who have studied there have told me about their incredible experience, so I am not affraid of going into a scam. The academics at the school are also interconnected with a mandatory creative activity, research in a chosen area and epistemology and a service for the local community, such as teaching local kids English etc... (feel free to apply via your national committee if you are 15-17 years old) From the 8 people, each of them gets to study on a different school that the national committee decides, but we can give them our prefferations. The possible destinations this year are: Norway, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tanzania, China, India, Singapore and Armenia. My prefferation is India, because I like the subjects there the most and the school is located in a national park, so I could spend some time alone among trees which is really beneficial for my spiritual work. I wouldn't really have any issues with studying at any of the schools, but literally all of my family members except my mum are not supportive of this idea of mine. I also think it is important to say that the school are international, therefore there shouldn't be that much of a difference in terms of the quality of education, although there most likely is some. I really take this path seriously and I would like to execute on my visions, but I also know that I am a rather impulsive and naive person and that I might sometimes not think through things as much as needed, so I am still looking at the opposite opinions. (staying in Europe) I've had some depressive periods in the last few weeks that were about leaving everything I know, especially friends, but I think these are normal and it will pass after some time. I also resonate with the stage green European countries such as the Netherlands, Germany and the Scandinavian countries, I know because I've been studying their languages at school, but I don't know if going to a more exotic place wouldn't give me a richer experience... I am basically lost. Questions here: I still don't know whether I will be accepted or not, but I believe in myself that I will... What do you think? What things would you consider doing in my situation, what prefferation would you give them and for what reasons? (you don't have to be specific, just say Asia/Europe, probably not Africa because my grandma would get a heart attack, although I love black people very much) How would you treat the possible family conflicts? Do you think that once a child leaves their home, it is likely that they won't ever come back? (move to a foreign country) Why? Small edit: The school seems to be really high consciousness organization, I came home from the selection procedure very excited, all the people there were very open and curious, the adults were extremely friendly and warm and in one of the activities I wrote about my interests in yoga and meditation and I also spoke about the benefits of psychedelics in another activity, after which I was accepted.
  19. Just updating on my journey, my school year started this Monday. I have a personal advisor who looks like Keanu Reeves, that's the coolest thing in the world. Also mindfulness meditation and yoga are taken very seriously, we have 2 yoga teachers on campus, from which one of them is also a history teacher. The people there are sooooo passionate and nice, I already started to work in my friend's teaching business, it's so good how many opportunities this school and the people inside it give me. Also everybody needs to volunteer, do some sort of physical and creative activity, so the education is very holistic and based on building real world skills and experience. The art subjects are also taken very seriously and the people who teach them are very humble, respect their students and are willing to learn unlike in some other places. It's a pity that I couldn't take an art subject because of some requirements, but I still think my experience there is gonna be great
  20. @Eren Eeager Yeh don't judge yourself, you aren't for being ignorant. What is it that you want, what kind of life story sounds great?
