  1. Hahaha thank you for the good laugh
  2. I find that there's not much explanation about the techniques in The Secret Power of Kriya Yoga. On the other hand Kriya Secrets Revealed is a goldmine. You should really buy that one if you're planning to practice Kriya in the long term!
  3. Hey! If like me you're having trouble with the thrid life purpose exercice, the one where you need to write down your top 100 most fascinating questions, I got something for you : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_unsolved_problems A giant list of unanswered questions about different domains! If I can my my word of advice, first read the sections that interests you the most. The day after, without opening the wikipedia page, do the 100 questions exercices, that way only the very fascinating questions will be left in your mind. If you do the exercice while having the page open you'll naturaly want to cheat and copy paste every question you see on the website. Your top 100 list needs to be as authentic as possible, you wouldn't want to mess it up.
  4. I don't have what you're looking for. But, fortunately, there's an entire forum subsection just for that my brother.
  5. Reading books is essential in the process of self-actualization. Success, happiness, money, business, relationships, sex, nutrition, meditation, the subconscious mind, you name it, there's a book about becoming better at that that! One might argue that there is all the content is available for free online, but let's be honest here, nothing beats a well-written book by an expert in the subject. That being said : What is your personal favorite book topic, and why? How many time do you spend reading each day, or each week? What is the TOP 1 book you read this year? I'm in the process of creating a reading habit for myself. My goal right now is to dedicate AT LEAST 1 hour every day to reading. I don't plan on restricting myself to a specific genre at the moment, I'll just go with the flow. My favorite book of this year has been Mindfulness in Plain English by Bhante Gunaratana : A short book about vipassana meditation. Not too much bullshit, just straight-forward how to meditate properly with a small hint of wisdom about enlightenment here and there. P.S.: This thread is NOT about reviewing books, there's an entire forum section for that. I simply like to encourage people to read more than do usually do, and what better way to do that than by talking about the simple and elegant activity that is reading books.
  6. @AleksM Thank you for taking the time to write this post! Like @zambize said, not everything is crystal clear but it at least helps me understand the context behind the video.
  7. 5:40 "And it takes time to anchor these memories which are gigantic from the higher realms into the vessel, because this is such a low density. […] So, let’s say, once the superconscious being is anchored in the moment and 360 degrees of self-love is developed, as in a complete cipher, that is when novelty can pour through you in the form of art, spiritual technology, anything that can hence living on this planet, and the better man for the human race and earth, this become activated as you become an active light anchorite […]." This is complete non-sense.
  8. I was gonna write something else, but I'm pretty sure you already know what you should do. Take some time alone to think about it. Picture yourself 10 years from now, where would you want to be? What career would make you the most happy? Don't worry about your friend. If you take the time to explain to him the motive behind your action, I'm sure he'll agree with you. Don't forget to write on the forums if you encounter any difficulties in the process, we're here for you.
  9. I understand how you feel, I had the same experience as a student in computer science. Ultimately I decided to change my feild of study, I'm not sure if there would have been a lot of other solutions unfortunately. Is you job making you fulfilled in any other ways?
  10. It's very courageous of you to do that, I wish you only the best
  11. Great report We often see breakthrough reports but low doses not so much. Nice addition to the family!
  12. I mean, we're doing kriya yoga to reach enlightenment aren't we? Yogis have instructed their students to face east when doing yoga for thousands of years on the basis that it will help them reach enlightenment faster. I don't know why they said that, nor do I know if there is any veracity to the claim, but if maybe, just maybe something so simple can help me reach enlightenment a bit faster, why wouldn't I do it?
  13. I quit alcohol 6 months ago. I wasn't difficult. It's actually a series of event that lead me there. Here are some of those : I understood that alcoholism plays a big detrimental role in modern society. Two of my friends are addicts, and I can clearly see how it affect their lives very, very negatively. I already started mindfulness meditation at that time. It became very clear to me that getting drunk wasn't getting me anywhere close to where I wanted to be in the long run. Alcohol for me was more of a temporary escape from the problems I faced in my daily life. Alcohol is often considered a recreational substance, something you do for fun. But even then, I have had some experiences with other substances that were absolutely transcendental in terms of recreation compared to what was possible to achieve with alcohol, making the former obsolete. Has I said earlier, everyone's different. A combination of events made me realize I simply wasn't enjoying alcohol anymore, and thus I needed to stop taking it. I also encourage you to do the same! But don't do it because of what is being said here, I'm not a reference of any kind. Take the time to think really hard about the reasons behind all of this. Really contemplate the how alcohol is making you miserable and the why quitting could make you happier in your day to day life. There's no magic pill here. If you do the work, the answers will present themselves to you. PM me if you want to talk about it, I'm always online
  14. I love the taste a good beer, but I hate the effects alcohol. Alcohol closes my mind whereas what I'm trying to do is open it. Of course now the effects are different for everyone, who am I to judge the actions of others. I personally have a goal in mind and alcohol doesn't make me closer to that goal. This is why I don't touch alcohol anymore. Hope that helps
  15. How have I not seen this yet? Very high-quality post! I like seeing threads like this here!
  16. I've had a similar feeling in one of my recent trips. Thank you your for sharing!
  17. @Joseph Maynor Attained complete liberation from the illusory nature of the ego. But let's be real here Joseph : after more than 10k replies, I would've thought you'd know better about what this forum means when referring to enlightenment.
  18. @VictorB02 I feel you, I'm exactly where you are. None of the people I met who smoked cannabis said it had the same effect on them as the effect it has on me. Cannabis just seems to ship me into that space where empathy and connectedness is disproportionately elevated compared to my my sober everyday self. Actually the substance is what got me into self-development and spirituality. That being said, addiction came fast and hit me hard. My meditation habit was well established then so I got to be mindful of the situation and stopping asn't been quite a struggle. I find that I get the most results from cannabis when using the substance only about 1 time every 1-2 weeks. It keeps me aligned with my goals and gives me a slap in the face when I'm going off-track. I don't think I should be supposed to feel high all the time. I think experiencing such states can give me the motivation to take action towards being a better person in everyday life. I still find it hard to find my words when talking about this kind of stuff though, bear with me
  19. I have a problem with the Talabya Kriya and Kechari Mudra techniques : I get huge gag reflex when doing the practice... I can stretch my frenulum and my tongue a couple of times okay, but I can't even fathom how I'm gonna be able to stick my tongue in my nasal cavity... What's the point if I'm just gonna vomit in my own mouth while doing it. Anybody have the same problem? What can I do to prevent the gag? Should I just drop practicing those lessons entirely? I can't be the only one going through this...
  20. "Have a work for money and do your hobbies on the side". The large majority of people think like your neighbour, that includes my mother, my father, and about all my friends. That being said : my mother, my father and all my friends absolutely hate going to work. They are not fulfilled with what they are doing in their daily lives. Their work takes up so much energy that they do nothing at all when they come back home at the end of the day. This isn't a way to live a life. Is this even a life worth living?
  21. If smoking it last that long for you, I wouldn't recommend eating it. Eating it lasts 2 to 3 times longer.
  22. Hey Luke, how are you I believe everyone here is as fascinated with self-actualizing as you are, welcome aboard!
  23. @Roman Edouard There are so many things wrong with your arguments I don't know where to start... Space is not black. Black isn't a color. "Your mind can't distinguish something due to lack of light entering your eyes" is false. I can imagine the color red when my eyes are closed. I can distinguish between a high or low pitch even when I can't see anything. What do you mean by "if it went on forever then it would be clear"? Are you assuming "clear" is something the eye can see? What do you even mean by "If space was infinite then there would be an infinite number of stars. So you wouldn't see the black"? As far as I'm concerned no human can see infinitely far at an infinite resolution. The same way you can't read a sign 50km away, you can't see a star that's 10 billion light years away. I have no idea about what's beyond the edge of the observable universe, nor have I had mystical or higher-consciousness experiences about the subject. But those two arguments ain't a valid reason to believe the universe is finite. Why would there be something to believe though? I will continue to say : I don't know.
