  1. I remember when I was less conscious and what I felt and went through. It wasn't fun. Even though I am more conscious and have fixed a lot of issues, I still remember what I went through. This a long with realizing all is me and they don't know any better helps me understand what people are going through. Suffering isn't enjoyable for anybody and simply telling somebody they cause it to them doesn't fix it. When your goal is to help people you gotta find balance between the mind and heart. You have more mind right now. People feel things other than thoughts. Take in their own problems as your own. Notice your mind is centered around what you think and not how the other person is feeling. You also seem to avoid anything pertaining to the ego. The goal here isn't to annihilate the ego but to understand its mechanism so you can more consciously act with it. There is no ego per se its just a concept to help you understand your behaviors so you can change them.
  2. Become enlightened and see if it's true. I imagine some are more predisposed to needing social contact and others not so much. You can use theory to justify most scenarios. Direct experience will prove it.
  3. To me, yes. Normal is just a way of trying to fit in to feed off social approval and gratification. You have a hard road ahead if you compare yourself to others for how you should be. Personal Development will make you abnormal. Most of the world is dysfunctional and hardly knows how to work on that dysfunction. Be your own person. Society doesn't depend on you being the same as long as you are mindful of how you interact with others. For me I'd say it actually helped me interact by being more empathetic and compassionate instead of thinking my views are law. Take your own path though. As long as you desire it. You'll find out what does and doesn't work.
  4. While certainly the body isn't static I think one of the key things is that we only have so much time to grow. Unless we perfect extending life. You can start from 0 and try to brute force things but if the reward isn't high enough to warrant the extra effort you'd probably be better off utilizing the talents your body gives you.
  5. I think the important part is to look at the time and effort costs of things. Life is ever changing and 100 years of personal development results in more miniscule changes compared to thousands to millions of years of evolution. Yeah you can brute force but it is inevitable you will have to work harder if you aren't talented in that area. So you must strategically plan your life. Recognizing where you naturally excel in places is more about strategy than it is some can/can't statement. You'll be much better off if you can find a way to use your talents in what you want to do than start from scratch. It's like making a character applying points in a Stat only to not use it. Or getting a % increase in experience gained for a Stat to not use it to put it in video game terms.
  6. There's both the psychological component of scarcity which you can see value from scarcity all over the economy causing a sense of need and the more raw chemical component of a dopamine rush which also is used as compensation for say being bored and what not.
  7. Yes. You can masturbate about how the future might be but you still have to live in the here and now. Accept how things are now then decide the steps on how you want to craft your life. Becoming enlightened is still playing the game of life. Make no mistake it is not a bypass. It can bypass some challenges but not the game. You are the game.
  8. This topic has been discussed many times before. Free will = no free will. Just depends which side of the coin you are looking at. The actual answer is both are true.
  9. Investigate your feelings on this. There is work to be done there. That aside An enlightened individual is not without ego. This is all speculation at best. But the cage example you are getting too hung up on.
  10. This might have truth if an enlightened person never performed any action but being in of itself is an action. 'karma' can be generated in more subtle ways than a mind level. Your entire existence generates it.
  11. Murder being bad is an example of relative bad. We demonize this stuff because it doesn't fit our agenda. Relative good/bad is useful to help you craft the life you want, but it is not 'fundamentally' bad.
  12. Its a tricky topic. If you say harsh things to try to help fully knowing they don't want to hear it or aren't receptive to it then you ignore their feelings of it which becomes more about you asserting what you want them to do.
  13. @Recursoinominado Well, first you must accept there will always be self-deception. It is not a matter on if/if not delusional but how delusional. But as you do this work and continue to have insights and embody them you find another piece of the puzzle. You'll obviously be deluded running off only one piece, but you can improve as you get the 2nd piece then 3rd piece and so on. This is why you stay humble as there are more pieces than you'll realize in your life. So don't be deterred by self-deception. Continue working and being aware and you can begin to 'cleanse' any insight that the ego tries to corrupt. You gotta start somewhere right? Yes, I would say I have seen success. Although, I would say I have been spoiled a bit. A psychedelic experience built an amazing foundation for me and I was shown to Leo that very night and its probably the very reason I struggled way less on some things than others. There's a lot of work involved though in the personal development side. I mean you effectively have to unravel your psychology like a ball of yarn and get to every tree root there is. I would imagine insights that aren't as emotionally dramatic may not 'bake' itself into your being as much. You know that sort of pre-thought understanding. The click. Perhaps you can meditate on them until it does. I had an ego death to where I realized all is one but it didn't click with me anymore until the experience I mentioned that absolutely rocked my world.
  14. Plot twist there is no other side. It is all here. Reality is shitty and perfect simultaneously. Now which side of the coin do you want to look at? Up to you.
  15. I'm talking about being polite out of empathy. Because you know not being polite would hurt them and you wouldn't want to hurt them. So it becomes about caring about another than believing these are rigid rules that must be followed. Yes exactly what I was trying to get at. Thanks for the clarification.
  16. Good stuff. Thanks for this. I am very fascinated how it results in absolute good and not neutrality.
  17. Wouldn't it be more based on your intent and understanding when going about the behavior? Politeness and respect because thats how things should blah blah yeah seems blue. But doing it because you know they don't know any better and to be empathetic towards their perspective would be more green, no?
  18. The lines blur for me a bit. I'd love to hear about your direction or if there is a thread in which you explained it! For me enlightenment work and embodying it through personal development go hand in hand.
  19. Probably. I have yet to go in depth in spiral dynamics but my understanding is stage green is largely empathetic. Yeah good manners are relative and dropping indoctrination can be influence to decide to not get offended by "bad manners" but it is also good to be empathetic of those who do follow the status quo. They don't know any better. So I think a stage green would take this into account and practice being polite when the time calls for it. Use your behavior to reflect your understanding and goals.
  20. Labels and laws are indeed thoughts. Concepts. Mathematics is a concept too. Its all a model. Don't confuse the map with the territory.
  21. Not quite. My understanding is that thought is a feeling and that thought can influence other feelings and vice versa but not all feelings are thought.
  22. Sure. Transcending the materialist paradigm doesn't mean you can't use it. It is incredibly useful and all of our advancements is proof of this. An enlightened scientist just wouldn't chain their mind down confusing concept with actuality. Unfortunately though the science field does demonize anything outside the paradigm so very few actively break out of it. And those that do I bet it was an unintentional. lol I'm a programmer myself and somebody very interested in science. Heavily developed my logic and rational side earlier than my peers. Such a weight lifted knowing I can use these concepts as tools rather than constricting and denying anything that doesn't fit it.
  23. @WelcometoReality This is iffy. Our behaviors are very habit based. This is why you must make an effort to integrate so you can basically submit a behavior change form into the subconscious lol Understand your psychology so you can manipulate to accomplish what you want. Just don't demonize yourself when you go wrong. Be aware. Awareness is what gives control to intercept. Lots of people have psyhedelic insights then it gets lost on sobriety because no work is being done to cultivate it. Psychedelics won't do all the work for you.
